Ever see profiles with multiple gals? Where three to six women are shown? Ever wonder which one might be her Since she has no pictures alone?
You read the descriptions She posts with a cheery grand voice "It's me with some of my friends!" Unless you're a psychic, what choice?
Then the description in "About me" "I'm the one in every photo!" The only problem is all of your friends Are there in each pic so we don't know!

The old stone sits so firm and so strong They shelter beneath it when weather goes wrong They rest agains't it when life makes them tired Or climb to the summit when they just feel wired
The stone they have carved on and left it to stand It's textures and form so worn and yet grand The stone sits alone without any more An icon supportless before what's in store

Oh how I wonder and ponder deep While talking to Dianne deprived of sleep If I had myself a pheasant feather Where is the tender point altogether?
Could she be ticklish beneath her feet? And would she tell me? Or share deciet? How can I find out the very best spot? Oh Goodness sake, what a problem I've got!
But not to worry for I am a thinker Broaching the subject I play and I tinker Then to my liking the spot meant to please Oh yes Dianne, it's the back of her knees!
Will I forget this long before the cruise? Will my mind fade out as if it's confused? Even though written down here in this poem, I'de still remember where ever I roam!

| Erik the Viking's Poetry and other gems for PoF. Posted: 12/28/2008 8:35:59 AM | That was a fast write as a test of how fast I could come up with a poem. Odd subject but it was just a few minutes to get it done.
At any rate;
- ENJOY THE DAY -

| Erik the Viking's Poetry and other gems for PoF. Posted: 12/28/2008 9:29:53 PM | Happy Holidays viking...muaah... I wanted to leave this silliness in here but you were gettin' so serious...
goggles
and onto the sidewalks of the One of a Kind… they stumble so weary, so bleary, half blind they bellow in voices that carry outside and pee anywhere there's a doorway to hide
bidding goodnight they depart the saloon and lurch toward their homes where they'll sleep until noon wearing beer goggles they won't sleep alone but the hookups they form might turn them to stone
when they hit the snooze button and roll into that face they'll cover it up with an old pillowcase all steathy attempts to escape will be met with renewed affection from their erstwhile pet
and so they depart from last evenings floozy with stomach and legs that are feeling quite woozy their pick-o-meter's left them flabbergasted they wish that their fishing pole slumbered uncasted
and so my suessels an end to this fable just leave your beer goggles at home on the table and take your wing man or wing woman with you before you wind up with thing one and thing two

The Serpent's in the attic The Norseman on the beach The wolves pace is fanatic The eyes so out of reach
The women they can see him The men can feel his will Some think he lurks in dark whim While others bent on ill
A sword lies in the closet His artwork in the Hall And memory's deposit It tries to forge a wall
His car is old and cluttered The mind is fresh and strong Before him those who shuddered See where the Gods went wrong
The animals will side him And children close in too Alone with art and music His counsel strong but few
The omnipresent matter Is shifting by his wake Before him fame will scatter To win but still mistake
To nurture Halls of Giants A poem for Queens and Kings A genius still defiant Who set his will in rings

Silent the giant in the cold sea Swimming with grace so easy and free Straining the krill from the polar flow Plankton and richness from deep below
Oh how the giant is long and sleek Powerful beauty yet gentle meek The wanderer vast in the ocean pods Just trying to live and defy the odds
Silent it seems but not if you listen So grand is the song that mankind is missin' What songs will be sung if the giant is gone? How long will the chain of life go on?

| Erik the Viking's Poetry and other gems for PoF. Posted: 1/4/2009 11:30:39 AM | always they seemed to me the guardians of this earth the gentlest gods the Gawains of honor and might whose eyes haunt me ceaselessly pleading, pleading for the insanity to stop and if you never saw that how could you not hear it in their mournful songs the plaintive wail underscoring the truth that seas are merely all their tears trying to teach us humanity | |

Posted: 1/4/2009 1:09:56 PM | no thanks ever needed for you are the gift that returned to us the balm easing past wounds and terrors i marvel at the men amassed here the sheer number, depth of them who truly have souls knowing how to heal hollow out a cave of permanent strength the weakest can find refuge in for too many years "men" was a four letter word fraught with pain and terror shrapnel to be wrenched from my flesh excoriated from the caverns of loss heavy and weighting me to fogs of misery flamethrowers torching holes in my heart bullets breaking through the viscera and bone of me but those men are now ghosts floating past these men into the hell they created and deserve these men, here, like you surrounded by an aura of gentleness gracing this space where no shadow will ever be allowed to threaten me again | |

| Erik the Viking's Poetry and other gems for PoF. Posted: 1/5/2009 12:49:21 PM | Apparently the Norwegian and the Japanese are jealous of whales, as they persist in poaching endangered whale species such as Minke and Fin whales. There is an international moratorium on commercial whaling, but the Japanese and Norwegian governments and private interests don't care. As long as there is a yen or a kroner to be made, these greedy @#!&^%!@#'s will continue to deprive the world of Cetaceans. There's more about it on my website, under eco news.

What if you opened the cereal box But found it full of cheetos? What if all that made the stocks Were blank and incognito?
What if you woke up in a pool With a gator staring? What if you set aside the race Not competion sharing?
What if the folks you thought were weak Were friends in times of need? What if you could not see the goal Or your soul was not freed?
What if the toxin from above Was seeping into you? What if you chose to lend a hand To enemies untrue?
What if the crisis in your heart Was nothing more than fear? What if you stood when counted out And made your mind so clear?
What would you do if you just changed And all your world seemed strange? Would you withdraw and hide away Or jump now rearranged?

| Erik the Viking's Poetry and other gems for PoF. Posted: 1/6/2009 4:48:24 PM | - WATER VOID -
As the winds blow strong Across the endless sea I need to stear my boat To where that land may be
I need to clear the storm Before the wave give rise Beneath the calm of sun I know the tempest lies
I follow gulls across To where the promise rests I paddle hard and strong Can I withstand the tests
The Mako looks at me As if to say "Hi Lunch!" But I am not that weak I pack a mighty punch
If only I keep strong And push beyond the pain There's got to be some land Surely I'm not insane
I know the thirst so well The sea I cannot drink This is a living Hell As I bake to the brink
The night is dark and soft When I can't take much more But then the crunch of sand In dark I've struck the shore
There are no words quite right There is no way to state The relief with the light The fade of gloomy fate

| Erik the Viking's Poetry and other gems for PoF. Posted: 1/7/2009 7:42:40 AM | - THE HAND OF A STRANGER -
The hand of a stranger writing a note While seated at Borders book store And my in an aisle looking at books My mind seeking out to explore
A movement just in my periphery A sight from my angle so grand No view of the woman to which it belongs Just a ledge and her beautiful hand
I'm not a fetish person obsessed With anyone's hands or their feet But I can admire an elegant form Like the hand that I saw from my seat
I glanced and I noted the long slender nails Painted and then glossed to a sheen The way that she held the pen as she wrote A note to my eyes just unseen
The pause as she thought and tapped her nails Like the drumming of some tiny being The way that her fingers moved once again And I thought of the hand I was seeing
I wondered a moment at her soft skin And what her fine hand may have known? I wondered if it was well held? Or if her hand was her's alone?
I wondered if it was an artistic hand? That painted or drew oh so well? I wondered if it was an athletic hand? From where I thought it's hard to tell
I thought of that hand gripped soft in mine I thought of that hand stroking face Of what her nails would feel like in hair? Of what things her hand could erase?
How odd that a hand so perfect and nice Should carry such thoughts in this place I got up and left not wanting to spoil The thoughts with a person or face
