What happened to the great pizza in Montreal?

lived in montreal for 5 years and was never able to find just a decent pizza. it ranged from average to mediocre.

so what i usually did is get myself a couple of Del Maestro at the groceries. those were actually better than the supposedly better pizzerias.

altho montreal is not the best place for pizza (i didn't go at the ones you guys are talking about in Lasalle and emard), the further south you go towards the south shore. the better the pizza.
st-hubert, laprairie and finally IMHO, the best place for pizza, st-jean (25 minutes SE Montreal)

in st-jean, there's St-Jean Pizzeria, st-luc pizzeria, richelieu pizzeria and Luigi. they all have their own distinct sauce and they are all VERY GREASY. mmmmmmmmh. 4 different brothers own each pizzerias... and they all hate each other's guts! gotta love the family...

anyway. i miss quebec style pizza.

CONNIE PIZZA
801 RUE CHARLEVOIX
MONTRÉAL, QC H3K 2Y5
(514) 932-2045

The owners a total**** but wow - what an amazing Pizza.

Not like Italian Pizza at all - This one's got flavor, spices, grease and all the other stuff that will clog your artieries :P

2nd Choice : New System Restaurant
3419 RUE NOTRE-DAME OUEST, MONTRÉAL, QC H4C 1P3 - (514) 932-1484

I tried Pizza from all over Montreal - These places make them with flavor - and Old school - Not that box tasting stuff. Tell me what you think :)

Was a time you could get a great pizza on any corner! Now with all the franchise BS and the automated ovens, It's just not the same. You can still find a good slice here and there but with the competition on price the quality is just not there anymore.
My uncle George makes the best pizza but he moved to Greece and took the oven with him.

There are 2 great pizza parlours in my neck of the woods. The first is Nino's on Monk blvd, the other is called Ville-Emard pizza on Laurendeau street. They are both more expensive and don't do the 2 for 1 deals... but then again, one gets what one pays for.

Man is it possible no one knows how to make a great pizza in Cote-Ste-Luc, It really sucks over here, I’ve been trying pizza around here for three years and they all suck big time. I always have to drive all the way too little Italy to get a good pizza.
