| Why so many fakes?
Posted: 8/20/2006 11:22:00 AM | | As long as there is websites like this one there will always be fakes, most are so painfully obvious but occasionally you hear of people who have been stung by them, and no matter what people tell you its not harmless fun, I know of a friend who was stung by a fake but the fake was her best friend claiming to be someone else just to get closerto her, after 11 months of therapy she still wasn't 100% and I don't think she will ever be able to allow anyone to get close to her...this is the damage they can do, all I can suggest is, if you think someone is a fake.....its better to be safe than sorry before any more damage is done, get rid!! and move on | |

My intuition is usually right so if I receive correspondence I am not convinced is true I wont pursue it. | |

I have come across a couple of them, and nearly got banned from pof due to mentioning the name of one of them on here!!!!!
They obviously have nothing better to do in their poor pathetic lives than to try and hurt people, my advice ignore them!!!!! Unfortunately though you will always get this type of person on internet sites!!!! | |

many people find their lives dull or themselfs unattractive!!
i cannot see the point in fake pictures, as many are so clear that they are fake!!
i use to be gallery picture admin at another site and could tell a mile off who had fake pictures and who had real pictures.
as regards making up, another life. being somebody you are not that is just sad!
especially with a dating site. fakes will get found out, in the end | |

Posted: 5/8/2007 12:33:52 AM | I have tested the fake theory out,not on this site...I made a profile and used a pic of madonna LOL...My mailbox was full of mail when I went and checked weeks later..Of course I didnt answer it I was just testing my theory that looks actually do matter to a lot of people as my own profile didnt get diddly...yet my profile was obviously genuine as I had so many pics of me from different places and times...
I only have the one profile here but If you are uncertain that the pic you are looking at isnt genuine always ask to see more...Obviously doesnt always work but its a start... | |

There are fake profiles that are people here only for the forums and are actually genuinely good fun, then there are the complete real fakes who use fake pics and are here to either dupe people or are too insecure to actually reveal who they are... I had a bad experience with the latter, had his friends pics up and confessed they werent his the day after we were supposed to meet up... I have since found out he had a fake profile just to keep an eye on the woman he was sort of dating.. eeeeeeeeeeeeeekkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk

Fake profiles drive me insane!
There are those who are here to dupe people into relationships - tossers, and then there who make fakes for alterior motives!
The ones that hide behind fakes to say what they want to say to others without being seen, are just too sad in my eyes. Do not have the guts to stand up and be themselves and have conviction in what they say.
I stand behind no one (or any fake profile), I will always fight and I rarely (never say never) lose.

and didnt get round to it, but it wasnt me, it wasnt my style,
so lucky for me now, with this thread about i did a real one,,
