I doubt any employer would welcome somebody who openly takes drugs so i'm pretty sure you are unemployed. It says you "earn money" whatever that means! Is that by illegal or legal means????

| Would you date someone who is on welfare? Posted: 8/14/2007 5:48:27 PM | Dreambeam. I did say women whose situation permits it and by the sounds of it yours doesn't, i realise there are exceptions to the rule and not everybody with kids in school can work but i do think each case should be assesed individually. | |

| Would you date someone who is on welfare? Posted: 8/14/2007 6:02:24 PM | | Absolutely ridiculous, If the children are young and the mother is at home providing a solid foundation for learning and bonding during the foundation years then more credit to her. The situation is a crisis where many young women are faced with raising children on their own having children with irresponsible fathers not wanting to contribute their time nor money. The money received from Welfare I understand is insignificant and hardly a reason to have children. The few that choose to go this route are probably the minority. | |

| Would you date someone who is on welfare? Posted: 8/14/2007 8:48:05 PM | you made it clear now, you are right thanks
I don't think an intelligent woman will date a man on welfare I have never seen one and most men don't care they just want to add an extra number in their account and supply their desire ,sex and sex ,
except me | |

| Would you date someone who is on welfare? Posted: 8/15/2007 5:45:42 AM | You have to consider that many times in life, you can't just "assume" things about people who are on welfare, homeless, et cetera.. sometimes you don't know what that person's situation is.
But to answer the question, I would be willing to date someone on welfare, but I would consider their situation even before finding out they're on welfare.

| Would you date someone who is on welfare? Posted: 1/10/2008 5:32:24 AM | | I'm on it but I don't pop out babies. I can't get or keep a job for the life of me. So for now I'm finishing up high school for the next couple years then MAYBE go back to working. Or may just go on disability cause you can't even support yourself anymore with a full time job unless you wanna work all the time and waste your life away. | |

| Would you date someone who is on welfare? Posted: 1/10/2008 6:30:20 AM | | The real reason she didn't want to work is she didn't want to get cut down or off her welfare,if she got a job she would haft to report income,I hope she is having fun on my tax dollars while I'm busting my ass to foot her fun and many more like me,it is one thing if one really needs it but another if they abuse the system, your girlfriend sounds like she was taking advantage both way's one she could care less if she worked and got off welfare the other she used you for a sucker, that is the way I see it. | |

| Would you date someone who is on welfare? Posted: 2/28/2008 2:22:36 PM | OMG.... you help support someone on welfare?? and how long were you seeing her? if it was a short time not a good a idea to start doing that as yet. But, yes I wouldn't leave anyone who's living on benefits out of the loop, they have rights to be dating as well to get outta of the system as well. Because the welfare system wants the able-bodied to be working and make room for others who need help as well til they are stablized, people with disabilities are in the worse state they have it harder finding employment, but the able-bodied should be able to find work easier. Even though welfare mom's need to be encouraged to get employement, if you want them to be fair with you on the other half if you're considering remarrying someday. BUT, do not pay into anything at all til you are actually sure you're going to marry, geez!!
Enough said , argh.... some just at some point need to look at the big picture "A bright positive happy future" be helpful and they'll do good unto you!
|
| Would you date someone who is on welfare? Posted: 2/28/2008 4:58:02 PM | | No I wouldn't. I understand that some people go through rough times but more times then not, the system is abused. Plus, I tend to go for college level guys and/or professionals. Not people usually on welfare. | |

