| When is flirting cheating? Posted: 10/7/2006 8:03:14 PM | | wow... UMM.... i dont consider flirting cheating as long as my man knows where he can release the lead from the pencil... Friends flirt.. we all flirt. Nothing wrong with that.. Unless your flirting with someone for more then friendship.. | |

| When is flirting cheating? Posted: 10/8/2006 5:10:52 AM | WOW...this is the easiest question I have heard on a POF forum . Flirting is cheating once it bothers your significant other. To add my own opinion: If a person flirts with others most likely they need to rethink the current relationship. Personally, if I am happy with the person I am with, there is no need to flirt/attract another. If I did feel that need to flirt with someone else...I may as well end the current relationship as obviously I want to catch the attention of someone else. | |

| When is flirting cheating? Posted: 10/8/2006 5:19:26 AM | I don't consider it cheating...of course one person's flirting is another person's normal behavior. Just who they are. It's only cheating if it goes beyond flirting.
People flirt without even knowing it sometimes. Kindness and compassion can be misconstued(sp) as being flirtatious.

| When is flirting cheating? Posted: 10/8/2006 5:37:23 AM | Great response Don!
If more men/women thought that way, there would be less troubled relationships.

| When is flirting cheating? Posted: 10/10/2006 5:09:06 PM | Cheating, means literally to break the rules. Who makes these rules? The people in the relationship.
So.. if your man/woman dosnt want you to do it.. you have cheated. If they are cool with it, you arent breaking the rules.

| Is Flirting Cheating...I Don't Think So Posted: 10/10/2006 6:00:01 PM | Honestly...I don't think that flirting is cheating at all. It is a natural thing that all huiman beings do...whether it be men or women...everyone does it...and if you say you don't...then you are lying to yourself and everyone around you...
I do believe that flirting could lead to cheating...if you are willing to take it to the next step...but otherwise flirting to me is harmless fun.

| When is flirting cheating? Posted: 10/10/2006 9:32:33 PM | | any time someone is in a relationship and they flirt with someone other than the one they are with sucks and is cheating... your eyes and thoughts belong to the one your with not other folks.... | |

| When is flirting cheating? Posted: 10/13/2006 7:28:39 AM | ^^^^there is no hormone switch we just turn off because we get hooked up with someone. Its perfectly normal and beyond your ability to control what might catch your eye. If you deny that you think someone is attractive when they clearly are, then your only fooling yourself. Noticing someone is attractive does not equate to cheating, its just normal and being human.
Tell ya what, if I'm not allowed to notice other nice looking people anymore, just shoot me now. Its ok to look at the menu, just don't order anything. Its all about self control and respect for yourself and your partnet. So what if some person at work is cute? As long as you don't go after them, whats it matter?

| When is flirting cheating? Posted: 10/13/2006 8:08:04 AM | ^^^ Hon you are friggin 23 years old, come back when you grow up and tell us if you feel the same. Yeah at your age your hormones get all twisted up like a bad thong between your low rise jeans and belly peircing. Nobody expects you to make sense or undertand, so why bother. As you mature, you will realize that the BS " beyond your ability to control what might catch your eye" lines are just that, BS. You cannot control what you are attracted too, but you can in fact control what you do about it. Flirting is a wonderful thing, I myself am very flirty by nature, but I also know where and when to draw the line. The ability to appreciate another person is not flirting, that is attraction. The ability to do nothing about that attraction when you are already involved, is called maturity. Good luck kiddo!
Have fun ;)! | |

Love to hear your views - have you been there?
Tell your partner.
Tell the women you flirt with or not...whatever you prefer.
You don't have to wear a big banner that says you're taken, but let your partner in on it.
Also...try flirting more with your partner the same way you flirt with women online.

