Justice at last for Jonbenet Ramsey?

I am hoping that with the time they have been investigating this man,...
remember they have already put their eggs in one basket,....to make a complete turn around after all these years,...you'd think they'd better be absolutetly certain or their credibility would be shot forever,....and yes to me he also looks like he's on meds,...but let's see what he looks like in a week from now,....and let's see if the evidence matches him,...

the thing that got my weird-d-meter's needle to moove was the fact that he was supposedly a pre school teacher,....I know I shouldn't maybe have that reaction but hey,..I'm human too

CNN just reported a couple of minutes ago that the suspect, John Mark Karr, has confessed to Jon Benet's murder to the Thai Police. Apparently he has told them details that only the murderer could have known.

I am a Court TV junkie, as well as a teacher, so was glued to the news of this for quite a while yesterday afternoon. Apparently, the perv also told authorities that he picked her up from school and took her home. Uhhhh.... the murder happened on Christmas Day. I don't know about anyone else, but I can't ever remember being in school on Christmas Day.

News sure do sell a lot of papers.

What puzzles me is that he confesses to a crime but then added the drug info which is false...why? He thought he drugged the child but didn't? Forgot? Sounds a little bizarre if you ask me.

And the author of the soon-to-be-released book who's been in touch with Mr. Karr wants to sell a lot of his books, too. Call the authorities, turn in an alleged child murderer, get your name on the news, make a mint.

Personally, I suspect this guy may just be a nut case and a perv, not a child murder. But I think I will just wait and see how the investigation goes.

Lord knows, I'm sure he's guilty of SOMETHING, but I don't think it has anything to do with JonBenet.

The man is a flake and is living in a fantasy world. It will be good to get him off the streets and out of all schools, for sure, but I don't think arresting him for this particular murder is going to vindicate JonBenet, since I don't think he had anything to do with it.

Apparently only the children of the rich get justice and media air time...
Frankly, who cares? There's real news going on....

As for this particular case, it's getting stranger by the minute with all the incoming revelations. And the suspect, John Mark Karr, appears to me to not quite be "all there" from the television footage and interviews I've seen.

Indeed, it could be he's suffering some neurological malady. Knowing that memory is selective in nature, could it be he remembers the facts of the case better than he remembers where he was at the time?

We hear songs and stories all the time about mentally "not being there"... maybe this is a case where the guy was using media to fill in an empty life and actually thinks he was in a place he wasn't.

Possible...

He certainly remembers the facts of the case, according to his ex-wife. He was apparently obsessed with the cases of both JonBenet and Paula Klass. He also says he loved JonBenet. It sure sounds to me like he doesn't have a strong grip on reality. And that vacant empty stare of his kind of creeps me out.

What did they do before DNA testing? I am sure DNA is not the end all evidence needed to prove someones guilt or innocence.

perhaps not but there was foreign DNA found on the body,....
and in this case,....how else could this have come to be found
on her underclothing?

It's not like he was over at the house celebrating christmas with the family,...
there is no reason what so ever for his DNA (should it match) to even be found
in the house,...never mind the dead girls body,...is there?

What did they do before DNA testing? I am sure DNA is not the end all evidence needed to prove someones guilt or innocence.

Before DNA evidence they had fingerprints. The best fingerprint identification systems are now considered to be about 98% accurate. I have no idea how much of an inaccuracy rate that's been scaled down from over the years because they've been touted as "infallible" ever since they first started using fingerprints back in the 1950s. It was almost certainly less accurate than today's systems.

Before that, there really was no scientifically verifiable forensic evidence available. There was eye witness testimony and lawyers.

If you think our court system is bad now, with 50% of death row inmates being released in some states because DNA evidence has proven they couldn't be guilty of the crimes they were accused of: imagine what it was like when the only tools anyone had to defend themselves with were the lungs of a lawyer...

See "The Man Who Wasn't There" with Billy Bob Thornton...

... and some people still wonder why others won't say OJ is guilty :-|

Is there ANY reason at all that we need to be discussing some ten year old murder case that means absolute $hit to ANYONE except the Boulder Police? Come on! It's amazing that a cute white girl from a well to do family in whitebred christian country is still getting face time. There are homeless and missing children and murdered children from ALL over the states that no one gives a damn about but when it comes to some little puppet in a beauty pageant, the world comes running.

Mark my words, the freak that confessed DID NOT do it. He was being charged by Thai police on child sex abuse charges---If I were facing jail time in Thailand, I'd confess to the kidnapping and murder of The Lindburgh Baby if I thought it would get me home.

