I don't think it's lust that wins over, but it might appear that way on the surface. People don't cheat over lust. Relationships rarely end because people lust over someone else besides an SO. Other problems begin during a relationship before lust interrupts love; what interrupts love is some inability or lack of knowledge to attack and solve problems in a relationship before lusting after someone else enters into the equation. I think you've over-simplified the question. | |

Posted: 8/29/2006 3:33:59 PM | I think Love is the most powerful emotion that a human being can have in this life. It is a powerful force that can conquer all if both parties put it above everything else and work on whatever stands in the way together and fully meet each others needs.
If one side is unwilling in any manner, then it will not conquer and sometimes a person needs to step away rather than remain in a situation of pain and hurt, no matter how strong the love is. Love sadly is not enough if both are not willing to put it first. | |

I know I said a few hurtful things to him & we have hurt each other really bad.... but i realize that i think I have fallen inlove with him that bad that eventhough i tried to date other ppl there is no time that i never thought about him....

I think I understand the question. I too believe Love is all around much like rune3. she also sent me an anology I hope she shares here that is brilliant.
Should it depend on cirumstances? yes to a point but not the way many think or believe but hope that people will begin believing in this way.
If Love is all around, how come we don't see it feel it or experience it in our relationships, or if we do how come it doesn't last?
It has been said by many people who teach love that we must be that which we want. They say this because it is impossible to attract that which we don't continuousely express in our dayly lives. If Love is only an idea. then that is all it will ever be won't it. we only touch the surface of love with that idea...
Now lets look at something that most people find hard to do. If we acted with senserity of course loving actions on a dayly basis, this is what i am sertain would happen. Those who aren't loving will run like the pleage has broken out leaving room for those who are also loving to be in our lives. of course there are going to be some that aren't loving that will become attached as they crave such a wonderful thing, but on the whole our lives would change so much, as well as the quality of all our relationships.
Oh and be careful if you equate sex with love re evaluate your beliefs about love, as you don't want to be sharing that with all of the world now do you LOL...
If you are interested in more on this just ask I love writing about love and relationships. Like they say we teach best what we are trying to learn.

I've been thinking about this ever since I asked the question, and I keep coming back to what squirrly said...
But I have heard the words that love isn't enough and accepted them and now looking back I realise there was much more behind those words.
I think it's more likely that we didn't love enough, or it would have been.:)

Love cannot be defined.....what can be defined is misery and unhappiness(UNLOVE).
First,be aware of what is causing you pain and suffering in your life,in other words,NEGATIVE FEELINGS.Don't waste a single one of them and don't deny having negative feelings or pretend they don't exist,just be AWARE of them,and THEN work on DROPPING THEM(NEGATIVE FEELINGS).
Drop negative feelings....
Drop misery and UNhappiness....
Drop Unlove........
And you will know LOVE.
You don't ADD anything in YOUR LIFE TO HAVE Love,because you have it already........You have to .....DROP!

Seriously my parents were in love....that didn't stop their 32 year marriage from ending....well maybe my father having the affair and racking up $20,000 in debt might have had something little to do with it....but they were in love at one point....I know for a fact that my mom does not love my father anymore and I personally don't love my father anymore. Love is not unconditional....well unless it is between you and your dog. There are just some things that are not acceptable and cannot be overcome by love. Pebbles 2006 you said that even though your heart was with another guy you still went out with other guys. YOU think it's unfair that the dude screwed you on the first date then moved on but your not thinking about the dudes who went out with you not knowing that you wanted that first scumbag who screwed you over. Is that fair to them? What if you went out on 3 dates with a really nice guy and he really liked you. but suddenly scumbag #1 decided that he made a mistake about moving on and realised that he wanted to be with you. I bet all my cash that you'd leave the new guy in a SECOND. Would that be fair to him? No? Exactly. And that's why I don't feel sorry for you. Its one big cycle. It all goes around. Its not fair and its not nice but its life. Move on get your sh!t straight work on your self esteem and THEN start dating other people. Your a MOTHER for gods sakes! You should be wiser than this.
