Posted: 1/18/2007 3:21:51 PM | Is it a Dating sight or a Social group..mmm....both???
It says "100% Free Dating" right at the top ....but then look through the forums and you see that much discussion and alot of activities are about socializing .
We see couples coming out and mingling.....so it can't be all about "dating"
Yet I noted quite a few people , once they "hooked up" deleted their profiles..infact if you notice the second last post...there almost a sense of pride that the person took their profile of the as soon as they started to date......so it can't be just a social club.....
Ok so it must be both.....and it can be whatever you want it to be within the guidelines of POF.....
I still don't like to call them "success stories".....as noted above ....that still implies "unsuccessful" and "failure" for those not "hooked up"......therefore as a "social group" many people have had great success meeting many new friends.....as a "social group" those who are couples should feel they can remain apart of the group.....
I prefer to view these as "Match Up" stories from POF.....
So there !! Now I am taking my ball and going home !! | |

I figure you get out of anything what you put into it... so don't go in half way........

Posted: 10/8/2008 7:39:04 PM | Was talking to a friend tonight about PoF and we were discussing what fun we have had with the site. We remembered this thread and thought it might be fun to revive it and see who is still happily attached and add any new people that may have met and can now be classified as a success story.
I know my pals SLB and JPD are still happily married and in love
also Opps and Steamer are still busy hanging doors and renovating.
Nishta and Willowbend went to the next step and are also happily married now.
Lord of the snakes and witchywoman are still married after their PoF ceremony.
Cuddly Metro( Mark and Jan) met at the Baja and are married now.
Life is wonderful and Mnmlst(or something like that) met after a short time on Pof and are happily together.
And of course the Manitoba PoF couple of the decade Coors and Uppity Mike are still a happy couple.
Is there anyone else that would like to share their success story?

Posted: 10/30/2008 6:22:11 AM | Funny that this thread should re-surface today. I was just hanging last nite with some of my home girls from POF .....lol.... lots of laughs, lots of fun. And, we commented how lucky we were to have made such wonderful friendships as we have thru this site. Friendships we'll cherish for all time.
And of course there will always be my Harley story. A story which will go down in history and which brought this entire POF community together for one common cause, to save a dying dog. And, for as long as Harley is alive, dubbing him the POF mascot...lol. Now at 98 (human years) he's still hanging in there, making us all proud.
POF success stories aren't only romantically linked.
