My cat is cute but, my dog rules!!!! No pets at all are fine too, as long as he likes my animals if he is lucky enough to get introduced!!! | |

Posted: 8/2/2005 2:02:20 AM | I really don't care as long as the guy is an animal lover. I've had guys on the first date tell me that they would want me to get rid of my horses and cats if we were going to pursue a relationship. Don't... think... so!
Dogs: loving, loyal, protective - but I personally don't like the little dogs. Big dogs are more my cup of tea. I'd have a dog now except I live in a 1 bedroom apartment. No room.
Cats: independant, clean, loving, and there's nothing like a cats purr.
Horses: loving, loyal, smart, and the thrill of a good gallop just can't be beat. But I have to say that more people are turned off by the horses than are by the cats. I don't get this.. but eh.  | |

I think it shows the person's personality too..i guess cause dogs are crazier and have a more outgoing personality, and i think people with dog's most likely have the same. Plus i love dogs. I'm not a cat person, and i can pretty much get along with any dog. | |

I have many allergies and have found I am more prone to problems with long haired animals...I'm not really a cat person, as I hate when they get on the tables and counters, but I have a gray haired cat that is pretty good and has helped me mellow on that..
If I had to choose, I would prefer a dog ..Loved this post...Smiles.. | |

I've had both at once, but now I only have the dog. Gotta like dogs, because he's not going anywhere, God willing, for the next 8-10 years. I look at it this way...you may have a child that depends on you that you want me to accept. Well, I've got a four-legged one who depends on me, as well. | |

I have had many cats and dogs in my time and miss the companionship I had with them. Sad that they just don't live long enough. One day I will get a dog again but for now I settle with my two ferrets as they are easier to move around as I do not own a house yet. Pets are great and if you show them love you will get it back. Have a great day now and be kind to your pet if you have one. | |

Posted: 8/12/2005 2:52:04 PM | I am more of a dog person, but I don't mind cats either. We had a cat who lived to be 20 years old!! It was pretty sad the day we had to put her to sleep. I had her since I was in the 2nd grade.
Now I have a border collie dog and she's the best!! She's the smartest dog I've ever had in my life! She requires A LOT of attention though and has so much energy. It's nice though because I live alone... and it can get lonely. It's nice having her around. We play frisbee in the backyard several times a day. She loves to go to the beach too.
The only thing I don't like about having a dog is the responsibility that comes along with it. It's almost like having a kid. If I want to go away somewhere, I have to ask the neighbours to look after her and whatnot. I have to plan my outings in advance. I'm in the process of building a fenced area in the backyard for her. I am off for the summer so it's not a problem right now... but when school starts again, I that fenced area will come in handy. I leave the house at 6:30am and only get home at 5pm. I'm thinking of getting another dog to keep her company... not sure yet though. Anyway, I don't know why I'm rambling so much about my dog!  | |

A big dog might eat my little dog-or my little dog might be found hanging on the jowls ofa larger dog or chasing one home!!Cats are ok just ok my dog refuses to get along with them-only if they dare to come out from hiding.so when it comes to dating people it's nice to see horse people-dogpeople-elephant people0-just joking.
I would be happy if they didn't have a dog and like mine or if they did and they wouldn't degrade my breed. I love dog people!~!! of course cat people are nice too. meeting and dating someone who didn't like animals would be not easily comprehended at first. | |

Most dogs stink, are very unsanitary, bark at the air, urinate on everything, and are a constant source of noise, interruption, neediness, crotch-sniffing and feces. I would never schedule my dating life around a dog's urination schedule. Ewww ...
Neutered cats, on the other hand, are more my style. Most cats are extremely independent, seem to be more attached to their territory & possessions, and have little use for people. | |

I like cats and dogs just fine, but its really not my thing....I want to be able to travel without worrying about a pet sitter and stay out for long periods without worrying over the dog destroying the house or needing to go use the potty, a.k.a poop up my yard. I have seen the damage pets have done to peoples homes, as my home is my primary investment...I'd prefer it wasn't destroyed. I've also recently learned that my son is mildly allergic to cats; that certainly doesn't help the cat camp. I do have a bird, he is pretty darn cool. I did do that as I felt like my kids should have a pet. He says all the things a girl needs to hear, "I love you. You are pretty. kiss, kiss, kiss...." He also sings the Darth Vadar and Scooby Doo tunes. He is fine for a few days by himself and lots of people love to petsit him, because he is such a sweetie and low maintainance. We also have hermit crabs, they've gotta be the ultimate low maintainance. I feed them like once a month and give them a fresh pool of water every few days. They are SO not messing up my house...or begging for attention, I love those little buggers...They are spoiled though...a 40 gallon tank and a swimming pool for two hermit crabs! The eat the finest foods, I'm pretty sure they think they really live at the beach. | |
