| Female Trekkies Posted: 3/5/2006 1:49:28 PM | | I grew up in the middle of 2 brothers, so I had no choice but to become a trekkie, lol I'm not fanatical but I enjoy it. Also I used to be into wrestling. not so much anymore. Love the Simpsons and Family Guy, And I have even sat in on a few roll playing games and enjoyed it in my time...lol yes my brothers were kind of geeks. So there are definitally plenty of women out there that are feminine, but can get into guy stuff..lol some of us have brothers. | |

| Female Trekkies Posted: 3/5/2006 2:15:10 PM | I have no brothers but was brought up among my cousins... done lots of climbing trees and fights, played video games and watched cartoons (that I still do if I ever watch tv)... I watched and liked Star Trek, and (that will make you laugh) my dog's name was Murdock (guess when it came from ) Im a fan of one of my city's soccer team, used to go to matches (till it got toooo dangerous), now Im the only one who watches the matches on tv (even my dad dropped out)..
And not in the least do I feel a geek..

| Female Trekkies Posted: 3/5/2006 9:53:26 PM | I'm a female Trekkie! It's fun to watch the shows, read the novels, and attend conventions. I only got into it a few years ago, but I do enjoy it very much. The stories are interesting, and the people who are into Trek are as varied as you can get.
Live Long and Prosper!!

| Female Trekkies Posted: 3/6/2006 12:59:42 PM | Based on that comment about someone imagining my voice sounding like Captain Picard's, perhaps I am doing this dating thing all wrong. Anyone know if there is a Star Trek convention coming to Montreal in the near future ?
If I meet a female Trekkie, do I get the chance to go where no man has ever gone before ?
I liked the original series, where the writing was exceptional - and the special effects were rather silly.

| Female Trekkies Posted: 3/6/2006 3:56:49 PM | I dated a few women who were sci-fi connoisseurs like me - especially books, but also movies and TV series. My SO and I read mostly the same books, watch mostly the same TV shows, like the same movies, have a mutual interest in the sciences, and are compatible on almost every other level as well. Truly sharing significant interests is indeed good for a relationship.
Presently we're recording old DS 9 shows on during the day and watching them in the evening.

| Female Trekkies Posted: 3/6/2006 4:10:08 PM | A Sci-fi convention would be so fun! I wonder what the male-female ratio is?? I think I need to find someone who likes Star Trek. Thanks for the link to mego, plasma80! | |

| Female Trekkies Posted: 3/6/2006 4:40:30 PM | DS9 was a very underrated show. Personally, because of its darker themes and well thought out characters, I prefer it to pretty much all the other iterations to date.
Also, some people are under the false impression that sci-fi, and fantasy role playing are somehow the domain of the male of the species. That is simply not true, in fact the biggest demographic for MMO's (Massively Multiplayer Online) are females.
What's the difference with pretending with Barbie, or pretending with a +2 vorpal sword of dismembering? At least with the sword you get to be part of high adventure…. with Barbie you get to match outfits and ride in a cheap plastic convertible… I rest my case.

| Female Trekkies Posted: 3/6/2006 8:00:33 PM | I love DS-9! From the first episode to the very last! My fav is "The Magnificent Ferengis". I was appalled when Moogie got shot and now I laugh every time. Thought it was so cool when Sisco shaved his head. The dogfights in space! And Worf (!!!) what a babe! | |
|
| Female Trekkies Posted: 3/6/2006 8:19:48 PM | I agree that DS9 is a really cool series. All of the Trek series have something to offer, and I enjoy them all. DS9 episodes I like include You are Cordially Invited (Worf and Dax get married) and the one where the cast plays baseball against the Vulcan Logicians. That one is perfect because I love both Trek and baseball.
Worf and Martok are the most wonderful characters of DS9, and yes, Sisko looked HOT with the shaved head and the goatee.
Qapla'!! (Success! in Klingon)

| Female Trekkies Posted: 3/6/2006 8:20:55 PM | | Toronto Trek is a famous convention that I believe occurs annually in Canada. People have told me that it's a great convention. Have fun! | |
|
| Female Trekkies Posted: 3/6/2006 8:34:03 PM | I live way the hell over in Wyoming. I would love to go to the Toronto Convention. DS-9: Any episode that Garrick (sp) was on I'd watch and I wished they would have used more Odo as objects in the room. He's a hat, he's pair of pants . . . no, he is the coat you are wearing. | |

| Female Trekkies Posted: 3/6/2006 8:35:56 PM | | My mother is a high ranking klingon, she knows hundreds of trekkis. The conventions are full of gamers and trekkis and dorks of all walks of life. (I mean Dorks in the nicest possible way) | |

my dog's name was Murdock (guess when it came from)
"I love it when a plan comes together."
Female trekkies?
"Yes, please." | |

