Posted: 9/4/2007 11:18:59 PM | | I have always had long hair, it used to almost touch my butt..It's now lil over halfway down my back...I have it that way because "I" like it that way...I once got so mad at my ex that I had it cut, before I got up out of the chair I told her to cut it shorter..Yes, I have been quite childish yrs ago..I pretended I just loved it to everyone, then I'd go to the bathroom and cry! That was 1 lesson I learned and I have never had it that short ever ever again..It is alot of hassle and I see women with these great short cut's and wish they would look good on me.. | |

...and I love a woman who has nice long hair. I find it very sensual and think most men prefer longer hair. So how come most women in my age bracket cut their hair short??
I don't know how to answer the OP's question about women in his age bracket because his profile is hidden.
I prefer my hair long and find it easier to take care of than shorter hair. I rarely blow dry it. I find that most women style their hair to please themselves. I know I do... I do get more attention from men since allowing my hair to grow to the point it is now but consider that a bonus. The way I look with my hair long pleases me that's the main reason my hair is long. If I looked better with my hair short, I'd wear it short.
It's not the length of a woman's hair that makes her sensual/sexy... it's her attitude ... ie: the manner in which she carries herself with confidence, her personality and her ability to make people feel good about themselves when they're around her. | |

What surprises me is that I even have had friends/coworkers (that have shorter hair , of course) make the comment < " Don't you think you are getting too old for long hair?"
That really makes me laugh....there is an "age" you are supposed to no longer wear your hair long?  | |

I am 53 but everyone mostly men love my hair. Its also natural curly. If it were straight it would be about 5 inches longer. Its easy to take care of. I like long hair on men too.

My hair is very curly, and when it's wet it goes halfway down my back. It's actually about twice as long as it looks, LOL!! I can straighten it and make it longer, but it takes about an hour, and it's damaging to my hair, so I can't do it very often. | |

I let it grow as a competition with a female friend,years ago to see who's get the longest first.
Here is my hair experience.When it got to the sholders and before,it's just a pain to keep it goodlooking.All that styling and moushe to keep it in place...After it passed the shoulders I had alot less problems.I keep mine in a ponytale most of the time till I get home from work.It is very easy and fast in the morning to get ready.
I am in public alot due to my work and I've been approached often by women telling me that my hair looks great or that they hate me because it looks better than there short hair.Some even ask me if it's real...
It is not bad at all,for a man anyway...When I wake up it looks at his best,yea go figure..I never sleep with my hair tied up and I never wake up in the middle of the night because of my hair either.So my experience with long hair is great.I use great products to wash it,champoo and conditioner,not mixed or not the cheapest either.I never use a hairdryer but let it dry naturally.When I do color it (in my natural color) it's because I do not like grey hair!Looks great on a car,not on my head...
I LOVE long hair on a woman!I find it very sexy and if I had to choose between a bbw with beautiful long hair or an athletic short haired lady,I go for the long hair! My preference.
Would I cut it for a woman?I may someday,when I'm married but for now it's just easier to have it long. | |

I feel just as sexy and confident with my short spiky hair,as I did when i had very long hair in my 20's. Maybe more so.
I've never had problems attracting men no matter the length of my hair.
It's the same as everything else; it comes down to preference. That's why they make choclate and vanilla. | |

But when I'm in bed... and I wake up two or three times a night with it wrapped around my neck, choking me... or trapped under me...or just all over my face... it gets a little tiring.
And it doesn't even matter if I tie it up. It's still the same length and it's like a bleedin' rope! lol I can't wear it in a bun or something like that cos it would hurt my neck if I lay on my back.... grrrr....
But still.... I won't cut it.... I am in love with my own hair hahaha. How fickle! | |

If you look at the history of art around the world, and read writings from ancient and medieval cultures, you know that men have worn their hair long, or worn wigs (and even make up and heavy jewelry) frequently. In Europe in the very early Middle Ages, men were supposed to wear their hair as long as possible, it was a sign of masculinity and to have it cut off was a metaphor for castration. Women wore their hair tightly pulled back - it might as well have been short.
I am 48, a feminist and I wear my hair long because it both pleases me and gets me good attention. It's not my age, it's the way it looks on me. I tire of media fashion spokespeople (like Tim Gunn, as charming as he is) telling me what is and is not allowed for women over 40.

I love my long hair, when I was a kid I used to sit on it.. then it made me have headaches so I chopped it off, it was just below my ears, that's when I was 8. It's been long ever since, It's pretty much at my ass crack now. I blow dry it straight(cause it's a little wavy), but if it gets in the way, that's what a pony tail is for.. I love my long hair, it's my personality, it's who I am.. My hair is my thing.. I would never chop it off. When I was pregnant with my daughter everyone told me it'd get in the way. I'm a single mom, and I haven't chopped it off, she's 10 months old now.. the grabbing stage lol. I get trims once in a while but thats it.. | |

But I concider that better than the peroxide hair destruction or coloring.I have no grey but dont color either and thosze bored friends that do are fryed frizzy hair breaking off or grey at a young age.Some do look better with short hair.But I do like a nice short cut on my mate. | |
