"No, I said 'chariot'..." | |

Yeah, like that, lol...it tends to escape being censored. At least it did until now, probably.

| Why do you need to swear? Posted: 6/25/2008 8:11:09 PM | | I cuss like a sailor. I'm trying to stop though. I don't do it around ppl I don't know, or ppl who would find it offensive. Mostly at home and on the phone with friends. If cussing keeps me out of Heaven then I'll be really F***-ing PISSED!! lol Honestly, I am working on it. | |

| Why do you need to swear? Posted: 6/28/2008 7:29:33 AM | | I agree that people over 30 are doing waaaay too much swearing these days. I can't stand being around someone with a foul mouth. Yes, I used to swear when I was a teenager, but c'mon now, I'm over 40 and I've grown up. A swear might sneak out now and then, but they sure aren't part of my vocabulary. I think a person who swears a lot is very immature (or they are not dealing with bitterness in their heart) and I won't have much to do with them. Big turn off. | |

| Why do you need to swear? Posted: 7/3/2008 12:05:00 PM | | Let us not forget what the "F" word's original meaning was. For Unlawful Carnal Knowledge...It is just a word. The bigger the deal people make out of it the more intriguing it becomes.Yes there is a time and a place for swearing. But there is also a time and a place to have a stick up your butt about how other people choose to speak. | |

| Why do you need to swear? Posted: 8/17/2008 7:36:59 AM | | Bitterness in their heart? WTF?! Im sorry, they are are just words, even the ( oh so naughty 'C' word is just a word. If you see a show called the Vagina Monologues it might remove said stick that ToYo was describing...and whats with the replacing the word god, for example in 'God im so bored' with the word Goll? Perhaps its because I am not Christian...hee hee Im thinking of Father Ted here (Brits will know what I mean) | |

| Why do you need to swear? Posted: 8/17/2008 6:48:37 PM | What the fuk??!?? Will this thread never be allowed to fukin die or what??
What the fuk is the matter with you people...are you trying to shame me for the rest of my fukin life by having this fukin thread showing up on my fukin profile until the end of fukin times???
Ahhhh....I feel SO much better now. Thank you "thread" for allowing me to be myself, even if only for a little while. All this political correctness and proper decorum I must maintain on the other threads is fukin killing me.
OP...there is nothing wrong or bad in swearing a little (or as in my case, a lot) ...as long as it's done in good fun and never out of anger IMO. AND as long as you are (obviously) mindful of the people around you. There is a place and time to swear and then well...there is a place and time to be a proper and respectable human being. Unfortunately, them are the breaks.

| Why do you need to swear? Posted: 8/18/2008 1:24:33 AM | | No one needs to swear, but then they also don't need to smoke, get tattoos, get pierced in strange places or hang around bars. All of these practices are on the rise, and the stigmas associated with them are fading. Does that mean, as my grandma claimed back in the 60's, that we truly are going to heck in a handbasket? | |

| Why do you need to swear? Posted: 8/18/2008 9:16:45 AM | ~OT~ It's just what I do. I don't need to explain it, justify it, sugar-coat it, or pretend I don't. Professionally I would never. And there are those I simply don't wish cloud their environments with my choice of descriptive terminology. I am usually most often in the company of those who are like-minded (socially) so it hasn't been an issue. | |

| Why do you need to swear? Posted: 8/18/2008 10:40:33 AM | I have a plastic coated note I keep in my wallet... "Swearing is a weak mind trying to express itself forcefully" Yes .. I have pulled it out on occasion and let the offender read it... It works.. and you don't have to say anything. | |

| Why do you need to swear? Posted: 8/18/2008 5:50:01 PM | | I am as guilty as anyone else when it comes to swearing when I feel it is necessary. However, I believe that many people who swear in every sentence simply lack the capability to speak in intelligent, articulate sentences and resort to using swear words in place of others. | |
