| Re: Your Favorite Music Lyrics Posted: 8/6/2004 3:59:30 PM | So long so long so long he's been away So long so long so long he's back again
When I turned seventeen We had passion, we had dreams Thought the love we were fighting for Was something holy, something more
When I turned twenty-one we were outside on the run When I walked out with my girl We went halfway around the world
I dreamed I saw her standing there Running for the boy inside the man I was hit hard by the light so bright it burned All at once I knew she'd understand Boy inside the man The boy inside the man
When I turned twenty-five We were hungry, we had drive When I turned much older then When the boy was lost in pride
Now I just turned thirty-one I have lost and I have won Still I've kept my dreams alive 'Cause the boy will never die
Ah, do you understand
The boy inside the man The boy inside the man So long so long so long You been away So long so long so long You're back again
Sister cool this face As if it's carved in stone Don't leave me in this place Like a boy without a home Like a boy without a home Boy inside the man

| Re: Your Favorite Music Lyrics Posted: 8/7/2004 3:30:37 AM | GOODBYE GIRL
All your life you've waited For love to come and stay And now that I have found you You must not slip away I know it's hard believin' The words you've heard before But darlin' you must trust them just once more 'Cause baby, goodbye doesn't mean forever Let me tell you Goodbye doesn't mean We'll never be together again If you wake up and I'm not there I won't be long away 'Cause the things you do my goodbye girl Will bring me back to you
I know you've been taken Afraid to hurt again You fight the love you feel for me Instead of givin' in But I can wait forever Helping you to see That I was meant for you and you for me
So remember, goodbye doesn't mean forever Let me tell you goodbye Doesn't mean we'll never be together again Though we may be so far apart You still will have my heart So forget your past my goodbye girl 'Cause now you're home at last

| Re: Your Favorite Music Lyrics Posted: 8/7/2004 4:14:59 AM | THE WINNER TAKES IT ALLl
I don't wanna talk About the things we've gone through Though it's hurting me Now it's history I've played all my cards And that's what you've done too Nothing more to say No more ace to play
The winner takes it all The loser standing small Beside the victory That's her destiny
I was in your arms Thinking I belonged there I figured it made sense Building me a fence Building me a home Thinking I'd be strong there But I was a fool Playing by the rules
The gods may throw a dice Their minds as cold as ice And someone way down here Loses someone dear The winner takes it all The loser has to fall It's simple and it's plain Why should I complain
But tell me does she kiss Like I used to kiss you Does it feel the same When she calls your name Somewhere deep inside You must know I miss you But what can I say Rules must be obeyed
The judges will decide The likes of me abide Spectators of the show Always staying low The game is on again A lover or a friend A big thing or a small The winner takes it all
I don't wanna talk If it makes you feel sad And I understand You've come to shake my hand I apologize If it makes you feel bad Seeing me so tense No self-confidence But you see The winner takes it all The winner takes it all

| Re: Your Favorite Music Lyrics Posted: 8/7/2004 10:56:14 PM | 'You've Got a Way'
You've got a way with me Somehow you got me to believe In everything that I could be I've gotta say-you really got a way
You've got a way it seems You gave me faith to find my dreams You'll never know just what that means Can't you see... you got a way with me
It's in the way you want me It's in the way you hold me The way you show me just what love's made of It's in the way we make love
You've got a way with words You get me smiling even when it hurts There's no way to measure what your love is worth I can't believe the way you get through to me
It's in the way you want me It's in the way you hold me The way you show me just what love's made of It's in the way we make love
Oh, how I adore you Like no one before you I love you just the way you are
It's in the way you want me It's in the way you hold me The way you show me just what love's made of It's in the way we make love
It's just the way you are

| Re: Your Favorite Music Lyrics Posted: 8/7/2004 11:47:34 PM | 'Every Breath You Take'
Every breath you take Every move you make Every bond you break Every step you take I'll be watching you.
Every single day Every word you say Every game you play Every night you stay I'll be watching you.
Oh can't you see You belong to me? How my poor heart aches with every step you take.
Every move you make Every vow you break Every smile you fake Every claim you stake I'll be watching you.
Since you've gone I've been lost without a trace. I dream at night, I can only see your face. I look around but it's you I can't replace. I keep crying baby, baby please..................
Every move you make Every vow you break Every smile you fake Every claim you stake I'll be watching you.
Every move you make Every vow you break Every smile you fake Every claim you stake I'll be watching you.......

