Well, you must not be using much imagination if long hair is gettin' in the way during sexy times. Long hair is one of the best "props" you can employ when you're intimate - I couldn't even begin to describe how useful it can be. If it's long enough, you can tie someone's wrists with it......And there's nothing quite like being "dragged by the hair back to the cave......"

Posted: 9/8/2009 11:23:06 PM | Okay I have long hair but not because I think it is pleasing to the eye or because I think it makes me look young etc...It is simple logistics on my part. I've got kids, a full time job, pets and a house to keep not to mention the yard work. My hair is long simply because I don't have the time (and can't justify) the time/cost it would take to get it cut short and all the styling products that go along with a short 'do. Mine is about 4 inches above my waist right now which means if I'm running late for work an appoint or whatever I can leave it down or toss it in a ponytail with out having to worry about mouse, hair spray or anything else. For me long hair is the answer to time crunch and well, because I am still a bit of a tomboy I at least LOOK like a girl  | |

The only people who ever say they think I should cut it are my mother ( she has that old lady cut and my dad is constantly pressuring her to let hers grow out, and I think she is just jealous), my ex-hairdresser (she is scissor happy, and once cut my bangs way too short and it took 6 months for them to grow out, and then cut 4 inches off of the length I think out of spite-needless to say I will never go back to her again-she has a horribly short haircut herself), and my daughter, who has shoulder length hair and goes between wanting us to get matching funky haircuts (Hell NO!) and wanting me to let it keep growing!
My boyfriend would shit bricks if I cut it off, he loves it long, and so do I. People actually stop me on the street to compliment me on my hair, so I'm letting it grow back to waist length. It's about halfway down my back now, and I love it. I can do anything with it, and it is easy to maintain. I had it short once back in 2000 and I looked like a dyke and I cried all the time that I had no hair. I will never do that again. I wouldn't have done it then, but my hair got totally ruined by an amateur trying to color it dark for a theatre show, then trying to get the color out...totally ruined it and it was breaking off, there was nothing to do but cut it all off. It was totally traumatic.

Posted: 9/9/2009 5:06:38 AM | While I prefer my hair long, at least shoulder length, it is clear to me that so does my man. Recently I had my hair highlights updated, and had them trim it. They took more hair off than I expected and I was upset with the result. My boyfriend said it looked fine, that I had "plenty of hair."
The next week when I went to have my usual weekly style and shampoo, he said, "you are not getting it cut again, are you?" It was clear to me that he liked it long and the week before the trim took it to a minimally acceptable length for his taste. We are both on the same page as to what looks best.
Every time I have my hair cut short I end up regretting it and swearing I will never do it again. I like my hair long. My hair is healthy and looks good this length. My man likes it long.
I do not understand the need for some women to pressure other women to conforming with a short style when they reach a certain age. I think its plain silly. | |

What would happen if one day you woke up and lost all your hair, would you even be able to leave your house? The package on the outside may have changed but the package on the inside is still the same, you're still you!! And long hair or short hair doesn't make you more or less feminine, it's all in the attitude. Just be you, enjoy life, wear your hair the way YOU want to not the way someone else thinks you should. | |

Most girls between the ages of 2-10 have their hair length and style choosen by their mothers. If one drives by a school, playground, church or shopping facility the majority of these young girls have long hair. Why do the mothers choose to have their daughters hair length long but the mothers, usually, have their own hair short?
I know there will be exceptions but overall what we see in society are little girls with long hair. Ladies why is your hair short but your daughters hair long?

There are lot's of male characterictics, why do women focus on just a few. "Because, to women, some male characteristics stand out more than others".
By now I believe most women realise that men are "VERY" visual oriented and long hair is very dominent to us. If the ladies don't like this characteristic complain to the devine engineer who designed and programmed us (and I'm not talking about our parents). It's part of us and it's not going to change. There are characteristics about women that men don't particularly like but it's part of your make up and our complaining does nothing more than alienate us from you. Verbally emasculating a man for this won't change anything. Telling us to look past this is like men asking, "why do women have to be so emotional"? Because it's part of what makes you a woman and no amount of griping on our part will change it. We understand and occassionally make jokes about this.

While that's true, I'm more bothered with being expected to accept the things these particular women can control, but won't.
Hair length isn't an issue for me, since the women I choose to date look good (to me) either way. I can agree that a lot of women do appear more feminine with long hair, but can't say that the reason they do is a compliment. | |

Posted: 9/9/2009 10:31:50 PM | My Ex had really long hair, was getting close to her knees, and it was very thick and heavy. Heavy enough to cause some neck pain. Washing it took her about an hour. Once in a while I'd tell her to get it cut but she never did. In part because I liked long hair and it was beautiful. She'd get compliments from people all the time. And, as one lady pointed out, the long hair was quite useful in the bedroom.

Posted: 9/9/2009 11:22:10 PM | I have very thick, very long hair... I don't see how some of these women can claim its hard to take care of, if you use the right shampoo, conditioner, and after-shower products, its very easy to maintain....
my hiar is just above my butt.... anything above my elbows when my arms are at my side is waay too short... i could never imagine cutting it short... ever. As for neck pain, as most women use as another excuse.... the only reason your neck hurts is because it isn't strong enough to hold the weight of your hair... excercise works wonders..... but theres really nothing you can say to a woman who's too lazy to properly take care of long hair.... claim your life is crazy, your kids don't allow you time, whatever... all excuses... you're just too lazy to tend to something you're meant to take care of.....
might just be me, and the way I was raised (I'm part Sioux, and its a very big part of my life)... but women are supposed to have long, flowing, beautiful hair... my grandmothers hair was below her tush up until the day she died... and thats the way it should be... but again, thats just me.... maybe I'm just old fashioned | |

As adults , hair color , blow dring and straightening causes breakage and split ends. So if the hair is not pretty it looks better short. Plus all the day time talk shows tell us older gals that short hair makes us look younger. And who doesnt want to look younger? | |
