Hey everyone, was looking forward to attending this party, but at the last minutes my son and his wife decided to go to the hospital to have their baby. I have been up all night and am going back to the hospital this monring to introduce myself to my 1st grandchild whenever she decides to arrive. If all goes well, I may have the chance to stop by Ft DeSoto. Sorry I couldn't help more. Hope everyone has a great time, the weather looks cooperative. | |

Posted: 8/11/2006 5:05:11 AM | I do believe that there are signs indicating where the North Beach is...but if not....you make a right turn by the big flag.
If you want to make signs that would be appreciated. Just keep in mind that they cannot be mounted on other signs, they must be attached to their own stake. And they must be removed when we leave the park.
A few posts back I put the website address for Ft. DeSoto where you can view and download diagrams and maps for the park.
ALSO EVERYONE....REMEMBER WE ARE MEETING AT SHELTER #1 (THE FURTHEST SHELTER ON THE NORTH BEACH).

I JUST RECEIVED A PHONE CALL STATING THEY HAD A CANCELLATION ON A SHELTER AND IT IS ALL OURS IF WE WANT IT. I'm no fool so, of course I told them that we would take it.
WE HAVE SHELTER #1 RESERVED FOR US. IT IS THE LAST SHELTER THAT YOU WILL COME TO ON THE NORTH BEACH.

SHELTER #1 ON THE NORTH BEACH.
The upside is that we don't have to meet there at the crack of dawn to claim the other shelter or tables under trees.
I'm figuring that 9:00 - 10:00 would be a good time to meet there.
The person I spoke with wanted me to remind everyone that:
1. No alcohol is permitted
2. No loud music
3. Pets are permitted, but not under the shelter or on the beach, and they must be on a 6 ft lead. | |

I must confess, i didnt sign up to go, but i am glad i made it, i would have stayed longer if i could; people kept coming in all day!!
Everyone please thank Rockstar and Lori (?) for all the time and effort they put into this. I cant wait for the next one!!
