| Is Rock and Roll dead? Posted: 10/23/2009 7:56:50 AM | One night in a club called 'The Shaking Hand' There was a ninety-two decibel rocking band The music was good and the music was loud And the singer turned and he said to the crowd - Let there be rock - AC~DC
.......and so there is......End of Story.

| Is Rock and Roll dead? Posted: 11/17/2009 3:14:11 PM | No, but what I would consider to be Rock and Roll these days is usually labeled as Alt-Rock or Alt-Metal for some reason. My favorite current band is Seether which really taps into 80's rock, I think and yet still keeps it modern.
I think bands like Daughtry are ROCK.
A lot of old rock bands and musicians are going to country now. Music is very fluid these days, country, rap, rock, metal... one band might do all of them!

No, Rockers are solid... it morphed from Country and Blues into Rock n Roll and then Hard rock and Punk and now its Emo and Indie and whatever... so many great forms of RnR for people who listen to music with their soul!
If it morphed from country and blues it seems to be coming full circle now.

| Is Rock and Roll dead? Posted: 11/18/2009 3:30:13 AM | " And as we wind on down the road Our shadows taller than our soul There walks a lady we all know Who shines white light and wants to show How everything still turns to gold And if you listen very hard The truth will come to you at last When all are one and one is all To be a rock and not to roll " | |

| Is Rock and Roll dead? Posted: 11/19/2009 6:51:58 PM | : dennyden its all about a good single and not a good album anymore
unless you just listen to the beatles, stones, eagles, george strait etc there have always been one hit wonders so to speak from albums. two examples off the top of my head 1975's 10cc " im not in love" and 79's la roux "new orleans ladies". both were great songs, but the rest were lame.

| Is Rock and Roll dead? Posted: 11/21/2009 7:55:25 PM | | Rock N Roll will never die. It may change a bit and you may not hear as much of it on the radio today, but there are still good rock bands coming out. Collective Soul and Oasis are great '90s bands. Kings of Leon and The Fratelli's in the 2000's. These bands are all Rock, though they may be labeled as alternative or Indie or whatever other labels they have for today. | |

| Is Rock and Roll dead? Posted: 11/21/2009 9:50:08 PM | very nice musicalnoise!! a little zep *goes to player and looks up the zep archive* but I will start with my favorite, in the evening.
It doesn't matter if it's punk or metal or industrial, it's still rock n roll
there are even some bands doing some more traditional R&B based stuff, ya know, beatles offshoots - like Reigning Sound, Puddle Of Mud, Weezer -who some think of as post punk but it sounds like rock n roll to me.........
