I'm not a user of such names often..However, I did call my wife a pet name..She would question why I stopped sometimes..I honestly think we don't mesn harm, but are trying to show endearment...someone special..If it's not for you, tell us. Honestly, I don't mind someone calling me by a pet name...each to their own...but let us know. | |

It's very annoying the first time you have a conversation with someone and they immediately call you"baby"before they even ask your first name!.It irks me but I very nicely ask them not to refer to me as"baby" or"honey" as I have a name I would rather be addressed as and then if they don't comply,I simply stop corresponding with them. | |

Posted: 9/13/2006 1:43:19 PM | Their are a lot of names out there, And if you meet a lot of people, It's just easier to say honey. Than trying to remember the name of some dame you met just outside of Chicago, Four years ago.
Their are worse things to be called, And maybe they didn't get much of an impression from you, So they adapted. Deal with it!! Least someone is talking to you!
And their is a lot more stuff to worry about on the planet. A comet is coming that is going to incinerate all of us, And their is nothing you can do about it. Actually worrying about that won't help either.

Also, I find it extremely formal to refer to the person by their first name when I have feelings for them. It's as if I'm calling them Ms Smith or something. Personally I love it. It is creepy from a slimy stranger though! LOL But from a boyfriend, husband or even someone I do find attractive in the mall. LOL Either it makes me feel cared about or it's just a way of flirting. Either way, I don't mind...

And if I am not calling a person by this "special" name, then she is not special to me. Infact one of my friends, was so surpirsed to hear her name from me, that she told me that its almost a few months I actually heard you calling me by my name. | |