See Forever Eyes See Forever Eyes
Beholding the mirror her eyes give a feeling of lonely vacant skies Soaring above always searching for love the soul within her flies Caught by a glance, in a gossamer trance, woven by her lies Compelling them nearer, dispelling their fear with her see forever eyes

| Re: Your Favorite Music Lyrics Posted: 8/8/2004 3:20:07 AM | Begin the day With a friendly voice A companion, unobtrusive Plays that song that's so elusive And the magic music makes your morning mood
Off on your way Hit the open road There is magic at your fingers For the Spirit ever lingers Undemanding contact In your happy solitude
Invisible airwaves Crackle with life Bright antennae bristle With the energy Emotional feedback On a timeless wavelength Bearing a gift beyond price --- Almost free...
All this machinery Making modern music Can still be open-hearted Not so coldly charted It's really just a question Of your honesty
One likes to believe In the freedom of music But glittering prizes And endless compromises Shatter the illusion Of integrity
"For the words of the profits Are written on the studio wall, Concert hall --- Echoes with the sounds... Of salesmen."

| Re: Your Favorite Music Lyrics Posted: 8/8/2004 3:46:24 AM | I have just rediscovered Bog Seger, Against the Wind is one of my favorites. You know what I find so great about the music way back when? What you heard was real! Todays music is so dubbed, edited, refined that when I do hear a live tune it doesn't even sound like the right band or singer singing it.
Just a comment ticket, I don't expect you to respond. | |
|
| Re: Your Favorite Music Lyrics Posted: 8/8/2004 4:02:26 AM | There will be more Bob Seger coming up. He is just about the top dog lyric writer of all time. So true Ruby, those were he days of "Real" music. Thats why I like remastered music. Now and then I'll rip a Vinyl record into my computer and remaster the sucker myself, if the audio on the store CD sounds too "Digital" | |

| Re: Your Favorite Music Lyrics Posted: 8/8/2004 4:20:38 AM | Know your place in life is where you want to be Don't let them tell you that you owe it all to me Keep on looking forward, no use in looking 'round Hold your head above the ground and they won't bring you down
Anthem of the heart and anthem of the mind A funeral dirge for eyes gone blind We marvel after those who sought New wonders in the world, wonders in the world, Wonders in the world they wrought
Live for yourself -- there's no one else More worth living for Begging hands and bleeding hearts will Only cry out for more
Well, I know they've always told you Selfishness was wrong Yet it was for me, not you, I Came to write this song

| Re: Your Favorite Music Lyrics Posted: 8/8/2004 6:28:57 AM | BETTER LOVE NEXT TIME
I'm your friend, you can talk to me I read your face, I see misery So the one you love has left you dry Don't start believing that you're gonna die Just pick your heart up off the floor And try, try again.....
You'll find better love next time, baby Don't give up and I know you're gonna find Better love next time, baby Someone will be waiting down the line With better love, better love, better love, better love next time
Sometimes it's better to let it all go I've been there and I think I should know So have a good cry, wash out your heart If you keep it inside it'll tear you apart Sometimes you lose but you're gonna win If you just, if you just keep hanging in
Better love next time, baby Don't give up and I know you're gonna find Better love next time, baby Someone will be waiting down the line With better love, better love.....
Better love next time, baby Don't give up and I know you're gonna find Better love next time, baby Someone will be waiting down the line With better love, better love.....
Better love next time, baby Don't give up.....

| Re: Your Favorite Music Lyrics Posted: 8/8/2004 6:30:18 AM | Sweetest Of All
Out of all of the nights I remember Of all of the loves I recall There are many that live in my memory But you were the sweetest of all
Wasn't it sweetest of all, babe Wasn't it sweetest of all I wasn't you're first love I wasn't your last But wasn't it sweetest of all
Sometimes I still think about you Sometimes I wish that you'd call And sometimes I feel like You're lying here with me And it's still the sweetest of all
So keep your goodbyes in your pocket You ain't going nowhere at all Your memory is staying here with me 'Cause you were the sweetest of all
Wasn't it sweetest of all, babe Wasn't it sweetest of all Of all of the lovers You let lie beside you Wasn't it sweetest of all
Wasn't it sweetest of all, babe Wasn't it sweetest of all Of all of the lovers You let lie beside you Wasn't it sweetest of all

