Posted: 8/22/2006 9:32:09 AM | The funny thing is the only one "convicting" anyone of anything is Karr himself. Most people (media included) do not seem to believe he did it. To insist that people presume him innocent until proven guilty seems a bit odd in this case considering he's the one saying he did. Most people are saying things don't add up and he's probably NOT the guy. The person saying he's guilty is Karr himself. I find it sickening that people are so protective of this guy yet were so willing to go after the Ramseys. Mr. Ramsey lost one daughter in a car accident prior to Jon Benet's death. He lost his wife. He lost his business. But let's pity the perv, right? It's a sick, sick world.
The one thing I will say, I'm not a huge fan of a person that possesses child pornography. I find it very interesting to listen to people say, "give this guy the benefit of the doubt, don't rake him over the coals" and yet people were so quick to convict the Ramseys of murdering their own daughter. This guy was a fugitive! Why? Child Pornography!!!!!!!!!! Oh yes, let's give some perv who enjoyed looking at little kids in sexual videos the benefit of the doubt because he DESERVES it. People want to give him the benefit of the doubt, but didn't want to do so for law-abiding, decent people like the Ramseys. Shame on society.

Posted: 8/28/2006 1:51:49 PM | The latest news say all charges on Karr been dropped as his DNA does not match the DNA found on Jonbenet. So this case is still unsolved and sad.
Don't know if they will charge Karr for making false statements or will just send him to a mental hospital for assessment. Knowing he could walk free on the street is quite scary, who knows if he is going to make a true crime just so that it is REAL. | |

Prosecutors drop case against Karr in JonBenet slaying

Boulder, Colo. — Prosecutors have decided not to charge John Mark Karr in the slaying of JonBenet Ramsey, his lawyers said Monday after a TV station reported that the schoolteacher's DNA failed to match genetic material on the six-year-old girl's body.
“The warrant on Mr. Karr has been dropped by the district attorney,” public defender Seth Temin said outside the jail. “They are not proceeding with the case.”
“We're deeply distressed by the fact that they took this man and dragged him here from Bangkok, Thailand, with no forensic evidence confirming the allegations against him and no independent factors leading to a presumption that he did anything wrong,” Mr. Temin said.
Boulder County District Attorney Mary Lacy's office did not return repeated calls from The Associated Press.
Mr. Karr was scheduled to make his first Colorado court appearance late Monday afternoon.
Denver's KUSA television station, citing two sources close to the investigation, said earlier that hair and saliva taken from Mr. Karr in Boulder after his arrival last week were tested over the weekend at the Denver police crime lab and that he was ruled out as the source of the DNA taken from the crime scene.
The schoolteacher's arrest in Thailand a week and a half ago was seen a surprise break in the decade-old murder mystery that had cast suspicion over JonBenet's parents. But inconsistencies in Mr. Karr's account immediately raised suspicions that he might be an obsessed follower of the case who confessed to a crime he didn't commit.
Among other things, Mr. Karr's relatives insisted that he was with them, celebrating Christmas in Georgia and Alabama, around the time the JonBenet Ramsey was found strangled and beaten at her Boulder home on Dec. 26, 1996. They said that if Mr. Karr had not been with his family at Christmas, they would have certainly remembered it.
In an interview with the media in Thailand, Mr. Karr said that he was with JonBenet when she died and that her death was an accident. Asked if he was innocent, he said no.
In an interview Monday with MSNBC, Gary Harris, who had been spokesman for the Mr. Karr family, did not directly confirm the KUSA report. But he said: “I knew it wouldn't match.”
Mr. Karr has been “obsessed with this case for a long time. He may have some personality problems, but he's not a killer,” Mr. Harris said. “He obsesses. He wanted to be a rock star one time. ... He's a dreamer. He's the kind of guy who wants to be famous.”
I suspected early on that he was not the real killer...too many inconsistencies in his story. | |

Karr still has to go back to California to face child pornography charges. Those charges were why he left the country in the first place. No way he goes back to teaching. Not even the California courts are goofy enough to let that happen. | |

Hopefully the 5 families of the eledged victims, will finally get their own justice,........
so something good will hopefully come of this,....

Most everyboby in this country has been talking about the case which is only nornal. Naturally they have opinions,as you do.
The dna tests have been taken on both the Ramseys and Karr and none match so we know that it can not be them. There is no dna in the system to match what was found. It has been ten years. I doubt we will ever know who did this horrible crime, unless someone confesses on thier death bed. My heart goes out to the Ramseys. May they find some kind of peace! | |

All I know is what basic common sense would dictate. How the hell does someone break into your house on christmas eve.... somehow manage to subdue one of your children...take her to your basement for apparantly...hours and hours.... raping and eventually killing her...and writing an unheard of ransom 'book' for hours...., and not make a sound: not leave any signifigant evidence: Not show any serious break-in evidence??????
