This has been covered. The club has an entirely different clientle, mgmt blah blah. You can see the mgmt team and owners almost all evening out front till close doing PR work with the ever growing new format patrons. I often take my dance breaks out front and sit with them. 50% of the time I do this the family has three generations of its members outside talking to the public.
Someone left same style message on the Buckeye thread about the same time this evening. Nearly identical wording.
This wonderful club is going to go all out to cater to us. They are providing us with several services just for us.
This is the finest dance club in several hundred miles. And the only club I have ever actually seen with a full time, full service karaoke club within a club. I have been a club dancer for over 40 years. I have white hair. Braces on both legs. I see no danger.
Please, to all of the POFers supporting this, do not send any negative messages anywhere.
All of this will in time blow away with the success of these meet n dances held two or three times.
I am sure someone will yell at me now for this post as if it is I who am the flamer. Duh.
I have very close friends, including my best friend ever in my life who dances here every week. I would not be doing this if I thought for one minute she or they were in danger.

It saddens me the bully sharks are still lurking in the Columbus area.

They are still creating waves in the waters of Columbus.
Tell them to go back to their shark tank.
Anyone can get killed and blood flowing in any parking lot in the world.
Anyone throwing insults at you..is just showing their fangs and ingnorance. Plus, jealous!
Bullies are a such a bore.
They are just making complete fools of themselves.
I don't even read their insulting threads anymore. Was effecting my health!
Don't want my day ruined.
Hay, they must be busy planning hosting an event for Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, etc.
Well, they can't insult me anymore..becauise of them...I will never host another event with PoF.
Personally feel Mr. BigFish should come up with a new rule when hosting a PoF event.
That insults and fangs from sharks will not be allowed. He should throw them to the curb.
Life is too short...for all the childish evil, negative crap being thrown from the Columbus crowd. What is so sad. Is just not from one person now. Is from many!
You are ruining it for singles in the whole state of Ohio...to consider hosting an event. Worried about you coming after them. I suggest you focus on your events. Leave others alone!
Ronnie just know your events will be so successful. The fishies will have such a wonderful time. Just ingnore them. Not worth your time of day.
Ronnie..you have so much class!
Will say again..sure wish you would rethink...and have your event EVERY Friday. Know the singles would love it! The sharks would really flip out!
Just thought of something. Back when I had my Rav's event. One of the things the Bent gent was upset with me..was he thought I had too many threads. Think that was one of my first insults from him.
Let's see...how many does he have...? Quite a few.
I am not going to get involved with the sharks. They did a number on my life. Just feel so sad they are allowed to continue with their evil ways.
But, think has to do with intelligence.
Their posts just makes me ill.
I promised myself I would NEVER read any of their threads of their upcoming events.
Only reading yours Ronnie.
Then had to start my day this morning with more trash from them.
You shouldn't have to defend yourself to them every moment.
What they want to do is upset you. You are such a gentleman. So very proud of how you are handling them. Plus, a loving, kind, considerate man. With so much class!

Know everyone attending your event..will have a fantastic, wonderful time. An evening they will not forget! Plus you will be SAFE! Bunch of crap about the parking lot! Where is this coming from? Do you stay awake at night...planning on your insults? Ronnie and Barbara don't deserve it!
What is so wonderful..know there will be enough parking, (no murders will happen in the parking lot.) How childish! How rude! How crude. Plus, you will have room for all attending!

Ronnie, think you need to get a digital camera. Would have loved taken photo's of you and Barbara at the Mountaineer..but are not allowed cameras in a Casino.
PS: I would suggest 'STOP' yakking about murders in the parking lot. Would be very careful! "CREEPY'! Could back-fire on you.!How? Would sure hate to think...someone is planning on commiting one from your crowd. The authorities would be called in immediately.  | |

Posted: 8/22/2006 4:36:37 AM | First off - Quit assuming that the so-called 'Columbus Sharks' even exits - the Buckeyes, Clippers, and Bluejackets - yes, but the Sharks - that's a little league baseball team here - and those little boys aren't involved. And also quit assuming that this information is (still) coming from the opposite side of town. Trouble can happen no matter where you are in Columbus and from anyone - whether associated with POF or not.
DumbRichBlonde - you say, cut it out - but yet in the same posting, basically you're slamming the other event and people involved - it needs to be cut out ALL the way around - including yourself.
ANY event being put on through POF is a wonderful opportunity to get away from home and the stressful events of every day living, and to meet people, make new friends and hang with old friends. The people putting on these events - whether east or west - should be commented for taking the time out of their busy lives to get these organized and FISHIES out meeting other FISHIES.
There are enough people in Columbus and surrounding areas and POF pond to make all events successful. Everyone has the right to attend both events or either/or and still have a great time. Quit worrying about whether there will be 'trouble' happening - have a great time no matter where you are.

Theres a word for a person who thinks that way. Fill in the blank yourself.
There keeps being comments, "cool it you guys". That assumes this is two sided. It is not. It is 100% one sided. Now, I know I will get yelled at for on my own event site telling my people to lay off others, not to attack, but still have the right to speak up or defend.
PLEASE - limit comments to positive ones or explanations. Please do not get sucked into the same level of this filth. A war takes two sides. If filth flies be poised enough not to pick it up and hurl it back.

