Seems to me some people are still so gullible even today to get duped by this load of crap. The simplist option is to just press the delete button if its an e-mail or just ignore it.

OH YES !!! THEY ARE ALL A BIG SCAM.... all they want is your credit card number
or better yet MONEY.
I have a friend in Africa that looked into this so called gorgeous white guy
that contacted me, sent me pictures and everything. Also a big story about how his wife
dead giving birth. Guess what he found out ??
He was just a local guy trying to get money from me, nothing like his picture at all.
My friend seen him on a webcam. Which I never did. So be careful on here.
The internet is full of this sort of thing. Especially from Africa. There are internet cafe's
all over the cities and towns in Africa and really cheap.

Oh yeah? On Friday, I met a girl while hanging out on the set of a locally filmed movie, for which the two of us were extras. We got to talking, exchanged contact information. The following day, she came to my martial arts studio to watch, with the intent of taking a class later on. We then went out for coffee.

The following day, I got an e-mail from her, inviting her to be part of her multi-level marketing business.

(hangs head in shame)

If it makes anybody feel vindicated in any way, the Nigerian national basketball team lost yesterday.

However, if you will put 12 points into their bank account, they will then win 65-64 and they promise to pay you back with 48 points once they get to America.....

Yikes. I just got 2 of those emails today.

Not that I would ever send anyone a dime.

1. I don't even give money to friends that I know in person.

2. I definitely would not give anyone money from the internet.

3. I don't HAVE any money to give. *Y'all hear that scammers?? So really, no need to keep bugging me*

Yes, I had two women try that on me a few weeks ago on another site....

One very beautiful woman (from her photos anyway) told me she was a widow trying to bring up her 10 year old son. She was 31 years old and needed a more mature man to be with for her and her son. She started her own textiles business and was in Nigeria to get raw materials and would be there for about two weeks.....We IM'd each other for a few days and she was very sweet with her compliments. But on the fifth session she said she desperately needed about $10,000 in US currency to be able to conduct business there for two weeks because it was hard with the Nigerian currency and not to be doing business with US currency. She said she would send me back the equivalent Nigerian currency. She even told me how to do it by wiring it through my bank. Obviously she could get my financial institution information and really create some real nasty havoc. You can imagine what I told her what to do with her Nigerian currency.....I reported her and she quickly disappeared from the site...

Not a week later another scam artist emailed me. She was a pretty 30 year old (from her photos anyway) working on a construction project--in you guessed it, Nigeria!! She told me that after her parents died tragically in a car accident and after being in an abusive marriage with an alcoholic husband, she had found God. And God lead her to do these good things in Nigeria on behalf of American interests there, including construction projects building churches which she said she just finished.....And God also lead her to me!!!....But after her project, she said she was paid in Nigerian currency and needed American money to be sent to her so she can buy a plane ticket and fly to America and into my arms forever!!! So I told her to backstroke to America...I reported her and she also disappeared....

So the lesson here is be careful, but be smart....If any man or woman mentions Nigeria, tell them you are NOT interested....and report them immediately......

Happy Fishing!!!

What IS it about Nigeria that breeds such disgusting behavior??? I live in Virginia Beach, and was down by the water one day and got a flat tire. Going rate for a used tire around here is $30. Nigerian dude charged me $60!!!!!!!!! Didn't have a choice. Rolled in there with my radial juuuuust about to peel off. Could see it starting. So I wasn't in a position to price compare. Then he had the nerve to give me his business card and suggested I tell my friends. Oh, believe me, I have been. Just for all you locals, he's in the 17th St. area somewhere. Can't remember the exact addy or name of the shop, but you'll recognize the place when you hear the guy talk. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!! Rip-off!!

Easy. They're poor, their leaders rip off most of the oil earnings, they think all westerners are millionaires, there's no such thing as welfare or a social security net in most third world nations, and they'll try to scam off you so that they can eat the next day.

