gee...this is a coincidence....isn't that what the 40 yr old woman wants from the 20something man? except, the 40 yr old woman moren likely won't get pregnant....me thinks the 40 yr old woman has the better deal.....

Posted: 3/17/2005 9:36:27 PM | Wow, if you don't mind, I'd like to say that some of the guys on this thread don't have a very high opinion of women in general. It's like you need them but you hate them and you have a large tendency to put all women in one large stereotypical group. I'd watch that. You have to look at someone individually. A lot of you sound like you haven't had a real date in years. I don't mean that unkindly but look within before you go criticizing others, male or female.
True, I am a woman, but I am not a shopper, I shop when I have to or when something wears out. I prefer to invest. I made a lot of money last year, run a small busniess in addition to my full time job and am very logical and rational. Emotion does not take me by the seat of my pants and direct me like a puppet. Being able to feel is actually an asset not a liability. I, for one, do not need nor want a sugar daddy. I do however, want a man who is self-sufficient and has some drive, get up and go. Or I will run circles around him and he will bore me to tears. His income isn't as important as how he carries himself and whether or not he can handle the fact that I am rather successful and have a vagina. Some men can't, my ex-husband threw it in my face all the time to the point where I had family and friends tell me that he was jealous of me and that I needed to get out. OH please, I don't need that. I am looking for a partner in life, someone who has time for me, someone who acts like he still has some life left in him. Why would I want some Fortune 500 guys that's just as busy as I am? Think about it. I treat others very well, I am generous and easy-going but high energy and driven. I like those characteristics in a man. I am also looking for a man with a passion, such as an interesting hobby that he enjoys. I have several. Playing cards is boring and not one of them. When I play Twister, it had better be horizontally and I play to win. No decision-making problems there, my friend. I accept sex like a man, I am not coy about it and am way past the penis with training wheels and forget the viagra. If he needs props, well, maybe it's just time to park it in the old garage and forget about, look for a retirement center. I am 48 and too old to do rehab. I could go on and on here, but I will spare you. If you are looking for a church function or anyone function to help you find the woman/man of your dreams, you are going to be doing this for a very, very long time. If you want to make money, do you only watch one stock? Good luck out there and don't under-estimate the power of a woman.  | |

In my 20s, I dated women in their 30s, and in my 30s I dated women in their 40s. Though I was dating someone older, I was always on the look-out for someone younger or the same age as me. When what I was looking for came along, I ditched the older woman. I suspect it still works the same. I am not saying that it can't work. I am just saying I think I was typical of males in my age bracket. Yes, I have repented of my evil ways with women. | |

Women will continue to make the same mistakes they've made all their lives and end up with users, abusers and losers then end up on this site hoping for someone to bail them out.
Actually, no, that has not been my experience at all. While my marriage was rough, I have consistantly chosen great men who are not abusive, losers or users. yayy, I managed to either get lucky, or learn a few tricks. For different reasons, those several long term relationships did not work out...but not because of dating drama, or because they were losers.
I don't need bailing out, I am able to provide financially for my family. I have a 3 bedrrom house and a car. I need no meal ticket. I get no help from anyone, and that's how I want it.
People get into trouble when they apply one observed behavior to everyone. Stereotyping is narrow.

I can appreciate your circumstance, but it still doesn't negate my original premise, that by-and-large (and naturally not for all women), most women over 40 haven't a clue of what kind of man will make them happy and wouldn't know the right one if he came up and hugged them. | |
