Posted: 9/19/2009 7:00:16 PM | Long hair is not for everyone, and it can be feminine/sexy if it is well-maintained. I love it because I can do many things with it. Although there are times that I'm not in the mood to fuss with it and I can always slick it back and voila!
However, I must say there are sexy short haircuts as well. Look at Halle Berry, and others........sexy and very feminine. It depends on one's texture of hair/cut, lifestyle, and how well you maintain it. | |

Posted: 9/19/2009 7:59:53 PM | My hair is down to my butt and I spend zero time on it beyond 2 minutes washing it. shorter haircuts and "styled" cuts take alot more time! Because it's curly the only thing I ever do is on humid days I put a straightener in it to keep away the frizzies! I get a haircut maybe once a year if that - so I don't understand people saying it's so hard to take care of! Of course when I was younger I hated it and spent years cutting it & fighting the curls!
I keep it long because it's simple, and I don't like being tied to a haircut schedule - but I consider it a side benefit that guys find it sexy! | |

I'm responding to particular posts and people that say longer hair IS more attractive not that they "think" it's more attractive. This tells me they see it as a fact but they are completely deluded and narrow minded because that isn't always the case with every woman.
It's clearly not a FACT that they are expressing, it's a personal anecdote. Everyone seems to understand that here. No one accepts that long hair or short hair makes anyone look better or worse - it's all just the personal preferences or lifestyle of the wearer or the preference of the person admiring someone with hair that they like. Yes, some people have got a hair fetish too.
Unless you can prove that other people posting here are actually "deluded and narrow minded" (your words), your statement that they are deluded and narrow-minded is also an OPINION rather than a fact - get it yet? So........pot, meet kettle.....

I am not aware that anyone has stated that. Some of us (myself included) have stated a preference for long hair on women. I can only speak for myself, but for me long hair on a woman would be shoulder length or longer. For some, long would probably be defined much differently. Many men do prefer women with hair longer than their own hair. That is not to say that we wouldn't be interested in a woman with short hair. However, with that being said, we still may be more interested in a woman with longer hair. If there were two women that I saw at a singles event and one has ear-length hair cut and one has SL length hair with all other being equal, I would be more inclined to approach the woman with longer hair. IMO, long hair on a woman is generally more attractive than short hair. | |

As women get older and hormones change (pregnancy, menopause, yada yada) hair thins. Keeping it short tends to make the hair look less thin. Which is why so many women get shorter hair as they get older. | |

I have had both long and short hair i personally like to grow it long and then cut it short so i can donate it but anyway. i think a lot of women are going shorter because life is too busy and it is easier to work with but we all need to learn to slow down and put more care into things i know i do anyway. | |

But then again I love everything about myself LOL why not my hair ;) and it isn't any harder to look after than short hair, you still need to wash it and comb it just the same.

I cover my grays and have a nice cut..the women here have beautifull hair..long or short..old or young..most of us try to look our best...
You should stick to the 25 yr olds.. makes the weeding out process easier for us.
Though I don't believe most 25 yr olds would tolerate your jerk comments for too long either.

Very long hair on a woman is attractive because it takes emphasis away from their face.
Very long hair that's healthy, cut and styled well, is beautiful. But so are well manicured nails and cuticles. Beautiful breasts on a woman are beautiful, but they're just breasts. None of them are the deal breakers for "beauty".
It's just hair. You can take a nice hairstyle and transpose it on anyone's face and it's still only nice "hair".
It can add another attractive "element" to a woman, but it won't transform a woman in attractiveness or add to her femininity.
Me ...I should probably have it right down to my ass, but I have had kids and im far, far too lazy to be bothering to do my hair when, I could just be watching Jerry Springer re-runs and eating cake.

I happen to very much like your hair cut. I think it looks great on you whether you'd be wearing jeans and a t shirt, or if you were dressed for a fancy dinner party. I looked at your pics and am having a hard time picturing you with long hair.
There's a ton of women I think are absolutely stunning with short hair. | |

Maybe some people think that women that have went short look better, but I do not. All those examples I was given do not look better to me with short hair.

Really. Apparently you haven't read many profiles from women on here. For many of them height is a rigid requirement that they will not give an inch on (pardon the pun). What I have stated is a preference for women with long hair (defined by me as SL or longer; maybe much different for other guys). This is a preference of mine, but not a requirement. However, when it says on many women's profiles that they will not date anyone under 5'9 or 6'0 or 6'3, that sounds suspiciously like a requirement, don't you think?

Wow. Your 'my way or the highway' mentality seems to be much more narrow minded than my personal preferences. Here you are calling me narrow minded because I don't agree with your personal preferences. There is a reason they are called personal preferences, because they are personal. Personally I don't see the obsession with equating hair length with looks. It has no bearing on an attractive face, body or personality. Short or long may add a bit more or a bit less to an overall look but that's about it. It's sort of like refusing to date someone because of nail length. As far as the height thing goes, I don't notice it very much myself, but then again maybe they just aren't telling me. Either way I win because I have no desire to date anyone who's a big enough fu**head to judge my worth as a human being based on a few inches in height. It would be like me judging a woman's character by her bra size alone and nothing else. That would make me a vapid empty shell and a giant fu**head. | |

Posted: 9/30/2009 8:41:49 PM | I think some women look better with long hair, and some women look better with short hair. Over a lifetime most women have experimented with both and chosen a style that suits them, for whatever reason.
It is ok for a man to like long hair on a woman. It is ok for men who prefer long hair to self select and only date women with long hair. Likewise, it is ok for men to find a short haircut attractive. We each have different taste.
I happen to like my hair long. My mom hates it and is always needling me to cut it short. She thinks all women a certain age should wear their hair short. My boyfriend likes my long hair. It is nice that he and I are in aggreement, however, it is MY hair.
I am the one who has to maintain it, so I am the one who gets to choose how I will wear it. If I cut my hair short and he left me for that reason then his affection would be very shallow. I don't think that is likely to happen. For now its a mute point. | |
