Both have turned there backs on there own heritage. Heritage is what makes people different. Why would you want to destroy yourself or anyone else ? Someone mentioned God made us all different colors and we should stick to our own. But they forgot to mention what God made he made Good. Kind after its own kind, whos seed is with in itself. All people should be proud of who and what they are. At one time if you called someone white it was a compliment. Today it seems to be a insult. And that is really sad that the white people feel that way. There was another saying I heard when I was in school. Black is beautiful, but today do not call anyone black because its an insult, why ? As I said before if that is the way God made you and he made you Good then why be insulted ? I do not mean to offend anyone here but I am not sure as to what to call them. I have met some really nice black women. But I would not date them or have any type of relationship with them. You have heard the old saying once you go black you never go back. Well thats almost right. I think most white men would agree with me. Once a woman goes black we don't want you back. What I found suprising was after I talked to some of the black women they felt the same way about black men who dated white women. So again why hurt your own people ? If I were to meet a white woman who had a relationship with a man of another race I would not have anything to do with her. If a woman has no respect for herself or other then what good is she ? Think about it this way if a woman was a lunch box and a black man was to put his banana into the lunch box would any descent white man want to eat out of the lunch box ? I don't think so. Look around and see how many beautiful white women are out there with biracial children. And nobody wants them. I asked several of the black men at work if they were single would they get involved with a white women who had biracial children. 10 out of 10 said they would take her to bed. But not one of them said that they would ever consider having a long term relationship with her. So it seems that white men and black men would want nothing to do with her. I am sure there are exceptions but why put yourself thru hell ? I paid child support for 15yrs. Almost went to jail twice. And she only had one child. There was a black guy I worked with who had 6 biracial childern all by different women. And he bragged about not paying one cent in child support. Last I heard he was sitting in jail. I wish people had more respect for each other. I hate to see someone who is lonely and no one to care for them. Because of the choices they have made. I hate to see people getting themselves into trouble with the law mostly because of lust. But I suppose people are going to do what they want to do. I just hope if anyone reads this it will give them a little insite into what I have learned. | |

Just reading what you wrote makes me think you are stuck in in seclusion or the past. Do yourself a favor and come down to Atlanta on the weekends and just hangout at different events, parks, or malls. Talk about a stereotype! If I were green and from Mars and read this thread, I would be scared to death of a white person, simply because the impression is that whites are intolerant, ignorant and violent against other colors of people.
I reiterate a sentiment I expressed earlier: it is not about the color of one's skin, but the content of one's character, as excerpted from Dr. Martin Luther King's famous speech:
"I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character."
The topic of inter-racial dating is a heated one. The debate will rage long after we are gone from here. We still hold true to a deep-rooted bias against that which is different, a carry-over from our fore-fathers who first came to this country seeking religious freedom. At what point did we, as a RACE OF HUMANS, decide that red should not mingle with yellow, or black with white, or brown with red? To get Biblical, can it possibly be traced back to the days of Abraham, when he begat Ishmael by way of Hagar, his wifes hand-maiden? It was written (about Ishmael--FYI, the father of Islam) "His hand will be against every man, and every man's hand against him." Is this why we have racism today, because Abraham's infertile wife instructed him to impregnate another woman, who happened to be dark-skinned? I do not know the answer, as most of us do not know. We can only conjecture, and come to our own conclusions.
I still feel that if White/Black Joe wants to be with White/Black Jane, then do what makes you happy, and let society worry about how it feels. I see, thru the MANY military marriages made over the years, that German women have no problem accepting a black man for a mate, and most of us that are "white" are descended from a common european lineage. Same can be said for white/black men marrying women from Asia, or the Pacific Islands. Only in America are such racial divides so stark against the backdrop of humanity. I am a product of my environment and upbringing, and all the influences of living in the south. Same as people that are raised in the north and the west. Strip our skins off, and we are all the same underneath. A rainbow is God's promise to us that he will never again flood the earth to cleanse it of the nastiness that goes on, and the rainbow is made of different colors. It pleases Heaven to see such a beautiful rainbow of life on this little rock we call home. It should please us, too.

Black, white, chinese, japanese... aren't we all of the same species, Homo sapiens? Species are proven to mate within their own species regardless of color or so called breed. I know we aren't dogs but some of the best dogs I have owned have been so called "mutts" that are a creation of different breeds within the same species. I must admit trying to breed a dog with a cat is a whole other animal but that is not the issue at hand.
Where do you draw the line? If you say interracial/culture dating is wrong... then do all have relationships have to be of the same religion... the same political beliefs... the same ethnic decent, the same sports team fan? Yes, this is stretching it a bit... but you get my point.
I respect others opinions but thinking that interracial dating is wrong is a bit ignorant in MY opinion. We are all people with a lot to offer. What really matters is who you are, not your color, ethnic background or those other things.
As someone else said, relationships are difficult as it is and an interracial relationship adds more hurdles but they definitely are not insurmountable. Long distance relationships add additional difficulties as well but they happen all the time.
Everyone has their own opinions and I am not going to even try to change them... these are just my thoughts. I have never dated outside of my race however I also support others that have the desire to do so. I know of several outstanding interracial relationships that most people would be envious of... | |
