Unfortunately I will be on my way to Canada to meet a friend  I have never seen before. Wish me well. I will be looking forward to coming to the next one.

Posted: 8/18/2006 10:39:04 AM | A POFer friend asked me to go to another POF event this weekend to the Mountaineer gaming resort complex over in WV near the Ohio border. Sounded like fun. My friend signed up. Noticed a few fishies from central Ohio also were going.
I got two emails saying I should go over to the Mountaineer thread, scroll down towards the bottom and read the posting by the host mod of this event. Told me I was sortof mentioned.
Well, soon as I read that mods posting I said 100% I am going to join this lady for horse racing, a little gambling, casino food and dancing, I think at RAV'S???

Real dancers have at least one pair of dancing shoes. If you really do not have at least one pair you specifically refer to as your "dancing shoes" you probably are not really a dancer.

If you wanna really dance in Columbus, try Columbus light.....all the old crowd from****Clarks go there weekly......or try Puckers on the eastside ( 5 minutes from Sundance) .....more than a few Arthur Murray instructors and students head there on Friday nights...... I think you'd be impressed.......or at least i am when a man spins a women, lifts her over his head, and brings her down...all in perfect timing. And yes they all wear their dancing shoes. Alot of East Coast Swing., West Coast type of stuff. | |

We used to drive up there from Lancaster once a week. 75 minutes one way to go dancing.
I was the ol bald headed white bearded guy who ripped, ugh, er, with braces on. Without braces its my ligs n tendons that rip now.
First a latex sleeve, ea knee. Then a woven smooth brace over ea one of those.
THEN
Heavy McDavids, with crisscross velco straps, and overlapping tightenings.
3 braces, on each knee.
FANANTIC - but its sooooooo much fun.
Ya I love ball room. But, I love hip hop too.

I guess I was like a volcano errupting. I am normally a very easy gong, laid back person. But, being a Taurus..we can be pushed only so far.

Maybe you and your friend..could add some input.

Ronnie, think the band starts in the main Casino around 8ish or 9ish. They have a small area close to the jazzy band.

Posted: 8/19/2006 12:41:32 AM | Well yes. This club can handle 1000 people. It has about 90 country folk early on third fridays and about 10 karaoke. No more than 15 on pop side.
Then at 10pm many more come. Usually 25 in K room, 130 in country room. 45 on pop side. Saturdays is twice or more this figure. Of course the two big weekends out of each month its much higher in attendance.
Talked with owners again tonight. Plan is as stated do the 3rd Friday of each month out into the future. We will have full access with DJ on one side playing our couples music. Right up to 10pm And of course country on the other side.
If this grows huge by next summer we will have POFer only Karaoke on the patio (weather permitting) starting right at 7:30 till 11:30. Plus club karaoke too inside.
I believe with these facilities, this dual dance format, and karaoke plus a pool room we can bring a steady 300 people once a month eventually. I always want to do third Saturdays because it is the slowest weekend of every month. MORE ROOM FOR US!!!!
Looks like we might hit 100 by next Friday.

Both here on the thread & in many emails a lot of questions have been asked. Also about ten people have sent emails of "I AM COMING" without hitting the thread button.
Sunday night 6pm. As of now about 75 people are commited to come. 5 days to go. That does not include guests that might come. Fridays are much slower than Saturdays.
KARAOKE - Right now the clubs talking about starting that at 8:30. Normally its going about 9:10. As we grow the owner already stated if our karaoke meeters merit it he would go to 8:00pm. If over the next 7 months we grow and grow we will have our own POFER karaoke on the patio (weather permitting) 7:30 to 11:30 in the summer time. Last Friday there were 4 singers in the first hour, 8 in the second so the clubs not swamped. The rotation has not been long early on Fridays. About 10:45 the club starts filling up more.
LINE DANCING - LESSONS - they start about 7:40 until about 9:15. The club does a lot of line dancing 9:15 until 10:15 then they add country of all concepts. Some line dancing, some circle dancing, some couples free form inside the circle, and a few two song sets of slow country.
PATIO - full bar, plays music out on patio too. Sometimes in summer has its own live performers 7:30 to 11:30. You can dance on the patio. (and on karaoke room dance floor)
CRAWDADDYS Pop dancing side. Fridays are very slow. Saturdays much more BZ. The club has puposefully been easing out hip hop on Fridays. NO ONE COMES before 11:15 and by midnight its only 25 on Fridays. (Used to be 300 on Fridays) POFERs will have a DJ playing big sound, big voice couple dance hits from many decades. 7:30 until 10:00. The club is VERY INTERESTED IN THIS!!!. The owner told me if this is popular the club will go to a 7:30 to 10:30 Friday & Saturday concept like this, and then with a 10:30 time start of an all american dance show style dance mix till close like what used to be played at****CLARKS. In a few weeks the club will begin same phase out of hip hop on Saturdays too.
SOOOOOO. POFers. Every third Friday, once a month except Christmas or Thankgiving we will do this MEET N MUSIC N DANCE N KARAOKE at the Sundance/Crawdaddys as long as you all want to come.
I told them weeks ago I thought 70 to 80 the first one. 110 to 130 the second one. 170 to 200 the third night we hold this. Looks like that might happen. And what a great once a month POFer dance and karaoke meet n greet this could be for all of us!!!!!!!
COME EARLY!!!! The clubs basically ours for three hours. And the kitchens open at 7:30.

