what is your type???? ....... visual imprinting of our perfect mate

You know, I didn't think I had a type. I've dated blonde to raven haired men, curly and straight, anywhere from 5'6" to 6'2", all eye colors, Caucasian, Native American, Lebanese, Russian! Hmmm, doesn't sound like I have a type! Right? Wrong!

Here's what attracts me;

Pretty Hair; rock star hair totally turns me on, but it doesn't have to be that long, just maybe collar length with a nice style and not combed straight back, maybe some wispy bangs swept to the side. Richad Gere always has nice hair. Patrcik Swayze in Point Break, had perfect hair.

Clean shaven face; I don't like ANY hair on a man's face, no small moustaches, no goatees, no beards, no sideburns! Just smooth and kissable!

At least a couple of inches taller than me. Although I did date a guy once that was the same height as me, I felt uncomfortable when I wore heels. I think 5'10" is the perfect height for me. Although, I am flexable with that!

Not a lot bigger, or a lot smaller than me. I don't want to date someone who is really skinny and looks malnourished and I don't want to date a guy with a bigger butt or belly than me.
Average is cool, atheletic is better!

Of course, even when a guy has all these qualities, It would still be important for me to like the person he is inside!

Hmmm...I'm gonna have to disagree with that theory...I grew up in the land of long blonde haired and blue eyed boys with pretty faces and I can tell you that MY personal prefernce is now for DARK haired men with great eyes and smiles....a far cry from what I always thought i'd grow up to admire......

I consistently like women I find beautiful.....

Nah, it changes somewhat. The past couple years I've been attracted to women I would have only considered making a drunk lay back when I was say, 18. And in turn, they now appear not so hot. Another example; Short haired women used to be a no go, but now I don't seem to mind much. Still prefer long hair, but it isn't a must.

You're constantly adding to this "imprint" you speak of. There is a delete button there too. Occasionally, a woman will get tired of jerks and settle for an actual decent person. Rare yes, but possible.

Most people can look in their past and find someone they used to be attracted to, no longer attractive. I'll bet you can too.

Be careful not to conclude first than be selective of what you pull forth to corroborate from memory. You'll think you are on to something when not.

In short, for every similarity, you can find a difference. If not, hope what you are attracted to is fullfilling. If it is, than that may be why there isn't a change. No need. Different people are different.

Yeah but what makes a woman "beautiful"? Dont you find that different things strike you as beautiful?

Yes. That is what I thought I got across. I don't have the same things throughout life that I am attractive too:) Different things as you said.

First girl I had a crush on was five yrs old, flat chested and a blonde. I prefer women much older than 5 yrs old, bigger chest, and brunettes. She was also a teacher's pet. I prefer the spit ball launching girl now. I've changed. Hopefully I will never revert back to the given example here.

Oh, I should add, I was also 5 yrs old when I had a crush on this 5 yr old. This didn't happen last week.

Imprinting hey?? Never watched the show you mention... but I have heard that a similar thing can happen for what turns you on sexually... that apparently your very first turn on stays with you and has a very influential effect on your sex life...

For me, I don't feel this is playing out since I don't really have a physical type and the men I have dated have all been pretty different, but I am open to the idea nevertheless...

Oh dear, my first childhood crush was on an Ewok from the cartoon.....

I'm the only person with brunette-ish looks in a family of blonds. I can't stand blond/fair looks in a man at all. At 5'11" I'm really short compared to everyone in my family, including both parents. My eyes are a dark hazel where everyone else has blue or gray. For physical impressions, I have no idea where my preference would come from, unless I like the male version of myself. I look precisely like my father's father's mother.

~I look for a man about the same height as me, within 2" either way.
~Lanky body frame - not too muscled, nor too skinny
~Proportionately long legs and a nice bottom
~Square shoulders.
~Eye colour anything but blue. Gray is fine, brown Ok, hazel/green is best. Startling is the key.
~I can go either way with facial hair as long as it is well kept.
~Must have hair, I cannot be attracted to bald men, no matter what their personality, or other features. Thick dark hair is best, red is ok, no blonds or artificial colour. Curls is even better. Enough to run my hands through to long hair.
~Great smile and nice teeth
~Strong hands
~Great natural smell - I have an acutely sensitive nose, and can smell different flavours of candies from another room. Overwhelming perfumes can make me ill, although I have no allergy.
~unusual nose shape.(genetically we all have cookie cutter noses)

That is the physical qualities I like. Most are not at all like anyone I knew in my childhood except myself. Even the smell thing. My family all love perfumes. We do all have great teeth except my father.

Other qualities I look for: (this is more like my family/people I knew in childhood)

~IQ over 145, though I had no idea until I started subjecting boyfriends to IQ tests. My own is 144 - 166 depending on the day and the test, so my own intelligence or higher
~Must laugh a lot, be able to laugh at himself, and be cheery through the ridiculous situations which always happen around me.
~Must love outdoors and animals
~Must have stamina enough to get to and through my ridiculous situations (like being treed by coyotes, or waking up with raccoons in our sleeping bag with us)
~Creative
~Gentle
~Supportive

So opposite in looks, similar in temperament as what I grew up with.

Oh my...sort of. I've always been attracted to and approached by taller, brunette or bald men. I have even now a difficult time of not being attracted to a man 6'2" and up, brunette, bald, goatee's. Usually it's the German/Dutch combination. Faultlessly.

The imprint theory though. I'm not sure about that one. I grew up with men averaging 5'4" to 5'10". I go for the opposite.

But in the long run, no matter how fine they are, big, brunette, if they don't character, integrity, good & willing communication, soft, kind hearts, gentle, intelligent, they have to go away.

So much more is dependent upon a person then their looks.

The eyes..color doesn't matter but they have to have that flicker of candle light showing from the soul. Twinkle..guess we call it that.

Of course they need to be able to talk intelligently leaving out the F-word that you hear from some in every sentence they use.

Right now..The eyes are blue, the hair is curly with salt and pepper, a farmers tan. A day or two old beard is okay..once in awhile. Not into beards. Like wide shoulders. A man who leaves an impression on the world..with gentleness and kindness. Respect for others as well as himself.

When I walk into his space..I want to be breathless. Yes, chemistry is a factor. Janie