| When is flirting cheating? Posted: 10/16/2006 7:18:22 AM | Thorn,
Sounds like you just said the same thing I did. I think you misread (or didn't read) what I wrote. From my perspective it looks like we're agreeing with each other. Laterz

| When is flirting cheating? Posted: 10/22/2006 9:19:39 AM | | ok, so where do you draw the line? maybe chatting to someone is only innocent, if you are both clear that it's not going any further. unfortunately, my boyfreind decided to join another dating site whilst with me, he not only did that he put pictures of his c0ck on there too. he swore he didn't ever meet anyone. but i'm guessing it would have only been a matter of time..... so where do you draw the line. | |

| When is flirting cheating? Posted: 10/22/2006 10:02:44 AM | it is disrespectful to your partner and dishonest to those who u are flirting with...flirting means u are interested in knowing them better, and if u are not, then don't do it. u r just filling your ego. if u want a new partner, then let your current one free to find someone who won't hurt her. why do u ask a question that u already know the answer to? | |

| When is flirting cheating? Posted: 11/30/2006 9:55:36 AM | Well, I am the partner that was in the dark until last week. So, lets just say it does hurt like hell. It makes you feel like you are not good enough, pretty enough. It makes you question everything you thought you had. My husband and I communicate and have great sex. I have no problem with him looking at porn, etc, as long as I know. However, last week I found pictures and I mean PICTURES, of a girl he meet on a forum. She is also married, and they chatted all week. I finally confronted him, and now he promises it is over. I am left feeling hurt, down and wondering if I had not caught them how far would this of gone. So, if you value your relationship, and respect your partner, talk to them, dont let them find out another way. It hurts to much. Perhaps, somethings missing and she is not aware? If you tell her I am sure she would be more than happy to change this, so you both are happy. | |

| When is flirting cheating? Posted: 12/2/2006 8:14:18 AM | cheating is when you start encourageing others to act as if your single and your not, and your other doesnt know. like kissing, talking dirty, online sex, etc phone sex. get it?? | |

| When is flirting cheating? Posted: 12/2/2006 8:46:34 AM | What you are doing is flirting with danger. You need to ask yourself what this is doing for you. You must have some need that isn't being met. Could be excitement, an ego boost, or you toying with the idea of actually cheating. What happens when you find someone online who mets your needs? Where do you go from there?
You can't even begin to share this with your wife until you figure out why you feel the need to do this. But she deserves to have the chance to meet all of your needs. So, go figure this out, talk to her, and work it out with her.
You know you aren't doing the right thing or you wouldn't be asking all of us.

| When is flirting cheating? Posted: 12/2/2006 11:22:19 AM | | if you are hiding it from your partner than you should be chatting to those people. | |
|
| When is flirting cheating? Posted: 12/2/2006 2:19:42 PM | just like dr.Phil says "people who have nothing to hide.......hide nothing" pretty lame lol! but true-relationships are about trust and honesty and if it really is all innocent why not just tell her so she has the option of either accepting you or not. by being true to her you are being true to yourself and thats pretty liberating | |

| When is flirting cheating? Posted: 12/2/2006 2:33:39 PM | To me its cheating when whoever ur flirting with has no clue that u have a significant other...if ur not cheating then why not be honest and let whoever it is u are talking to know that u r in a happy stable relationship?..i guess again that would be my downfall..the honest thing.. | |

| When is flirting cheating? Posted: 12/2/2006 4:15:35 PM | flirting is fun... But cheating is cheating and flirting is flirting...
But when flirting leads to numbers being exchanged... even under the premise of friendship... i would be uncomfortable. I had an ex do that a few times... she ndidnt understand what the guy was doing... But when a woman talk to me.. she got her panties in a bunch...
Goes to show you... itall depends who is flirting... I think if a person watches their partner flirt.. and they dont feel threatened by the other person.. there will be less friction.. But take that same situation.. and enter into the equation a person that is hot.. or someone theex as described as desireable... There is be tension... its natural to a degree. I personally always like to treat my woman like she is the ONLY one in my world.. and almost always when i make the committment.. she is.. i dont need to take anything any further.

| When is flirting cheating? Posted: 12/2/2006 4:22:36 PM | | I think you know the answer. If it's something that you keep from you're comitted partner, it's a very fine line. On top of that, are you sure you're not hurting these other women by leading them on? Why not take all that flirting energy and use it on her. Sounds way more productive.... | |

| When is flirting cheating? Posted: 12/3/2006 12:53:01 AM | ....i hate that kinda behaviour - no offense.
But hey - I'm a huge computer geekoid since birth and all I have been wanting is a man who doesn't know how to turn on a computer - just because I know what the general population of men online are like....
However - just wish the next guy I have a go with has enuff respect for me to not bother with other women online while trying with me. Sucks when you are made to feel second and third to everything else.......
