Posted: 7/31/2006 4:04:36 PM | Well, I really hate that Bent has quit. I really thought what him and knock_knock started was a wonderful thing. It was bringing alot of friends together for a good time and even some relationships forming. I really do hope that this doesnt stop and that someone else will take it over. I will help out anytime. I beleive we have all become good friends and sticking together to make this continue and everyone helping will make it happen.

I have already talked to BENT.....he is still involved with our Sunday gatherings.....he is just burnt out and needs to step back for awhile. He is not mad at anyone, he thinks the world of all the regulars and others too. Now....Bent was our leader....and I know that my name is now at the top of this thread.....but we do not need a "leader".....we NEED a TEAM!! Some of you have already started stepping up.....THANK YOU!! We were a team Saturday night.....so many people stepped up, and we need to continue to do so. This is still going to work, if not become even more successful than it already is!!
So now I say......my sista's from anotha mista's and my brotha's from other motha's......we unite!!! Anyone that wants to be involved, please e-mail me (guys....you'll have to e-mail me at Metrosexual@sbcglobal.net.......you can quit laughing now, LOL!!)

I'm planning on it!
Gene will be greatly missed and hopefully will get over whatever the problem is and come back. But, if he doesn't (and I truly hope that he will) it would be a real shame to lose the friendships that have been started.
Maybe he was overwhelmed! I thought we had all made it known that we were willing to help with anything... Regardless of who heads things... the offer is still open for whatever is needed at any time!
And I'm really looking forward to seeing everyone on Sunday!!! | |

Posted: 7/31/2006 7:41:22 PM | That's right, just like Rob said, Gene is Not mad at anyone or from anything he just needs to step back and take a break from it all for awhile - he has worked hard for a long time alone and it isn't easy. Anyone would get burned out if they worked as hard as he has to please us all and bring us together to meet people and make new friends. He does a Great job at it all - but it is tiring - and he wanted to take a step down for awhile. He is still with us he is watching us from afar...he will always be our "Big Brother!"
How true is that? No, we dont need a Leader, just Team Work, Together we can make it happen and be a success!!!! Let's all stick together and make our Big Brother proud!    | |

Anyway.....I just want to say again that Bent is NOT gone.....he's there in the shadows.....and when the time is right....he'll be back in any capacity that he wants to be. He will always be well regarded as the Founder and Big Brother of what we have going.
I will be meeting with him later this week, so he can hand over some of the material that we need. A few of us will need to meet Saturday or early Sunday to get the name tags together and make sure we have prizes set up. This week we can keep it simple and just do what we have always done on Sunday's, just the pool tournament and then just hang out. Speaking of which.....Lonie....did Gene send you the templates for the pool tournament??
As we meet, we can look at adding or subtracting to what we want to do on Sunday's....and we VOTE on it.....like I was telling Knock Knock....this is a TEAM.....and we will make decisions that way. Is everyone with me on that??!! I hope so!!

I just checked out the Day at the Races thread.....we NEED to get more participation there. There are only 13 people signed up!!! People.....for $39 (before Aug 13th) you can have an AWESOME time......includes lunch at Lucky's......booze on the bus.....grouped together at the race.....c'mon.....even if you don't like racing.....it's still a great time hangin with friends!! Let's start talkin this up this Sunday and let's start talking it up to the people that you all have been chattin with on this site. Thanks in advance for your help!! | |
