When you post a reply you'll see on the right side of the screen, immediately above the smilies/icons a sample.
If you put in the codes exactly as shown you'll get this:
This allows you to quote a previous post.
If that works you've got it figured out.
In future you only have to replace the words " This allows you to quote a previous post." with the text you wish to quote.

| Quoting, Bolding, Underline HTML - Practice Thread Posted: 2/21/2010 4:29:58 AM | I am a member of plenty of fish and have a complaint. I realize advertising pays the bills but can you do it with a little class. There is an ad regarding losing weight that is dispicable!!. It is a heavy naked women in her underware. Underware that is old, and torn. At least if your gonna allow this ad please put her in some decent under garments!!! It is scaring the fish!!! | |

| highlighted text - test thread Posted: 2/22/2010 1:08:47 PM | Look at sample at the right of the edit window.
You need to leave the two quote codes intact. One code starts the quote feature and the second turns it off.
For your benefit I've replaced the square brackets with round brackets, so the server doesn't interpret my text as code.
So substitute the round with square brackets and try again. Ignore the " marks.
"(quote) <<<< the text between these codes will be quoted....>>> (/quote)"
to get this:
<<<< the text between these codes will be quoted....>>>
