There are two regular doors at this club. One for SUNDANCE. One for CRAWDADDYS. An arch inside connects them. Outside on the left is a huge patio with a stage and a covered full service bar with two TV screens.
The patio has a gate, There will be a large sign:
POFers

Plenty of Fish
Meet n Music
(no cover charge for us)
There at that entry gate will be a table. Everybody who signs up on this thread I will have a peel n stick PLENTY OF FISH name tag with your ID on it. If you want, with a marker you can add your first name. (Ill have blank ones there too) Activities will be going on right from the start. Country dance lessons at 7:30. Couple dancing on the other side also at 7:30. Karaoke starts at 8pm. At 9:30 pop country dancing starts.
You can buy PIZZA or SUBS
First of all, anyone with a name tag on is a POFer and came to have fun, meet others, and find an activity that makes them smile. I will work hard at encouraging others to mingle. I am a dancer and I intend to dance all night with as many ladies as possible (smile)
There are lots of pool tables in two rooms. There is a bull ride. And tables all through the club. 5 bars
Ya pays your money (FREE) and ya takes your chances. This is where several open minded people are coming out to meet others to have a good time.

Owners are opening doors to this club at 2:15 on Saturday Sept 2nd for the opening OHIO STATE FOOTBALL GAME. Game is set for 3:30.
Scarlet Saturdays at the SUNDANCE
Every day time game all season long POFers can come and join other singles here to back the BUCKS. 20 SCREENS & DANCING TOO!!!!! Pofers name tags will be handed out.

Posted: 8/14/2006 5:38:05 PM | As all across America, clubs can hire off duty police to work security at events. They do not bring a police cruiser. They are there for a security presence. They are working for the club. They are not there to hassle anyone.
There are 800,000 people in central Ohio. Plenty of people for all kinds of activities and venues. This venue will be fun.  | |

Posted: 8/15/2006 9:21:41 AM | Sounds like they really fixed the place up. I was there when it was the old place. It had its problems but wasn't any worse then other establishments of its type. My sister had a bachlorette shower there. I would have went to the old place for a meet and greet.
You can get killed crossing the street or doing any number of things. Shootings in Columbus are usually drug, gang or cheating/stealing related. That can happen just about anywhere. Take precautions (like you should do if you have half a brain)as you would anywhere at night.
If I can make it I will definitely be there.

Posted: 8/15/2006 7:55:01 PM | There are all kinds of likes and dislikes in this world. Thats why there are tens of thousands of music albums on sale today. Why on a major road there might be 30 places to eat. Why in the central Ohio area there are several thousand places to go on a Friday or Saturday night.
There are these childish people who actually believe if you want to choose to go do something different from what they are doing that they can call you names.
Two different venues. These other people are trying to tell me that only one function can exist. Were not even on the same days!!!!!
The other venue has live music and no dance floor. Some people like that. Sit and eat, drink and listen. Thousands of people in central Ohio go to places like that and enjoy themselves.
Some of us are DANCERS!!!!!! Who want real DANCE FLOORS. And a mix of music for DANCING. Soooooooooo. , you know, I just am the "wanna be" - "loser" who when some POFers said they wished a real dance night could be held decided that even though it was a totally different function just maybe somebody might like to choose to come.
So, keep swearing at me in emails. I do not care. Were gonna go dancing. And were all gonna have a real great time. And it looks like I will not be dancing alone.

You do make your point that there are many places to eat BUT you don't see other people taking a Name Like McDonalds and open their own place and call it McDowells and hope to serve the same taste and fun ! No matter what side of town you open it on there was always the place that was originally started it !! But that is Just my thought !!   | |

Ronnie, you and I spoke on the night of our BIG BASH in July... you went against your WORD as a 'gentleman'... and you know what I am talking about... You tried to get ME to host this on your behalf and on behalf of the owners/management of this venue... hmm, was I offered payment? I think I turned down the offers to host at this venue...
I do what I do for the Central Ohio PoF'ers because I believe in what I am doing and those around me have chosen to believe in what we do... Bring good people together for a good time. I do it because I care enough to do it... that is why we are as successful as we are... Not for any other reason... I have met the most terrific woman and I could 'officially' walk away from PoF... However, her and I met here and she believes in what we do as well... My point, I wont turn my back on my friends and those I find dear to me.
I've lived in Columbus since 1987 and I know DALLAS or SUNDANCE very well... A wolf dressed as a sheep is still a wolf... even if given a bath.
I hope your gathering is a success... I agree CHOICE is a GREAT THING!... I choose not to attend your event, same as I hope you'll choose not to attend ours...
I've been ignoring this post for some time... however when you want to start slinging mud at those around me... you better understand that I will stand up and bring the issue DIRECTLY to you... If you have something to say to me... then please by all means...
To my dear friends... PLEASE do not be offended, as I am not... I think it IS important that we have a CHOICE... I wish all who attend this event a GRAND and wonderful evening... you deserve it!... Have fun, be happy and be safe... I know it is difficult to host such a LARGE event... we had over 300 on July 29th and 80 this past Sunday alone... Yes, I think Ronnie's idea of an alternate venue is well warranted... | |

