| .........Stretch Marks........... Posted: 7/28/2006 11:59:25 AM | | When I was younger I was severly underweight due to illness and my Dr. put me on a diet and exercize program to help me gain weight. She said I would probably get stretch marks from it and reccomended this stuff called "Palmer's cocoa butter formula Massage lotion for strech marks". It's not the nicest smelling stuff in the world and it didn't prevent all my stretch marks (I have a few on my legs). I still use the stuff on my legs and my stretch marks are slowly fading. I think they'd be a lot worse if it weren't for the cream. That being said, stretch marks do have a lot to do with your skin's natural elasticity, and the cream may not work for you. | |

| .........Stretch Marks........... Posted: 7/28/2006 12:09:19 PM | Yes it depends on your skin's natural elasticity.
There is a thin layer of cholesterol in the skin that effects the color and thickness of it. This layer of skin isn't very elastic and will crack and seperate if the skin becomes stretched out. The result is a scarred look.
Scars are masculine
Chicks dig masculinity.
Therefore chicks dig scars.
So by this logic....
Gay men dig stretch marks.

| .........Stretch Marks........... Posted: 7/28/2006 2:06:36 PM | | I got my stretch marks at 17 when i had my first baby ,and not one of the numerous men who have seen me , has ever slowed down or made comment on them ,forget about them there part of you | |

I go to the tanning bed and they are very unnoticable....atleast to me...Don't worry about them, the man should love you more besides your stretch marks...Beauty is deeper...You look beautiful in your picture....Hugs to you...Dee

| .........Stretch Marks........... Posted: 7/28/2006 7:34:29 PM | ok so I have to share my thoughts on this whole thing and im sure it will twitch someone...
I have always been a bigger girl, but healthier girl. I never had stretch marks until I got pregnant for my first baby a year ago within 13 weeks of a pregnancy I gained a lot of weight which was believe to be water. When I lost my son the last thing i cared about was the stretch marks he left....I call them his angel kisses, because he left them there for me to remember him by. And maybe thats stupid but until you lose a child....KEEP GOING!! Theres always a story behind them, and like everyone said, both men and women get them. Big ones are gross and they are treatable not curable!! Get over them! I love mine and wouldnt trade them, they have faded a lot since I lost my son but they remind me Im a mother!

| .........Stretch Marks........... Posted: 8/8/2006 12:31:57 AM | | One other way to reduce the appearance of stretch marks (especially the white ones) is to not tan. White stretch marks usually will not tan like the rest of your skin and stay the same colour therefore when you tan the skin around them gets darker and makes them more noticable. Besides, tanning isn't good for your skin anyways! | |

| .........Stretch Marks........... Posted: 8/14/2006 7:24:14 PM | Glad to see a good portion of the men aren't freaked out by stretch marks since I have some (though mine are the whiteish ones) but I also have my C-section scar and an 8 inch scar on my back from when I had heart surgery when I was an infant so I imagine a man turned off by mere stretch marks wouldn't be keen on my scars.
That being said, I've been with men who loved to lick and touch my heart operation scar (they said the skin felt different) and I've been with men who were afraid of being grossed out by my stretch marks who ended up not even noticing them.
OP: if a man can't love you and appreciate you as you are - don't fret, just find one who will.

| .........Stretch Marks........... Posted: 8/14/2006 9:44:09 PM | | No.Eventually we all get older. Things sag, skin wrinkles. If we foucus too much about how many scars and wrinkles our partner gets then we are just going to have to be alone when we get older. We all change on the outside,it's the inside that really counts! | |

| .........Stretch Marks........... Posted: 8/29/2006 3:22:01 PM | I find it so amusing the minority of men on this thread that find it absolutely hilarious and funny that women suffer so much during childbirth. Like that makes us untouchable or scarred for life. Like we are some kind of freaking lepers!!!! OOOOOOHHHHHHHHHHHHHH please !!!!! We are sexy women with stretch marks and damn proud of it !!! Thank you very much!!!
I have four beautiful children, all grown now. Two were natural and two were C-section so I have that scar too. But, I was very small when I gave birth to my first. And before you call me ignorant and stupid for not using the "proper" ointment or cream during pregancy. Let me call you a P*rick, you have no idea what you are talking about........that simple and that blunt. That is just a rediculous statement in itself. I suppose you are just perfect phycially? no flaws what so ever? Hmmmmmmmm What planet do you come from?
I have NEVER had a relationship with a man, that it bothered. Anyone that is "mature", would see it as a beauty mark and not hideous. They still found me to be a desirable woman.
To the men, that actually "GET IT" !! Thank you, that is so sweet, you made alot of women smile today :) :) :)
Enough said !!! Tara | |

| .........Stretch Marks........... Posted: 12/10/2006 12:23:27 PM | | shawnsmon dont fell bad i have then as well i think my look like a map of canada on my stomache. but i know that it isnt true but there are times i feel like that. | |

| .........Stretch Marks........... Posted: 12/10/2006 12:36:18 PM | | i have 3 children and i have stretch marks. i know mine arent bad but they still do bother me from time to time. i think its because i know what my body use to look and feel like. so every morning i look at myself in the mirror and i have to say i like what i see. so if your stretch marks bother any man than he is a superficial jerk and you can do better. besides the majority of men i have been with (and thats not alot) have no problem with my stretch marks. its me with the problem with them and i am over coming that. our stretch marks are not who we are but apart of who we are. i actually tell myself i like what i see. u know positive reinforcement. like smiling when you do don't feel like it. it eventually becomes true and it does work. | |

| .........Stretch Marks........... Posted: 12/10/2006 4:25:44 PM | Now let me get this straight. A guy sees you naked and you think he's thinking about your stretch marks??? This reminds me of women that by some sort of mystical magic can tell where exactly they put on another five pounds by simply looking in the mirror. Us guys do not care. We do NOT care. Now if they're purple or red lines, we might notice them. You see us do and you say "stretch marks" and that's that. Trust me. Us guys have something else on our minds and agenda.
I had a relationship with an African woman and she had stretch marks on her behind. Hers was lighter than her skin tone. Just part of what happens to some African women when they hit puberty.
And I always kind of internally laughed when I see them on breasts. I have this image of her walking down the street and ... POP!!! ... she goes from an A cup to a C cup. Her old bra fires off like a released rubberband and smashes through the front window of a house. Buttons sprayed everywhere and one knocking out an old man. Mothers covering the eyes of their children. Men driving cars not paying attention to the road and crashing into light posts. A choir from Heaven singing "Haliluah!!!"
Unfortunately, when I asked the first time I saw them on breasts, I sadly learned it was a more gradual process.
