| What happened to the great PIZZA In Montreal, Not Chinese? :-( Posted: 4/14/2007 9:17:06 PM | scatterbrain, my recipe has sugar in the dough, sugar in the sauce, salt in both also, pepperoni is spicy, and double mozzarella is kinda fattening, so who will die first? its a toss up , as both 'mafias' are pretty dangerous. and be merry! | |

| What happened to the great PIZZA In Montreal, Not Chinese? :-( Posted: 5/10/2007 12:00:43 PM | I was at the Pizza Hut in Quebec City on Blvd Hamel a couple months back. That non-stick aerosol that they use on the pizza pan so the pizza doesn't stick to it when it goes through the oven; You know, the can that looks like hair spray?
The little f'ing b@stard that made our pie sprayed it all over the top of our pizza. Repeatedly, so there was a layer about 2-3 mm thick. The pizza tasted like degreaser. I was VERY angry, but had gotten it to go.
Now I buy my pizza at Dominos every time.

Their pizza used to be good, but now it sucks. Pizza Fiorre on Lacombe in Cote Des Neiges (I used to live there) offers the very best in fire oven baked, flat crust and craft pizza goodness. I recommend the parmesana pizza. Mmmmmmmm.....

| What happened to the great pizza in Montreal? Posted: 8/6/2007 3:09:19 PM | Unfortunatly like everything else pizza have turned into a fast pace industrie, or it seems so, it's like people are in such a ruch today that they have developped a taste for thin crust frozen pizza dough, and the art of making pizza has somewhat disapeared, I remember when i was a kid and use to go pick-up a pizza with my dad, i just sat there looking at the pizzaman taking flour and a few drops of water the needing the dough on the counter, then he would make a bqall that he would crush with his fist, and then he would take the pancaked dough and start twirling it in the air and no matter was size the pizza he would never use mesuring cup yet he end up with just the right amount of dough everytime, now it's all frozen and premesured, you can even buy the restaurant pizza in the frozen section of some supermarkets. There are still some rare pizza places that use fresh dough or it seams, i think pendelis on van horne still uses fresh dough but would bet on it. Ever since Mc Donalds tryied to get in the pizza market it change the real stuff forever, even though that endever only lasted a year or two, it still managed to kill the real pizza's.
Back in the late 70's early 80's not everyone will remember but Pizza Hut tryed to come to montreal and back then people didn'tlike frozen pizza therefore they never really took to it, but then in the early to mid 90's came Domino's pizza with there 30minutes or it free delivery policy, that started the frozen revolution, and Mcdonald's tryed to jump on the ban wagon ,and that when Pizza Hut made a comeback too.
People are so use to frozen Pizza's in restaurants now a days, that there even an ad on Tv that dares compare frozen pizza to delivery, how silly is that.
Maybe someday someone will bring back the not frozen stuff.
So if anyone found a real (Made from scratch) good pizza let us know by posting here.
A good place for pizza in Ottawa is Loui's.
SO is it DELIVERY OR is it DELISIO"S ??
