Posted: 7/2/2007 10:02:50 AM | never rule anything out... a huge amount of people have found love through POF... and if you have not found that "special someone" you have made a friend... and sometimes a lifetime one... we are on here to meet people that we rarely have a chance to otherwise... its free and its enjoyable (addictive for some)... people from all walks of life... now how interesting is that!

| Is it possible to actually meet a partner online? Posted: 7/2/2007 12:05:31 PM | I am beginning to wonder if it is possible to meet a partner at all. When I am out and about around town I usually talk to about one or two women a day but nothing seems to happen. I never seem to get any dates. | |

| Is it possible to actually meet a partner online? Posted: 7/2/2007 1:13:29 PM | I've been using net dating for over 6 years now. The longest net relationship i have had has been 8 months. Seems there is a lot of 'messed up people' , bitterness and people not over thier x's, so they can't move on in life. Every single guy i have dated, has been bitter, scared (but there again aren't we all sometimes) or not over thier pasts.
Maybe one day will come across someone who is pretty chilled out, doesn't have emotional baggage with x's.........who knows...... The world is your oyster....
At the moment though, what with going to college, looking after the kids, and fingers crossed hopefully starting a new job in sept, i don't honestly think i will have time for a relationship......but i had taken the more relaxed approach ages ago.
What will happen, will be.......
It's definitely a journey lol

| Is it possible to actually meet a partner online? Posted: 7/2/2007 1:27:34 PM | I think what we are finding is that starting relationships online is no different from those in the real world.
It may be easier to get started chatting online, but when you get to know people, and the can of worms open and the beans are spilt, its just as difficult

| Is it possible to actually meet a partner online? Posted: 7/2/2007 1:30:56 PM | | I think it's possible, sure. Not that I've had a great deal of success or anything, but you never know. Someone I know met their husband through a personal ad, so it's as likely to work out as anything else, I guess. | |

It makes me wonder how many on here, have filled our single lives that full with commitments and routine, that although we joined a dating site, in reality we do not have time to date..............

| Is it possible to actually meet a partner online? Posted: 7/2/2007 2:20:38 PM | Keep an open mind, anything could happen. As an earlier poster said, make use of the site by being involved in the forums and the meets. I've made friends from the site who have become very dear to me and are now a part of my life. I've seen couples come together at the meets, some are still together, some are not but it shows that it CAN happen.
It'll happen when it happens and not before (as my Granny used to say).

I've met a lot of people who say they have time, and they clearly don't.
Well, it's not been that for me all the time, only till recently, i have now pushed it to the back of my mind, and focusing on other things. Well, 6+ years is a long time to hopefully come across the 'right' person...... It's ironic, as the guys who i've dated before want to know me now, and have a second chance! But, that's in the past, moved on heaps since then.
It will happen when i've become so busy

| Is it possible to actually meet a partner online? Posted: 7/2/2007 3:13:55 PM | I've been dating online for 18 months, on and off. I've made some good friends, had some great dates, some lousy dates, a few short-term relationships and a good longish relationship which ended because we wanted different things but we're still friends. Overall I'd say that's a pretty good result!
But will I meet "The One" online? Who knows! I could just as easily meet her in Tesco as on a dating site. Doesn't really matter in the end. If I stop looking I'll never find her!

| Is it possible to actually meet a partner online? Posted: 7/2/2007 3:34:35 PM | Personally i doubt it.
Everyone i get talking to either turns out to be a nutter or wanting payment somewhere down the line.
Could be just me but i am thinking you have to be very lucky to get talking to a normal person.
Well done those who have.

| Is it possible to actually meet a partner online? Posted: 7/4/2007 8:26:30 AM | I met my other half on here six months ago, sadly I told him my address and phone number and now I can't get rid. He comes down when I invite him and makes me feel special and loved and he's got a lovely bottom. It's crap, you really can't meet decent men online, sex sex sex. We're doomed to whipping our flaps out on cam for all eternity.
Oh no, I'm being smug, ner ner na ner ner.