Isn't that what you are doing by calling ALL MEN cheating dogs? An eye for an eye.
I dated two guys who were on unemployment (which no, it's not the same as welfare thanks very much) because they were laid off from their jobs (hi, american housing market sucks right now). They weren't deadbeats, they got up every day, tried again to find work. They both did eventually find jobs, and yes, they were happy, but that's not why I left them. There were other factors. Would I date a guy on welfare? I would want to know why he was on it, as all people do when it's their tax dollars at work, and if it were for a legitamate reason (injured and too many bills, ripped off by exes by ID theft or robbery), no I wouldn't have a problem as long as they were working to fix their situation.
Not everyone on welfare is a lazy ass or trying to evade work, but those who are on it and are doing that are people who should be taken out back and shot.
|
| Would you date someone who is on welfare? Posted: 3/11/2008 5:55:44 PM | Depends on the person.
If they fit the stereotype(Lazy, does alot of drugs, trashy or no class, refuses to work), then absolutely not. I'd be better off dating that toothless crackheaded prostitute that cusses out loud late night, downtown while pointing at random strangers and uttering what sounds like diabolical tribal chants. Hell, this would be an upgrade over the steretypical welfare case. At least the prostitute has a job!
However, i've known quite a few people on welfare, who used it for the reasons it's supposed to be used for. I.e: To get back onto your feet, after being down and out on your luck financially. To me, this is perfectly respectable. I wouldn't have a problem dating someone in a tight financial situation, as long as they showed the motivation to get out of that situation ASAP.
Show me someone who's calm and collected when dirt poor, and you've just shown me someone who'll be poor for the remainder of their lives.

| Would you date someone who is on welfare? Posted: 3/11/2008 6:28:05 PM | | No. I have known a great number of women on welfare in my life and though there are a few who really need the system to get back on their feet, there are a huge number of them who are just sitting there getting fat on doughnuts while they are getting porked by every guy in the neighborhood. In fact, there was a welfare mother just down the street who was running a flophouse for worthless guys to sit around and get stoned. She had about five or six of them living with her and not a one of them worked, so you know who was supporting them all. You and I. Every day these guys would walk up and down the street, casing the neighborhood out. Her house burned down a couple of months ago and now she is a problem in someone else's neighborhood. | |

| Would you date someone who is on welfare? Posted: 3/11/2008 6:42:48 PM | ^^^charming! I live on S/S/D if you can call it living I had worked from the time I was thirteen until I was *cough* 40 something. Do I feel like it's welfare? No..But I don't feel real great about it. The cost of my meds is outrageous. Would I date someone on welfare? I guess it would depend on the circumstances. Now I gotta get back to my donuts my ass isn't getting any bigger sitting here typing this crap! | |

I pointed out that there are exceptions, my dear lady. I am speaking of the majority. I had a first-hand look at the typical welfare mothers because I lived in a large low-income apartment complex that was managed by my ex-fiance. I saw the same thing over and over again. Overweight women sitting around bsing with other overweight women all day and not doing a thing to try to get off welfare. They would trade babysitting every night and go to the bars. Most of these women were seeing more cream than a dairy. I actually remember one woman telling my ex-fiance that her little Johnny was almost to the age where they were going to cut her off, so she figured she better go out and get knocked up again. And that is just what she did. She went out, took a guy home and got pregnant to insure her income. There was a woman next door to us whom the ex called the cops on one night after getting fed up with the string of nightly noisy parties she was having. When the police got there, they just walked in because the door was open and they found this thirty-something woman sitting there getting drunk and smoking pot with about ten under-age boys. The ex-fiance and I also noticed that there was a specific type of guy who hung around these low-income apartment complexes specifically to prey upon the welfare mothers for food, beer, drugs, lodgings and sex. These guys would wander into the complex and just cruise about like a hungry-eyed hawk until they saw some woman outside and then go strike up conversation with her. They generally lasted about ninety days with each woman before getting kicked out and moving on to another one. Ninety days was also the amount of time that the fiance was told to allow before telling them they had to leave since the welfare mothers were not supposed to be taking in boarders.

| Would you date someone who is on welfare? Posted: 3/11/2008 7:49:15 PM | | Really, that depends on a lot of things. If he tells me he is on welfare when I met him, there will be no second time. Because there is already a built-in problem. | |
|
| Would you date someone who is on welfare? Posted: 3/11/2008 7:54:00 PM | | it is sad that some people give welfare a bad name when many people use welfare for the right reasons. not all people are dead beats on drugs. many people on welfare do want to work and better themselves. i say stay far, far away from her. | |
