"hey what kind of ointments and crap is there?"

Well there is this product called stretchnil or something. My cousin used and apparently she is stretch mark free even though she has two kids.

Its about someone accepting you for you. If hes attracted to you overall, he will look past the stretch marks. I am still looking for that special someone to accept me for me. Looks wise and personality. We all have flaws but theres always good qualities too. We just have to decide on what we need more in our lives. I have lots of stretch marks, more from growing up to fast as a child. I grew some new ones when I was pregnant with my son, but not many. If hes looking for flawless skin he wont get it with me, but if hes looking for what matters, he will find it in me.
Once you have a real connection with someone, they usually look past things like that.

I was pregnant and delivered my son in a small town in a foreign country -- had I only had access to whatever ointment, etc. there is to prevent stretch marks, I would probably be free of them.

But my stomach is absolutely covered in them. Up until the 9th month, I didn't have a single one -- it was those last few weeks where we both ballooned and my stomach was streaked with purple marks.

Now, they've faded and they're what I call my "battle scars." Every single one of them was earned and worth it.

EDIT: And I will never again date a man who doesn't accept me as I am on all levels. If stretch marks bother him, I wouldn't even consider dating him.

One of my best friends she got a bunch of them on her tummy when she was pregnant. While that was about 5 years ago. A couple months ago, she hooked up with this new guy. They had sex, and as he was driving her home he said "can I ask you something"
She said "sure"
"ahh what was that on your stomach?"

She told me she wanted to hop out of the car right then and there. How could a man be that stupid?

Every mark - lump - bump - scar, what ever it may be is a part of who you are and should never for any reason be held in distain. If you are involved with someone who would comment or negatively react to you then they simply do not deserve you!

I thought they made ointment/medicine that removed stretchmarks. Am I wrong?

Sadly yes sweety you're wrong. They have made a few that are supposed to reduce the appearence but it's all a load of crap. My poor belly after kids looks like a fraken dart board. *Ring around the belly button* hehehehe. So I will never wear a bikini even after I lose all of the weight who freaken cares. If they're not on my face what does it matter?

Embarassing, yes. But not all of us have experience with stretch marks. Especially on the belly. Although if he knew she had a kid, he could have put the 2 together.

But, I'm not sure if there is a tactful way to ask that question. So I wouldn't call him stupid. I'd call him stupid if he asked the question BEFORE having sex.

Infact, I have more experience with cutters than stretch marks.

Aren't we all just so sweet.

Stretch marks are not attractive and yes they are preventable with the proper care during pregnancy.

Stretch marks are not preventable, I have no idea where you got that idea. It depends on the elasticity of your skin. It has been proven time and time again that the creams and ointments 'might' help but a woman cannot change or prevent them! When I was pregnant I gained the proper 30-40lbs you are supposed to and still ended up with stretch marks. I had 2 or 3 show up in the last month but the majority were from my C section.

To you Jacknyc...its your ignorance that makes women uncomfortable with the fact that we do have them! I have no problems with mine..I have a wonderful son to show for them and he was worth every last silvery white line on my tummy

Thats what I was thinking.
Allot of men are lying in this thread trying to be the nice guy.

For me it would depend on where they are and how bad they are. It would matter if they stood out abnormally.

Yes, they are. My son's mom used babyoil twice a day and had almost zero marks after.
You might not stop 100% of them, but you can drastically reduce them to almost nothing.

O/T; A few are ok I guess, but allot would be a turn off.

^^^ I can agree with, if you're covered in the things...that might be an issue. But generally no.

Attractive? No. (Generally not, anyway)
Anything to be ashamed of? No.

To be flaunted in a public place when you're trying to get some dinner? NO!

There's no getting rid of them once they're there, unless they fade on their own. Wear and tear happens. Pregnancy happens. Rapid weight gain that you're unaware of happens.

You know what, I put on tons of different ointments and I still have stretchmarks, so some ppl just don't get them bad.

I know from personal experience that the application of certain cremes on a consistent basis from the beginning of pregnancy WILL prevent stretch marks. None of the woman in the crowd I hang out with who have had multiple births have stretch marks. They are all very educated women. Maybe the ignorance was on the part of jennlo before she became pregnant.

Depending on long it has been since the birth..vitamin E oil form is the best to minimize them..using it while pregnant is best...and men get them too..anytime you gain/lose wieght it happens..good luck and dont worry about it

jacknyc, Always_Smiling....c'mon boys, REALLY. they're only stretchmarks - not FLESH EATING DISEASE or something.

facial hair isn't attractive and is, surely, 100% preventable. sounds stupid, right?

RIGHT.

Jack, jack, jack..It will not prevent them...just think of your skin like a balloon..it only stretches so far before it breaks...hence stretchmarks. EVERYBODY IS DIFFERENT!! I dont quite know what u meant by my ignorance before I got pregnant...whatever...we are all free to think what we want

I wrote this in my previous post:

And now, after doing some research, I'd like to disagree with my former comment. Apparently, there is no proven way of preventing stretch marks. Your skin either naturally accomodates the growth without scarring, or it doesn't. Mine doesn't, hence, I have stretch marks. Heck, my width (from back to front) doubled during my pregnancy. I'm surprised I didn't have stretch marks sooner!

He should love you in your entirety. For the incredible woman that you are.

Thank you, Adam...I'm happy to know you found the woman who will do just the same for you!
