Guess I can't apply to her profile, me being Italian American and damn proud of it too. But then again I wouldn't because my preference is men, not women. 
Maybe I should put in my profile "NO WOMEN" I gotta keep those women from emailing me. lol The ignorance of some people. lol
It doesn't bother me at all that people might refer to me as a guinea, wop or whatever. Wait, let's not forget about another name, the guidos out there either. lol. I think I better shut up now. I could be describing a couple of my family members on that term.
It's just a name used by someone to try and get your goat if you let them. Hell there are times I would even refer to myself as a guinea (if that is even the right spelling of the word).
It's just a word. No biggy to me, but maybe because I was raised not to take offence to trivial things.
Raised my son the same way. Poor kid, he got a double whammy being half italian heritage and half hispanic. Talk about racial slurs he heard growing up in a predominately white community. lol We taught him early on that people will probably call him these names. Just let it roll off your back. He's 31 and a great catch. Too bad he is too busy with his business to bother dating right now.  I will never be a grandma at this rate.
I enjoy it when he calls me up to tell me the latest joke he heard whether its about italians or hispanics. People need to laugh at themselves at times.
And trust me, I use my hands to talk all the time. lol Sad to say at times I am also quilty of italian mother guilt. It seems to be handed down from one generation to the other. Luckily for me my son gets on my case about it and tries to end it. But I tell him, no fair, I have to let the tradition continue and he is the only one I can pass it on to.

And I do talk with my hands but only in bed.
I'm gonna have to start talking more in bed.  Maybe I need an italian man to teach me. | |

He was a good cook, which was one of his only redeeming qualities. On the other hand, he was a womanizer, heavy drinker, kleptomaniac. You get the picture. Of course, not all Italian men are that way. I have an Italian-American friend who's a totally good guy and is now married to a Brazilian girl in her 20s.
I myself have some Spanish heritage. My grandfather died a month before I turned 10. At any rate, he was quite a womanizer himself. Of course, our grandparents generation put up with that a lot more because divorce was generally frowned upon and women couldn't just leave their husbands because they wouldn't have been able to afford living on their own, taking care of kids, etc.

It's one thing for people to express their preferences & I'm sure that the people they discriminate against are, in a way, glad of the heads up as to their racism but but opinions of that nature would get you sacked from work & would be seriously frowned upon in most social situations. That sort of intolerance really doesn't have a place on a dating site IMO. | |
