Posted: 7/14/2006 9:43:58 AM | First, completely off the grid ~ no power lines obscuring my view of the sky. Totally solar with appliances that are propane run. The house/cabin wouldn't be visible from the road and there would be a porch where I could read during a rainstorm. As earth friendly as is possible with lots of plants, books and a multitude of gardens ~ most of which would be legal ....... A loft bedroom with a huge window seat and a patio of its own. Trees everywhere and close to if not on the ocean. Comfy furniture that defies you to get up and an ambience that would make all my friends feel as though it was as much their home as mine. Huge windows for the view and passive heating purposes. Places for everyone to sleep in comfort ~ no more friends bunking down on the floor. And a floor to ceiling library that has a ladder attached to it that runs the length of the wall. Bookcases everywhere....... woodstove is also a must.