I am so thrilled I had the opportunity to have met you and Barbara at the Mountaineer last Saturday evening. Such wonderful people! Barbara..you are so very special! We like our slot machines! Ronnie..I have a thing for Hawaiian shirts. Loved your black and white shirt. Ladies..Ronnie is a Sean Connery look alike! Hope I spelled Sean correctly.
Forgive me Ronnie. I have to tell it like it is. You know..I am going to get gushey!
When I met you Ronnie! Was magical. Why? Was an IMMEDIATE connection. Like...where have you been? Felt I knew you for years. We didn't even need to talk to each. Was an instant thing. We both knew it! I knew I was blessed to have met such a wonderful, caring man. All we could do was laugh. What a joy it was to meet you! I knew we didn't even need to talk. I have never met such a warm, caring person. We both knew was a blending of the minds.
Was so very blessed to have met you both! Will remember the rest of my life. Am still in awe! You both have a glow! What a couple! You will be very blessed to have Ronnie and Barbara as your new PoF'er friend!
Ronnie...you have such a hugh, warm, glowing heart! Doubt if a lot of people will ever forget your presence! Your zest, joy, passion for life! I never had a brother. If I did..would sure want him to be a Ronnie.
You shared with me your joy for dancing. Wow! Had no idea..what a treat I had was in store for me..and everyone at the Mountaineer!
Wow! You both had to have been the talk of the Mountaineer.
To drive 3 hours one way..to meet me..plus allow myself and everyone at the Mountaineer such a treat of watching your dance moves. Know you brought a lot of happiness to many people. You showed them the joy of dancing. Of what fun it is. You two are very magical together. Such a joy to watch. I felt very blessed. Plus, to know...I was sitting at YOUR table. Felt like a queen!
I know your dances have to be so very successful.
Ronnie, if I danced like you..I would be skinny. You 2 have to be in terrific shape.
Barbara follows all your many moves. You two dance as if are an old married couple! lol

The next morning, I was in line for breakfast buffet. Spoke to a nice man behind me. I had on my name tag, but my back was to him. I asked him..if he was single. Asked if he ever heard of PoF. Thought maybe should recruit. He did not have on his name tag. He said he was a PoF'er. He arrived yesterday. Couldn't find any PoF'ers. Wow! I said I was hosting it. I felt so sad..as I know..we would have loved him being with our group. He had a name tag on all day Saturday. So sad he never found us! He even had a room. We were at all times..looking for PoF name tags.
Guess what he said? Ronnie..he said.."I heard there was a special man (with a Hawaiian shirt) dancing with such joy/zest for life." As if he was having so much fun! You were the talk of the place.
I will stop all the gush.
Know any PoF'ers attending any event you hold..will be blessed to meet you and Barbara.
Know I treasured the time you gave me! Was a highlight in my life.
The band was wonderful. It was a "special event" in my life. Felt so honored being in your presence. It was in the wee hours of the morning when you headed for home. Worried about you. Hope you made it safely home.
Ronnie and Barbara..hope I didn't go overboard..of what I think of you two.
Know matter how far you have to drive to attend an event of Ronnie's. Will be worth it!

I do not know what to say. Carol was so kind to all of us. We had a great time.
lancasterlady is my best friend. Barb and I have been friends six years. She dances every week at the Sundance. I was going occasionally, singing karaoke and dancing. Barb encouraged me along with a couple other POFers who dance there to do this meet. I wanted to help Barb have more cool girls to sit with and guys to dance with so I launched this event!!!
Must go to our Buckeye game day thread.
The Clubs going all out for us for the Scarlet Satururdays at the Sundance POFer event!!!
The day will just not be game on 20 screens plus dancing on one side. They are going to have a Nashville signed recording artist with new album release LIVE on the patio
AND'
A PIG ROAST!!!! WOW.
This will be THE PLACE for that Sept 2nd game to be.
See everybody this Friday, 7:30 at the Sundance.
