Well, it would have been keen if I had put my dog on the main profile to celebrate the dog days of summer. Smile, more people remember my dog over me. lol
Tonight he was the light in the dark since we had forgotten our flashlights for the music and movie night at the park.

| Photos of dogs and cats Posted: 8/18/2006 5:45:53 PM | | I'm with the others that agree that having a pic of your pet is very appropriate. I look for pics of people and their pets. I think it demonstates kindness, caring and nurturing which are qualities I'm very interested in. | |

| Photos of dogs and cats Posted: 8/18/2006 8:17:28 PM | I got to the "telephone" stage with one guy and he asked me about pets - I told him I had both a dog and a cat. He went on and on and on and on...(getting the picture) about how he would never let his children near a dog etc. dogs are terrible, bite, trouble, messy etc. I just told him we weren't a match and left it at that. But I couldn't wait to find a pic of my dog to add to my profile just so people know - I have one, she's sweet, and extremely important to me...."don't dog the dog!!" | |

As much as I can I love dogs etc, I do want to know why people put photos of there 4 legged friends on this site, I just dont get it. If I was interested in seeing dogs/cats I would go to PJ's (do they even still exist)?
It just shows another part of their lives and pets, for the majority of us are very important members of our families. Better to know this up front.

It's probably catatonic!
OT to Kendo: Is that the ASL sign, "I Love You"?

| Photos of dogs and cats Posted: 8/20/2006 8:55:02 AM | Pet pics are excellent for weeding out the people who don't bond to animals. I am very devoted to my pets and would never get along with someone who wasn't also an animal lover and I've also had quite a few emails that just want to talk about the animals and a friendship develops from there.
As many have said, a good ice-breaker.
And my cats always type for me, the truly depressing thing is when they have less typos than I do!

| Photos of dogs and cats Posted: 3/4/2007 10:38:38 AM | The answer to your question in my opinion is I would like whom ever is looking at my profile to understand that I come as a package deal. Posting a picture with myself and my amazing golden just gives the readers insight of what that package entails.
As far as PJ's pet store everyone should ban that pet chain as they get their animals from mills. On many occasions I know of people who purchased animals from them and were very sick animals. Their fees for adoption is way too expensive aside from what a breeder may charge. My advice....stay away from PJ's!!!! Your guaranteed to to have very much heartache over your new puppy or kitten.

Nice_Bum1968: Nice Golden :)
Luckly we're both animal lovers or it never would of worked out. Very proud parents to our Goldens. We also get emails complimenting us on our babies.

| Photos of dogs and cats Posted: 3/4/2007 11:43:45 AM | I agree with you (and I feel silly calling you this) nice bum....about the pet stores...most animals come from mills and are not treated very well...it breaks my heart to see these animals stuck in cages walking through thier own feces and urine...disgusting and rather inhumane....I wish we could evolve past this exploitation of animals...sicksicksick...what happens when nobody buys them and they get past babyhood? Ask them the next time you are in one of these establishments...they won't have an answer...!
that being said....I LOVE it when people pose with their pets!!! Nothing tugs at my heart strings then seeing a guy holding a kitten..I find men who care about animals incredibly sexy! My meezer is my baby...she has been the only loyal being in my life so far...=^..^=

| Photos of dogs and cats Posted: 3/4/2007 11:54:31 AM | Yes animals are the greatest. I find animals make one of the best companions and can also be used for therapy. Speaking of emails we just got one yesterday actually asking if we breed goldens. He was looking to buy one. We have regular conversations with a pofer on here and we spend hours just talking about them lol.. so yes friendships can be made through your animals.
PLus off the net as well.

Edit: Btw we don't breed Goldens we got her fixed :)