| Re: Your Favorite Music Lyrics Posted: 8/9/2004 6:27:34 AM | This song tells a story about empowerment..read on...
'I WILL SURVIVE'
First I was afraid I was petrified Kept thinking I could never live without you by my side
But I spent so many nights thinking how you did me wrong I grew strong I learned how to carry on
and so you're back from outer space I just walked in to find you here with that sad look upon your face I should have changed my stupid lock I should have made you leave your key If I had known for just one second you'd be back to bother me
Go on now go walk out the door just turn around now 'cause you're not welcome anymore weren't you the one who tried to hurt me with goodbye you think I'd crumble you think I'd lay down and die Oh no, not I I will survive as long as i know how to love I know I will stay alive I've got all my life to live I've got all my love to give and I'll survive I will survive
It took all the strength I had not to fall apart kept trying hard to mend the pieces of my broken heart and I spent oh so many nights just feeling sorry for myself I used to cry Now I hold my head up high and you see me somebody new I'm not that chained up little person still in love with you and so you felt like dropping in and just expect me to be free now I'm saving all my loving for someone who's loving me

When life becomes so barren And as cold as winter skies There's a beacon in the darkness In a distant pair of eyes In vain to search for order In vain to search for truth But these things can still be given Your love has shown me proof

| Re: Your Favorite Music Lyrics Posted: 8/10/2004 6:46:05 AM | 'Even the Nights are Better'
I, i was the lonely one Wondering what went wrong Why love had gone And left me lonely
I, i was so confused Feeling like i'd just been used Then you came to me And my loneliness left me
I use to think i was tied to a heartache That was the heartbreak But now that i've found you
(chorus) Even the nights are better Now that we're here together Even the nights are better Since i found you Even the days are brighter When someone you loves beside you Even the nights are better Since i found you
You, you knew just what to do Cause you had been lonely too And you showed me how To ease the pain
And you did more Than mend a broken heart Cause now you've made a fire start And i, i can see that you feel The same way
I used to think i was tied to a heartache That was the heartbreak But now that i've found you (repeat chorus)

| Re: Your Favorite Music Lyrics Posted: 8/10/2004 5:17:25 PM | My uncle has a country place That no one knows about He says it used to be a farm Before the Motor Law And now on Sundays I elude the eyes And hop the turbine freight To far outside the wire where my White-haired uncle waits
Jump to the ground as the turbo slows To cross the borderline Run like the wind as excitement shivers Up and down my spine But down in his barn My uncle preserved for me An old machine For fifty-odd years To keep it as new Has been his dearest dream
I strip away the old debris That hides a shining car A brilliant Red Barchetta From a better vanished time We’ll fire up the willing engine Responding with a roar Tires spitting gravel I commit my weekly crime
Wind in my hair Shifting and drifting Mechanical music Adrenaline surge
Well-oiled leather Hot metal and oil The scented country air
Sunlight on chrome The blur of the landscape Every nerve aware
Suddenly ahead of me Across the mountainside A gleaming alloy air-car Shoots towards me two lanes wide Oh, I spin around with shrieking tires To run the deadly race Go screaming through the valley As another joins the chase
Ride like the wind Straining the limits Of machine and man Laughing out loud with fear and hope I’ve got a desperate plan
At the one-lane bridge I leave the giants stranded At the riverside Race back to the farm To dream with my uncle At the fireside

| Re: Your Favorite Music Lyrics Posted: 8/10/2004 8:43:04 PM | Bird on the Wire
Like a bird on the wire, like a drunk in a midnight choir I have tried in my way to be free.
Like a worm on a hook, like a knight from some old fashioned book I have saved all my ribbons for thee.
If I, if I have been unkind, I hope that you can just let it go by. If I, if I have been untrue I hope you know it was never to you.
Like a baby, stillborn, like a beast with his horn I have torn everyone who reached out for me.
But I swear by this song and by all that I have done wrong I will make it all up to thee.
I saw a beggar leaning on his wooden crutch, he said to me, "You must not ask for so much." And a pretty woman leaning in her darkened door, she cried to me, "Hey, why not ask for more?"
Oh like a bird on the wire, like a drunk in a midnight choir I have tried in my way to be free.

