I came on this site looking for someone to share my life with. Someone who would accept me for who I am, and what I stand for. Accept the fact that I am human, and make mistakes, I am a woman whose hormones fly completely out of control sometimes.
Well, not only did I meet that man. But he has brought so much more to my existance than I ever could have imagined. I cannot even begin to explain how much he has given not only of himself, but that he continues to teach me things, without even trying. I not only love this man, but for the first time in a very long time, I am considering sharing the rest of my life with him.

Posted: 12/30/2006 2:31:37 PM | With it being almost a year (tomorrow) since Steamer and I first met, I thought I'd bring this back to surface again. We met on New Years Eve last year, but didn't start dating until the end of April. We just reached our 8 months anniversary on Thursday and we are still happy, happy, happy!!! Today you'd find me playing oldies like the Jackson 5, the Moma and Papa's, and Herman Hermits. Dancing around while my sweet one hangs our bedroom door.  Thought he'd enjoy some entertainment while he's so busy!

Earlier this month, under the law ... we are now considered COMMON LAW ... (6 months living together). When JPD pointed this out, my reply was "couldn't we break up for one day?" LOL I know that's never going to happen.

I agree its nice to see some people "hooking up" .... and also to find out who is with whom....but....(besides the possiblity that this post is permanent and if one the couples break up, this post won't correct that)
keep in mind that there is nothing wrong with being single....being able to take off to a "wing night" and have great time socializing without having to ask anyone's permission....being able to enjoy things just for yourself.....being able to spend your days and nights checking out the Forums...etc
I hate thinking of "hooking up" as being a success story...because that implies that those who haven't are "failures"....and that just ain't so....I have a feeling that some of the "BEST CATCHES" on here are still single.....
There are some on here who know themselves....know what they want....and would much rather have happiness in singlehood than "settle" for a problematic relationship. I APPLAUD YOU !! | |

I think it is freakin awesome that so many fish have paired up with others and have made it long lasting...and all the friendships that have formed on here are amazing!!!
I also met my fiance off this site...2 weeks after he joined, and he closed his account the night he met me. We are getting married in July 2007, and I am shacked up and living in sin (quite happily) in the country ( Cloverleaf) now...Life couldn't be any better... I am actually waiting for him to bring home my Basset hound today!!!!
I was on the site for longer than I care to admit, although it ws mostly the forums, because I had ALMOST given up on Mr. Right...4 kids, health problems, and 2 divorces, whoa, the men were lining up, I tell ya...lol. Then Fred came along. Our relationship makes up for every pain, disappointment and misadventure I had up till that point.
We are having a social in March, and I wanted all the Pof'ers to come... I was sad when I read about Wild's going away...I had no idea until after the party was over, cause I am not on much anymore... but I know many of you brought something special to my life with your friendship, and I will never forget that...
Congrats to all the couples!!!!

Since POF is a dating site and the goal of a dating site is to get singles to form couples, these couple are success stories for the POF site. People are a success relationshipwise when they are happy with themselves, whether single or as part of a couple. My feeling is that you don't have much to offer a relationship unless you are happy with the person you are. If you're not happy alone, another person isn't going to make you happy. If you are happy, they just might make you happier.
As others have said, POF is a success just for getting us out, meeting each other and forming friendships as well as the couples who have found each other.
Just hope Sessy lets Dan wear the pants once in a while.
From the sounds of things, wearing pants or any other clothing doesn't seem to be the focus of the relationship.

I think we are all here for different reasons, companionship, marriage, sex, the list can go on an on ... some people's goals may not be other people's goals ....
I think it's just a success that we are all here and putting ourselves out there for what ever we are looking for ......... that in itself is a true success story.
Plus rejection builds character ......