Who says I'm not attending some of your events also.......that wasn't fair. I have been fair to both sides of the coin here. Yes, I have been going to the Lucky's events every week and consider that main fella a good friend, but I haven't been trashing your event. But as I posted previously, I haven't had the pleasure of meeting you yet.
So there is NO "sinking to the same level of this filth."? By putting those little inuendos in your postings, and clumping all of us together, then there is some sinking done. Some of us are getting tired of getting thrown into the ALL OF THE OTHER PEOPLE group when we haven't trashed either one. We are supporting both. But we are ALL getting accused of things on your site when not ALL of us have participated in the hurling back and forth.
No, I haven't signed up for this Friday because it's my weekend with my kids - otherwise, i'd be there with some of my friends who WILL be there. Nothing wrong with meeting new people each week at different venues.
Hope you all have a great time this Friday and maybe some day you'll meet me and see that everyone is different and shouldn't be all clumped into one group.

I was talking in general terms. You know this thread has been hit repeatedly by people saying harsh things. Several openly say they are not coming. Then make many direct accusations and statements that are not intended to be constructive in any way but just flaming.
I repeatedly must defend our event. And almost anything I say is jumped on as an attack when a full reading of this thread shows that is not the case. What is NOT seen on this thread are the messages that some of these people send to me privately. Very rough. Filled with vulgarities.
Repeatedly others have pleaded that those who do not want to attend should just go ahead and do that. At NO time have I ever told anyone not to come to our event or not to go to any other event. There are several hundred central Ohio POFers who love dancing. Enough to pack three clubs ON THE SAME NIGHT. But were not holding similar events on the same night.
BUT, anyone who does not believe that it is very open that several people are very very angry we are holding a dancing night out at this venue just can not be reading all the comments posted on here.
If I remained mute it would be open season for these negative comments. I did that in one 2 1/2 day period and ten people took off their commitment to come.

I thought those of you who do not know Ronnie (Charles43130) might look at this whole
situation a little differently if you knew anything at all about this man. For 5+ years I have been housebound due to an illness. I had to stop teaching first grade. I had taught for 14+
years and dearly loved it! I had tried to get help from many doctors, specialists, and physical therapists, but I was only getting worse and worse.
In the first week of January of this year I met Ronnie. I couldn't even hold my hands above my head. My color was gray and my breathing was extremely shallow. I know Ronnie didn't think I had long to live.
There was no reason for Ronnie to help me. He had no way to make any personal gain of any kind by helping me. So why did he? It has to do with the kind of human being he is! I am now (7 months later) vigorously exercising in a heated pool two days a week. Ronnie provides my transportation to the pool and is my coach. He has been the only one to provide an exercise program that builds my strength weekly without causing me injury or extreme pain.
I am almost ready to get rid of my wheelchair. I can now lift my arms above my head and pick up and hug the little children that come to visit me! I have lost about 60 lbs. and last Thursday after exercising in the pool I went out to lunch without my wheelchair, a walker, or even a cane. ALL THIS IS DUE TO RONNIE!
Ronnie would never host an event in a place that would be dangerous to anyone, especially single ladies. He is a gentleman! He is a kind, considerate human being that goes out of his way to help those in need. I know of several people he helps routinely! I am proud to call him my friend!
I am not going to this event because I am not yet able to dance, but I plan to be at the Buckeye Bash on Sept. 2 at the Sundance! Hope to get to know all you Buckeye loving Pofers at that event!
Good Luck with this event Ronnie.......I know it will be a success!!!!

When I got crushed in 89 my doctors said I would never walk again. PEOPLE. Without the love and help of so many I would be an invalid.
Just as I was up and getting off my walker, in 1993, my youngest child was given 48 hours to live - cancer. Three years of nightmare. Millions of dollars. PEOPLE. SOOOOO many helped us. Now my little girl is in college. I owe so much.
Then I fell. And as I was rehabing my broken leg, my own cancer. PEOPLE. So kind to help me. So many surgeries later here we are.
I owe so much payback, so, I do what I can. Lynn110 your words are very kind. HAH. Told ya girl, one year, you will walk a mile and back.
Club dancing is my gym. It is my workout. And I get to meet nice people. Make friends. And flirt hehehe.
I will do everything possible to see that everybody has a good time.
Plus, I like ladies in the room when I sing karaoke. | |

He has helped me too. I was ill too a few years back, very ill. without Ronnie getting me to the right doctors and on the right meds and supplements, I, too, wouldn't be here. so thanks Ronnie from all the people you help everyday and have a great event. Just maybe you will help some fishes meet the right fishies and change their lives too :)

Posted: 8/23/2006 2:50:38 PM | Well it looks like I will be attending the Sundance event on Friday night. Though I can't really dance yet I have been asked to greet people and hand out name tags. Sounds like fun because I'll get to meet all the Pofers coming to this event!
I also plan to bring my camera and take some pictures of all of you having fun!!!!!! So don't forget to bring your smiles! I also plan to enjoy the music, especially the live performance of the new country music performer on the patio. I wonder who it could be? I remember seeing Kenny Chesney at the Fairfield County Fair right before he hit it big!
We may be seeing a performance by someone who will be that famous soon. too!

He lived less then 9 months from his diagnosis and died July 4th of 2005. This will be my first night out to join other people that are also single now for whatever reason. I hope I can have a good time and start moving on with my life. I think I am ready. Hope I can make it there so I can meet some of you nice people.

I used to know all the country dances and went to Sundance regularlly a few years ago. My friend had serious knee problems and a knee replacement last year. I was hoping to get her to join me but it was a no go.