The Nigerian government is so corrupt that not only do they steal from their own citizens, but even some members of that government are involved with these scams. And a lot of ordinary people are involved as well because it's quite lucrative. Some say they do this because there are no jobs to be had. But that is no excuse. They are just common criminals. And their scams work on the premise that Westerners are rich, gullible and greedy. And obviously enough are for them to still be at it.
And another thing. You'd think by now they would use different stories. And different pics. At least make it look realistic. I mean c'mon! How many young, single, white American women could there really be in Nigeria? lol.
I think that if anyone falls for this type of scam now a days, after all the stories and warnings, is just too stupid to live anyway. lol.

OMG you have to check this site out. Some Nigerian scammers tried to get me through eBay, but I thwarted and reported them. This link was suggested to me. I love it. These people scam the scammers, getting them to send photos of themselves in compromising positions, send money, and even original art! It's incredible.

One guy even got his scammer to join a fabricated religion. Sweet, sweet justice.

I received an email from a brother and sister from Africa somewhere. It seems there father who was a shipping tycoon was killed by rebels oh yea and there mother was killed to, anyhow they had like 50 milllion dollars that they needed to hide from these rebels and I was the lucky one that they choose to put this money in my bank account so they can safely get it down the road, they were going to give me 10% for my troubles all I had to do was call a number they gave me and give them my banking info. I wrote back and asked for 20% lmao.

Not this tired, Les Miserables excuse. Nigeria is the most developed nation in Africa, save for South Africa. They scam in Nigeria for the same reason they scam anywhere else. Greed and moral corruption. Not only do these scammers originate mostly from Nigeria but the entire Nigerian government is corrupt and on the take. These 419 scammers have houses, cars, TVs, land phones, cell phones, computers, fax numbers, email, internet connections, and lots and lots of laptops. The tools of the criminal internet trade. Have you seen the photos of these guys on 419eater.com and other sites? They have plenty to eat.

My dear here is an education about the internet dating sites . If you have the time as I did about six times to review all of these profiles and get a mental image of them; you'll find a lot of them on the top 20 dating sites in the U.S. and almost every major dating site in the FSU and South America.

Thank you for clarifying.
I also saw the same program as well. So when I see people attacking Nigeria, It's funny to me because most of the scammers for this particular scam are right here in the good old USA.
I did the same thing that you did as well, I responded and alerted them that I was turning the email and all the information in it over to The police and I never got another email from thme.

A news reporter found and interviewed one of these guys on tv....he said it's for the GREEDY..if they are greedy people and looking for fast money...it's THEIR FAULT. People should be more careful about scams like these and do not give in to pressure pitches about giving any money for bogus money orders/deposits in a bank account/etc..

Loaner beware.........Happens once shame on them....happens twice shame on you...

I've had a few emails from foreigners saying how much they were in love with me and wanting me to go to Turkey or Zim etc to meet them!

They soon backed off when I said yeah, great, and can I bring my aged mother and six children as well for a holiday?!!!!

The other line I used was quite true, that as a single mum I couldn't afford to go to Holland and marry the very nice young black man who was mailing me and couldn't put him up in my house until we had courted for at least a YEAR but if he wanted to come here I'd help him find a job so he could support ME once we were MARRIED....never heard from him again either.

Have them send you the money order and frame it on your wall.. I was approached in another scam with money orders when I placed an ad on Roommates.com. The first email was a red flag! They always say they are doing modeling jobs in your area, or something so far fetched. Modeling in Spring Hill Florida...... yeah right.. what? modeling golf clothes at the local nursing homes?

I always deleted those and informed the site managers of the attempt, but I always thought later, wouldn't it be fun to collect the money orders and frame them above my desk in the office? But who wants them to have my address???? not I

There is also a scam from a lawyer saying some long lost relative died, and they want to share the estate with me, just send your bank account numbers and routing information.. I always email back saying I don't have a bank account, but they can send me a money order..

~sigh~ they never do... one clue on any of these scams, besides asking you for money, is they never seem to really read your email responses to them. I will give them this, they are getting smarter, they are now stealing regular people photos instead of using photos of models.

I picture ugly little men in a smokey room laughing about how stupid Americans are.

scams have been around forever (three card monte etc..) they just evolve with the technology. yeh pretty girl stuck needs help. loves you after talking to you twice. just use common sense and move on.if it sounds to good to be true it probably is. there is no free lunch blah blah blah most are fueled by greed and loneliness. one even used a photo of brooke burke from rockstar supernova as her photo
