My Pekoe would say that I have lots of love to give. (pic on profile)

Then he'd say "Enough chit-chat. Rub my tummy."

I lost my Samoyed at his 15th year. Broke my heart. Didnt think Id ever love another.....dog that is. Now I have a Eskie and this does say something about me.

1. I wear white even after fall. (Fur all over me and the house....thank goodness for my fuzz buster.)

2. I had to down size. At this age I know in 15 more years I wouldnt be able to pick up a 90 lb dog to put him in the car.

3. I have room in my heart for more than one love. I built a little grave yard for my Sammy in the woods, I walk with my Eskie and sit on the cement bear bench and share my love and my sorrow with both of them.

4. I talk to the animals....even though my Sammy had a much larger vocabulary my Eskie still has a couple of English words that melt my heart.

5. My Eskie is happy and content which says what a wonderful friend I am indeed.

I have two minature daschunds, as far as bathing them in kitchen sink, I do also, front end in one side and back end in the other side, lol. They both sleep with me and jockey for position, who gets up against me and who has to settle for being up against that one. The one doxie I bought from a kennels, the other one I rescued from being abused. He was skin and bones and afraid of people, but lots of TLC from me and my other doxie brought him out of it in a short time,,,now he thinks he's a rottweiler, LOL. Unlike people, dogs give you unconditonal love all they ask is for you to love them back. Having the dogs makes being single after 35 years of marriage a lot easier, they have gotten me thru the rough times. I don't trust people who don't like dogs or people that dogs don't like. I agree with what another said, "love me, love my dogs", lol.

AND, IF SHE COULD TALK, I'M SURE SHE'D SAY SOMETHING LIKE:

"MY MASTER IS SO FAITHFUL AND LOVING AND KIND. IF I COULD CHANGE JUST ONE THING ABOUT HIM, IT WOULD BE...
THAT HE'D WORK JUUUST A BIT MORE FOREPLAY INTO OUR LOVEMAKING SESSIONS."

Y'ALL KEEP SAFE NOW!

Pets are really wonderful. I love dogs....... very sweet dogs
as a dogs personality can vary as much as a persons can.
I have had some dogs that were not great dogs but a few years ago came across this mixed breed ( a first for me)...... and she is just the sweetest thing on earth.
She is very much like a kid in ways but also it freaks me out to see how protective she is of me and my home. She is a JOY to have, unlike some full breeds I have had in the past
( border collie, heeler mix )...
Just wish she didnt shed so much...

I get upset sometimes when I think about her getting old
and losing her.... she is just a wonderful pet and like a family member.

...Just musing away here ... while the golden retriever watches ....and the minature pomeranian clamors for my attention! The golden was a rescue dog .... and has been such a joy .... the mini-pom was my mom's dog, and when she passed away in March ... I inherited her. Now, I would never have chosen a tiny dog like her ... I'm more of a larger dog person, however, she has bored a hole deep within my heart! ... she's a little princess, a diva, ... and goes everywhere with me ... loves riding in the car .... loves watching soccer games .... and because she was my mom's dog .... I sort of feel a connection there .... BJ

I have a Rottie named Louie. Well Louie weighs about lets say 165lbs, and is very smart, and a good judge of characture ( I know I spelled it wrong) But anyway, I tell him all my secrects, and ask,s his advice, and he has never ever told my secrects, and when he see,s my dates, I just have to look in his big brown eye,s, and if I dont see his white teeth, he approves. I,m telling the truth, because he has growled and chased a couple of my looser dates out. Turned out, he was right. Now what does that say about us. Dont even want to know. He loves my new Boyfriend, and so do I, He just gave me a ring, so it must be a good thing, but Louie knew it all along, Animals arent stupid, we are when it comes to love. I trust his thoughts more then my own, so that,s telling me how bad my choices have been. But those day,s I hope are over. But then again if you think about it, one dog knows another dogs thoughts,

My dog is a pom/chihuahua mix, she's a sweet loving smart dog, loves to ride and goes everywhere I go. Of course that has sometimes ment on a date too. So it says love me love my dog or else. I've been on my own a little over a year now and one of my first dates came over for dinner one night. We'd met a few times and talked on the phone several times. Well my Sweetie, who loves everyone, spent the entire night under the bed growling at him. Well needless to say it freaked him out. THough what a 9 pound dog could do is beyond me but he was all nervous all nigth from the moment I opened the door. I haven't spoken to him since. So I guess my little girl is my chaperone too! I may live without other humans but I am never alone.

We have love...we give it, we receive it, we long for it when it is not there...I have a parrot and a large dog...they love me unconditionally...yes, they are messy at times and inconvenient...and yes they have the propensity to cause problems in a relationship (never date a day sleeper when you own a parrot)...they are as much family as my grandchildren...love someone with pets and you better at least like their pets.

I suppose someone might get the idea that I like to be watched 24/7 if they saw me in the house with my dogs. Perhaps someone would get the idea that I am not shy at all. I have 4 Shetland Sheepdogs. Although two of them belong to my daughters, they see me as the leader of the pack. No matter what I do or where I go, I have 2-4 dogs following me. If I try to close the door behind me I either have to wait for the dog to come in or make him stay out. I have read that Shelties want to be part of every aspect of your life. If I change directions I step on a dog. If I stop, I feel a dog breathing on the back of my leg. If I turn around, there are sets of eyes smiling up at me.

I also have about 15 rabbits, two cats, two gerbils, and a tank of fish. I guess someone might get the idea that I have nothing else to do but shovel food in the front of animals and clean up what comes out the back. It ties me down, but I enjoy them all. I've had horses and goats in the past. I liked keeping them too.

I've owned a couple dogs in my life.

My first was a big stupid, lovable, well behaved German Shorthaired Pointer named Sam. I trained him.

Last was a 18 pound bundle of energy.. A Jack Russell Terrier. The most intelligent dog I ever met. She trained me! Not sure if it was because she was a female, or because of the breed.. Probably both!

No pets for me, I had a cat and we got along well, but gave him to neighbor when I moved a few years ago. Now a pet would just tie me down and I do enjoy traveling...Lou

I have two dogs in the home, they are not mine but I love, and care for them. Nina is a red nose pit bull, just as sweet and loving as you would want.

Val is an american bull dog.. silly with lot's of energy.. I don't know what that says about me?
Val does not like men in the house. I think she's a lesbian... Nina loves men.. She says they taste like chicken OH BOY.. I'll let someone else dwell on this

If he could talk he'd problee tell me to change up his food a bit more often. He's the 1st cat I've ever had that absolutely won't eat any human food at all ..... well 'cept for chicken that is

Old thread-New Thought. I am considering getting a pet. I am a small dog person so that will be what I look for. My thoughts are conflicting and need some real life solutions to being a pet owner. I hear what you say about boarding animals when going away for any length of time but, what about the day to day care? I know that I would have to reconsider some activities due to having a pet. A day trip would present a problem. How is this done when you have an indoor pet? Or should I say dog. Cats seem easier but I want a dog. Tell me your tricks. Thanks, Bonnie

Well I love my furry Newman. He's 9 years old. He would tell you that I need to get a life going and soon. I stay in and don't date at all. Just tired of all the players. He would also tell you that he's my boss. I do pamper him so much but with my kids moved out he's the only baby I have left.