| Re: Your Favorite Music Lyrics Posted: 8/10/2004 9:18:14 PM | Slip slidin' away Slip slidin' away You know the nearer your destination The more you're slip slidin' away
I know a man He came from my home town He wore his passion for his woman Like a thorny crown He said Dolores I live in fear My love for you's so overpowering I'm afraid that I will disappear
Slip slidin' away Slip slidin' away You know the nearer your destination The more you're slip slidin' away
I know a woman Became a wife These are the very words she uses To describe her life She said a good day Ain't got no rain She said a bad day's when I lie in bed And think of things that might have been
Slip slidin' away Slip slidin' away You know the nearer your destination The more you're slip slidin' away
And I know a fa-ther Who had a son He longed to tell him all the reasons For the things he'd done He came a long way Just to explain He kissed his boy as he lay sleeping Then he turned around and headed home again
Slip slidin' away Slip slidin' away You know the nearer your destination The more you're slip slidin' away
God only knows God makes his plan The information's unavailable To the mortal man We work our jobs Collect our pay Believe we're gliding down the highway When in fact we're slip slidin' away
Slip slidin' away Slip slidin' away You know the nearer your destination The more you're slip slidin' away
Slip slidin' away You know the nearer your destination The more you're slip slidin' away Mmm...
Paul Simon
The older I get the I realize we believe we're gliding down the highway When in fact we're slip slidin' away . . .

(They Long To Be) Close To You
Why do birds Suddenly appear? Everytime you are near Just like me They long to be Close to you
Why do some Fall down from the sky? Evertime You walk by Just like me They long to be Close to you
On the day that you were born The angels got together and decided To create a dream come true So they sprinkled moondust in your hair And golden starlight in your eyes of blue
That is why All the girls go down Follow you all around Just like me They long to be Close to you
On the day that you were born The angels got together and decided To create a dream come true So they sprinkled moondust in your hair And golden starlight in your eyes of blue
That is why All the girls go down Follow you all around Just like me They long to be Close to you
Just like me They long to be Close to you

| Re: Your Favorite Music Lyrics Posted: 8/11/2004 5:23:42 AM | i'll sing this when love comes knocking on my doorstep.....and found the guy for me....
I Won't Last A Day Without You
day after day i must face a world of strangers where i don't belong i'm not that strong it's nice to know that there's someone i can turn to who will always care you're always there
*when there's no getting over that rainbow when my smallest of dreams won't come true i can take all the madness the world has to give but i won't last a day without you
so many times when the city seems to be without a friendly face a lonely place it's nice to know that you'll be there if i need you and you'll always smile it's all worthwhile
*when there's no getting over that rainbow when my smallest of dreams won't come true i can take all the madness the world has to give but i won't last a day without you
touch me and i end up singing troubles seem to up and disappear you touch me with the love you're bringing i can't really lose when you're near
if all my friends have frogotten half their promises, they're not unkind just hard to find one look at you and i know that i could learn to live without the rest i found the best
*when there's no getting over that rainbow when my smallest of dreams won't come true i can take all the madness the world has to give but i won't last a day without you
*when there's no getting over that rainbow when my smallest of dreams won't come true i can take all the madness the world has to give but i won't last a day without you

| Re: Your Favorite Music Lyrics Posted: 8/11/2004 9:02:16 AM | it's nice to see new faces here...
'Nobody Loves Me Like You Do'
Like a candle burnin' bright, love is flowing in your eyes A flame to light our way that burns brighter every day Now I have you Nobody loves me like you do
Like a leaf upon the wind I could find no place to land I dreamed the hours away, wondered every day Do dreams come true? Nobody loves me like you do
CHORUS What if I never met you? Where would I be right now? Funny how life just falls in place somehow You touched my heart in places That I never even knew Nobody loves me like you do
I was words without a tune I was a song still unsung A poem with no rhyme Dancer out of time But now there's you Nobody loves me like you do
CHORUS What if I never met you? Where would I be right now? Funny how life just falls in place somehow You touched my heart in places That I never even knew Nobody loves me Nobody loves me Nobody loves me like you do-oo-oo-oo-oo Nobody loves me like you do
