Posted: 4/2/2007 10:28:35 AM | HELP !!!WHATS THAT?? I HAVE TWO KIDS 2 YEARS OLD AND 9 MONTHS OLD AND THERES DADS DONT GIVE A **** WHAT HAPPENS OR WHAT I DO FOR THEM ..BUT THERE DADS KNOW I DO WHAT I CAN AND GET THE HELP WHEN I NEED IT.. AND KNOW THAT THERE KIDS ARE JUST GREAT WITH ME ..
I DO **** UP SOMETIMES BECAUSE MY BOYFRIEND **SUNNY**CAUSE HES A DRUNK BUT I BROKE UP WITH HIM AND IM HAPPY AND I'LL GET MY LIFE BACK AND START DOING WHAT I WANT TO DO FOR MY AND MY KIDS..
THE BOYFRIEND DIDNT WANT ME TO GO OUT AND GET MY 2YEAR OLD A TV FOR HER ROOM SO I GOT HER A 20'' TV AND DVD PLAYER AND A NEW STAREO FOR HERE FOR HER BIRTHDAY AND IT WAS GREAT DOING IT FOR HER LOL

Posted: 4/2/2007 12:15:11 PM | | im a 22 year old single mum with 2 kids and ive learnt u just have to get on with things, i dont even claim maintenance from my babies dad because i see it that ive brought them up for 3 yrs on my own with no help y shud i let them be forced into helpin me now. the best thing in the world is waking up and having them there with me, we all have bad times and good times but we all manage because we love our children no matter wat. its great to see so many dedicated parents in the world because some people seem to walk away from there children without a second thought | |

He also does not support him financially, but I am okay with this as we are better off this way and are doing just fine in every way. My closest family lives an hour away, however my Mom does take him approximately every other weekend because she misses him and it allows me to have some "me" time. | |

Posted: 4/4/2007 12:04:33 AM | | it makes me so mad that people just walk away from there kids without a care in the world. my eldest daughter her dad walked out when i was in labour and the last i heard hes happly married now with 2 kids and my youngest her dad is due to get married soon and as far as hes concerned he doesnt hav a child, but it doesnt bother me coz they hav me and i care for them in everyway im there no matter wat. i feel i cope beta on my own despite the fact it can b tough sometimes. | |

Posted: 4/4/2007 8:38:05 AM | my daughter is two years old. her father was around for the first year of her life. then, one day, he said he was going to work and never came back. i have no idea where he is, but he knows that he has a child and will be back in her life some years down the line. so far, things have been okay. i am like you, campgurl, with penny pinching to pay bills (somewhat anyway) and have been able to make it. And I really have a hard time imagining her not being in my life. even though i don't really think i was ready to have her when i did, she is really a blessing. and she looks just like me, too!

Being a single mom I would never imagine giving up my kid.Sometimes it is for better.

And dont intend to...The way i see it, he will never make up the time and at some point will want to see his son......hopefully my son will make his own mind up about his dad and his family.... i will always be there for my son no matter wot,no matter how hard it gets....  | |

I have had no help from my ex either for going on 3 years, 2 of those years were spent living over 500 miles away from the rest of my family. My ex became a crack addict after being a stay home mom, so the only visits the kids have had with her have been supervised at a state facility. Does your ex leave you alone at least?? Mine files new challenges to my sole custody ruling all the time, racking up even more legal fees for idiotic motions that I have to defend..just to add insult to injury of being a single parent. It's gotten to the point where the fees for legal challenges are significantly impairing my ability to support my sons....and getting blood from a turnip is more likely than getting child support from a crackhead, so life aint so easy for us. Was forced into bankruptcy once and may well be on my way there again. There should be a law to stop that! | |

I have had sole custody of my sons (6 and 5) for nearly three years. Does the system really give a crap that a woman doesn't pay child support? Certainly doesn't seem to. 16K in arrearage but continues to file motions in court to challenge my custody while still testing positive for cocaine. At this point I would be fine without any child support if the legal fees/challenges would just disappear. That isn't right, but there is no cure for crazy. | |

My son's father preferred partying to being dad from day one, sure he gets a guilty thing once a year but thats about it.
Make the best of it and it is quite common, give your kids all the love you can and remind them IS ISN'T THEIR fault.

Anyone can be a parent, but only those who look at those little beings as the most important job they've every had, are the true parents. At end of day yeh - its been really hard and i've had to work all hours god sends, but its me that has the pride of seeing her doing her so well and looking at going to Uni.She already knows that I won't allow him to see her graduate when she does and accepts this,because she is aware of the sacrifices I have gone through to help her achieve this. And I would do it all again for her. | |

Posted: 4/7/2007 5:15:15 PM | Im a single parent of a 5 year old boy and have been since i found out i was pregnant.
As i would rather not have my childs life interupted by the possiblity of his father jummping in and out of his life i choose to bring my son up without finacial aid from his father.
This i feel is the only way i can go, because as i dont want his dad in his life i have no right to ask for child support. If u choose for no contact then its up to u to do it a lone!
I know that some have good reason to have little or no contact and others wish that more contact was saught, but it does sometimes come to a money fighting game between two fraught soles and the kids seem to get lost in all the fighting. this is when it becomes sad as the most important factor of all is sometimes over looked that of
'innocent childhood'.
it is hard both finnacially and emotinally i will be the first to addmit, but with the unconditional love im always offered and give in return i feel the right choice was made and i wouldn't want it any otherway.
it is hard now and im sure it will unfoldto be even harder but i wouldn't want it any other way!!!!! | |

This makes me very, very happy.
So many people complain about going it alone, but in my situation, life is so much easier, and more peaceful without certain people in it!
When filing the divorce papers, she was left out of it, when registering her at birth, he was not put onto the papers. I am her sole legal parent. I like this. I love that I have the freedom to raise her in a way that I chose, that does not depend on the financial support, or the parental assistance of a diagnosed paranoid schizophrenic.

Unfortunately, there are alot of single parents of both genders that have no help from fathers. I always thought child support of $32 a week was not much for my 7 yr old as I have been mainly supporting her on my ssi. Guess I was wrong and there are always people who have a situation that is worse than mine.

Posted: 4/8/2007 4:22:29 PM | | Superman---I'd just like to say..I believe that the state does indeed persue women who do not pay child support...Not for certain, but I have my nieces, and their mother was demanded to pay child support by the state..of course back child support also..I have had them two years already...so it is at the least a slow process. However, she didn't pay and went back to court...they gave her three months to catch up. Of course, she has never paid a penny--drug addict too (mostly oxys--but has done anything out there)..Her next court date is this week..Surely (since I know she will not show anyway) a warrant will be issued? If you are truly curious? I could email you when I know more. | |