I appreciate the above post. Luckys is a beautifil venue. Located up in the NW corner of the area just west of the I-270 outer belt. If your a gamer, a pool player, WOW!!! This is da club!!! If you like to listen to live music up close. WOW!!! this is also a nice club to do it in.
Great food. Really nice patio. And big right out front parking lot.
Obviously a lot of the approx 900 POFers in the immed area have attended functions there, and will continue to do so. There are about 2000 POFers close enough to both of these clubs to easily drive in.
The clubs are totally different. As far as you can go in the opposite direction SOUTHEAST towards Reynoldsburg you find Brice Rd. Locally, Gahanna, Pataskala, Heath, Newark, Pickerington and of course Reynoldsburg close by. People from Lancaster, Wash. Court House, even Cleveland are driving in for our first MEET N DANCE. WHY????? Because both dancers and karaoke people can be fanatics.
This venue and meet was driven by conversations with several POFers who are dancers. It was not even my idea to promote it. Couple ladies and a gentleman who already go to this club brought it up to me. I talked to the owners and away we went, running with the concept.
Theres dancing on the patio. The karaoke room has a sunken dance floor. Thats right, this venue has a complete room, levels, stage, booth, dance floor & full bar open early until close for JUST KARAOKE!!! Ever see that anywhere before? Then a 50X50 dance floor on country side and a 45X40 ft floor on the pop side. THAT FOUR PLACES TO DANCE!!!
I am sorry that people got angry that we opened up these opportunities to POFers. It is sad that so many had to be negative. But, I will not apologise for standing up and defending our right to put together dancing and karaoke nights and ask POFers if they would like to join us. | |

Posted: 8/16/2006 1:54:08 PM | Cingular, you are the most awesome friend that I have ever met and it is very apparent to each of us that know you that you care about us and not just making money for someone. You stand up for what you believe in and every one of us would stand up with you.
The one thing that you made sure of when hosting our event is that NO ONE was feeling left out, whether they showed up with someone or alone, you brought them right into the group and made them feel welcome. And even though I have found what I want, we will both be coming back continuously because of you and the rest of our friends.
ISO, I wouldn't exactly say that the line dance has to be danced alone, lol. If you look at our photos of last Sunday, you will see that it can be done as a couple, ask Lonie
And I could swear that there was a dance floor at Lucky's, wasn't there?? I wasn't drinking that night so I am almost 100% sure that what we were dancing on wasn't the table  | |

I JUST REREAD the above post by CINGULAR. He must have me mistaken for somebody else. I spoke to him TWICE. Each time for less than 30 seconds.
At that time I had not spoken to anybody at the SUNDANCE about these POFer events. I went with my "leathers", my dancing shoes on. And braces on both knees. I AM A DANCER. I had already spoken to two other POFERS about going to Luckys to go dancing. I was really looking forward to it. OOOPS - no dance floor.
I sat at Luckys for about 45 minutes talking to a close friend. I talked for 3 minutes to a POFer also from Lancaster. I talked to one lady for one minute. Outside walking to my car to go dancing I talked to a lady walking with me who said she had wanted to dance with me.
I did not even have it in my mind at that point to do this. I did mention to several people that I dance down at the Sundance facility. Including CINGULAR. He made negative comments about it. But in no way did I discuss business with him. I did mention I like dancing there and I thought it would be a good location. He got angry. I walked away.
I ASKED NO ONE TO PUT AN EVENT THERE. I HAVE NO FINANCIAL INTEREST IN THE SUNDANCE. I AM GETTING NO MONEY TO DO THIS. ON MY REGULAR DANCE NIGHTS I STILL PAY A COVER CHARGE TO GET IN. I DID NOT THINK OF DOING THIS UNTIL ONE WEEK LATER AT THE SUNDANCE WHILE TALKING TO A FEW OTHER POFERS.
Now I will not call cingular a liar as I just noticed he did of me. But, what he said DID NOT OCCUR. He must be mistaken.
He just told me not to come to Luckys. OK.
But anybody can come and sing n dance with us down in Reynoldsburg and several of us will work at seeing you have a good time. | |

I had to laugh about the wolf/sheep comment too.....tff. I started DJ'ing for the owners of Sundance in 1974 at King Tuts.....then 2 of their other clubs...and back east at East Dallas. My old partner and i put in the sound and lights in 1983.........same system is in there now......I know I peeked in last Friday night...... I guess life is about choices too.....I live 2 miles from Sundance........and go to other dance venues.....my choice. I choose to head Northwest on Sundays though.......to meet and greet those POF'ers.
I'm not taking sides here......although I did ask Cingular about EastSide events......I'm not a boat rocker.............unless the person in the boat is a hotty.......
I guess if Lancaster is your home and alot of others live southeast......why not The Tavern at the Mill....????????????????? | |

We all know the truth to that one and we all know that Cingular isn't getting paid to promote what he is promoting, so pipe down. And just as an FYI, Cingular doesn't get angry unless he has a reason to be, he turns away from negativity of any kind unless he feels that he has to face it. So for you to say that he got 'angry' when you mentioned this is just plain BS - capital letters.
But, before you go putting down Lucky's, you might want to make sure you know what you are talking about. It is very apparent you haven't been there or you are just plain blind and didn't see the dance floor.
When I first saw your event, I thought it was a great idea and it never hurts to have more chances for people to meet each other. I decided not to go based solely on you and the attitude that you portrayed in this forum. But I wish everyone going to your gathering luck on finding what they want.
And Petey, you are awesome hun!! Keep coming back, we all luv ya!! | |