This is all smoke and mirrors. Look at what this STUPID story has done! It's sent the mindless drones back to the TV to see what happens next. It'll be one day without war. Now we've got someone else to hate for awhile. This is such a joke and it speaks volumes about the simpleton mentality of America and what her people consider news.

Much like yourself, algae.

Are you capable of a post on any subject without taking a shot at the US? What a miserable life you must have.

That being said I had not thought of the notion that he could be escaping charges in Thailand. Algernon is right. Prison in the US is a country club compared to prison in Thailand.

I still believe her parents had everything to do with it. How convenient that this confession comes out x-months after Patsy Ramsey dies. A little too convenient. Things in this case don't add up at all and until DNA testing proves it was this guy, I do have a belief that her parents had something to do with it. Then again, they could've known he did it and made up the subsquent stories.

For the record, I see the US and Canada as one media market with only slight differences. You have much better print media, we have slightly better broadcast - only because we have all the channels you have plus the CBC. But yeah, so much about this case is more disturbing than a 10 year old murder.

The media has sexualized that little girl more than her parents did. They show the same salacious excerpts over and over, all the while sanctimoniously pretending to be horrified. That's why this is a big story IMO, they have great kiddie porn footage they can show while pretending to be journalists. How many kids have been killed in the last 10 years? I know a fair number of them are unsolved.

I'm glad so many of you are waiting for more information,...before you condem or dismiss this person,...i hope some of you never serve on a jury,....

During one interview with investigators,...one was asked if he did not do it is it possible that he knows or was with the person who did,...

and that's an interesting question in light of some of his statememnts,..like;....
I was there when she was killed,...not yes I killed her,...

he clearly knows more about the case,..according to investigators,...than was relesed to the public,....and for that reason alone they need to get him to a place where he can be interrogated,....

I would love to believe that this man did the crime but all of a sudden this man comes forward, i think he is enjoying his publicity! I also thought the parents had something to do with it, because don't they always think that the parents did it?

of course they always THINK the parents did it,...
just like everything wrong with the kid is always mom's fault,...

trouble is the parents don't always do it and sometimes it's NOT mom's fault,...

that's why your supposed to investigate,...and rely on evidence,...rather than thoughts,...

If he did do it, wait for the court circus on this one. Next bet? Insanity defence. Hey if you can drown 5 kids in a bathtub and and get off on insanity, why shouldn't he? The justice system is laughable and will undoubtedly prove to be the same in this case, if this IS the killer. Creepy looking guy regardless.

there is no way they can go for a insanity plea on this
the jury and judge would laugh them right out of the court room and right in to the electric chair if it was him He knew very well what he was doing
sexual crimes like this are treated with much greater punishment.

======================================================================

First he has to be seen by a shrink,...and if he is nuts,..verified by a shrink or 2,....
then he has the right to be treated as such,....just like the nutburger who drowned her 5 kids,....

Hey,...COMPLETEKAOS,...I'm nothing if not consistant,...

sorry but the 2 post per page rule made me put my answer here,....
---------------------------------------------------------------------

Well now, you'd have to be "nuts" wouldn't you?

yes,....but not necessarily legally nuts,....COMPLETEKAOS

apparently you can be completely twisted and still sane,....go figure

Well now, you'd have to be "nuts" wouldn't you? - to drug, rape and kill a 6 yr. old child? See my point yet? As for them laughing him out of the courtroom on an insanity plea, think again. If it is in fact "his crime" it is no worse than the killing of any child, under any circumstance.

It's somewhat argueable what only the killer would have known....investigative
tactics sometimes include disclosing crucial details. Also, I've seen colour
autopsy photo's of her in detail including the stranglation marks and what
appears to be holes in her back. Lot's of information in la la land. Nothing seems
to be private including your daughters autopsy photo's. All found on
the internet.

I'm sorry I know most of you aren't going to like this but to bad. First of all I personaly believe her parents are stupid and partialy to blame for her death (if they didn't alrady have something to do it with, I don't know, I don't give that much of a shit about the whole thing). Anyone who dresses their kid up with all that make-up to look like an 18 year old is stupid. With all the perverts out there and you want to make your kid look like some adult doll is just moronic. And this garbage on every news station is just as bad. Every idiot with an opinion has to be on the news giving their opinion about something they know very little of the facts about. Ok, have at it, start cursing me out!

He's a f*cked-up whackjob, but there's still no direct evidence to back up his story.

You posted this today, the day two women, one from Canada and another
from the US are being arraigned for the murders of their children.

Thoughts? Sometimes it doesn't take much when you have thousands
of bodies and thousands of 'mothers' in prison for killing their children.

Don't take it personally or become anal about it 'cause it's not about
you.