| Female Trekkies Posted: 3/7/2006 12:14:49 AM | My friend is such a Trek fan that she had a one moth affair with Patrick Stewart...I tease her that it doiesn't count...It had to have been with William Shatner. Apparently Jean Luc Pacard was quite the stud | |
|
| Female Trekkies Posted: 3/7/2006 12:16:03 AM | | Screw Star Trek, it's all about Battestar Galactica! | |
|
| Female Trekkies Posted: 3/7/2006 12:29:23 AM | I once read of a woman who liked Star Trek so much, she had the Enterprise tattooed on her back. *sigh* Oh, to find a Trekker (Trekette?) like her. And I've had my share of crushes on various characters; most notably, Major Kira Nerys. DAAAAM, those Bajorans are HOT!!
While we're near the subject of tribbles, I used to own one. Got it free, with the episodes "The Trouble With Tribbles" (TOS) and "Trials and Tribble-ations" (DS9) on video. It never did coo, but it did shriek when squeezed. Sadly, I had to part ways with the videos AND my tribble in a time of poverty, but someday....someday.

| Female Trekkies Posted: 3/7/2006 8:54:50 AM | to Blackmanx: it certainly is wonderful to have fun things in common! I am also a Trekkie & nearly had my ears "pointed", after seeing a friend with ears, at a Sci-Fi cinvention in 1991. It's a simple cosmetic procedure, only $250! But alas, I chickened out.
But there is nothing like shared interests. My boy friend & I share a love of photography & we both really dig the snow. I can't tell you how nice is it, to be able to share these kinds of things, with the one you love.

| Female Trekkies Posted: 7/7/2009 4:58:34 AM | Hello,
This message is for designingwoman but any other Female into trek or guy fan even may read it as it may interest you as well.
designingwoman I tried to email you but my settings wont allow me to maybe cause i dont have a pic, or live close enough or talked naughty to someone dont know anyway hope you see this on here.
I have always wanted to program my own video game for fun just to say I did it kinda thing.
So finaly decided to sit down and do it I was like what am I gonna make.
So I decided why not a star trek game beings thats my next biggest love.
So after thinking of a story line and stuff for the game I went against the idea of creating an original story and went with the thoughts of creating A game based off of the Television series so I am doing a game with all the original series episoides made into games. The first game is in the design phase right now its titled Star Trek Adventures: Year one It will feature 9 of the episodes from Season one.
city on the edge of forever Arena Balance of terror Shore leave Devil in the dark Space Seed Operation annihilate The man Trap The Galileo seven
Many people will question why do old material rather then come up with new stuff
And the reason for this is i started to think what was the purpose of my creating the game and it was to honor trek and give back something to the fans for all the joy and entertainment its brought my life and to give something to the new fans who came on after this movie.
so for old fans the game will be a trip down memory lane and a way to enjoy those old episodes from a new viewpoint of being able to be in them and play them as a game and for new fans it may create interest to watch the old stuff and find out how timeless they really are.
anyway below you will find a link to our design wiki please take a look and tell us what you think so far right now its mainly just we have designed out the maps and levels and using paint to create some concept images then my project partner is taking those images and creating backgrounds for but take a look if anyone is into programing or scripting or graphic design and would like to join the project let me know
this is the arena design right here http://xcalpro.com/wiki/index.php?title=STA:Y1_Arena_Locations_and_backgrounds
this is city on the edge of forever layout http://xcalpro.com/wiki/index.php?title=STA:Y1_City_on_the_Edge_of_Forever
we are using ags studio and creating the game as an adventure style game simular to the 25th anniversary and judgement rites games trek was meant to be an adventure game not a space shoot em upper like star wars and all the commerical trek games.
anyway anyone who would like to join the project or comment in any way speak up
thanks

| Female Trekkies Posted: 7/7/2009 5:47:17 AM | There is nothing wrong with loving sci-fi until you can speak Klingon! "Live long and prosper!" as Spock would say. | |
|
| Female Trekkies Posted: 7/7/2009 6:14:33 AM | OP: can't say I have but good for you! trek fans come from all walk s of life. My favorite thing about all the trek series is how they recycle actors around! | |
|
| Female Trekkies Posted: 7/7/2009 1:43:21 PM | | If she'll roleplay as a Borg, hang on tight and don't ever let her go. "Tonight your body will be assimilated. Your sexual distinctivness will be added to our collective. Resistance is futile." | |
|
| Female Trekkies Posted: 7/7/2009 4:44:14 PM | Hmmm, the female trekkie. I am seeing visions of a star trek convention....
Not since Cardinal Marco Cé joined the Pope, to give a speech to a group of Nuns, at an event catered by the Amish has there been such a large room filled with such little sexual experience
|
| Female Trekkies Posted: 7/7/2009 5:37:29 PM | You have been to the wrong Sci-fi conventions then. | |
|
| Female Trekkies Posted: 7/7/2009 6:29:26 PM | ^^^^ Well don't be as tight lipped as an Aldebaran shellmouth... Just exactly which convention do all the better empathic metamorphs and Orion slave girls go to?
