To me its just having FUN Yeh, but there’s fun and there’s FUN! This struck me as the sort of fun that involved your eyes and your ears and your palate and who knows what-all else! I too have fun at times writing my poems but I notice how male my poetry is in that it deals so often in abstracts, in concepts, and there’s so little colour in it or sound or so many of those tactile things of which this blessed life has to offer. I will treasure this poem of yours! Thanks. Jer

| Ray: “another attempt Posted: 9/9/2006 4:43:06 AM | I was your voice when you couldn't speak.
One of your best! Because, to me, it is so clean, the statements seem to rise above the bruised ego of the speaker and therefore have authority. And
You were dying from your own shame.
is devastating! | |

Mechanical goosings ain't like the real thang It's got a lot to do With the who Rather than the "thing" I dare say you’ve been goosed by a mechanic in your time and an investment broker or a politician or two but, honey, when your lover gooses you, you’ll be goosed seduced and juiced!

| ray313: You asked what I think... Posted: 9/9/2006 4:48:17 AM | | “Rough” is an interesting concept, don’t you think? There’s the roughness of contempt, but what I was handing out to you was the roughness of respect. You clearly don’t want to be molly-coddled and I respect your intelligence, talent and character too much ever to do that. | |

| Alyosha - you remind me of a very wise man with so much to give Posted: 9/9/2006 4:49:38 AM | Autumn Fantasy: You remind me of a very wise man..
Your poem or prose poem or short story, “A City Street,” amazed and delighted me. (It’s the sort of piece, by the way, that renders ridiculous all the literary classifications). Have you written any fiction? I think you ought to... Jerry

| A Whole Lot of Aching Posted: 9/9/2006 7:06:53 AM | Man, there’s a whole lot of aching going on, on this site. Hearts that are breaking or broke or qot squoze. Do you suppose that maybe somehow, somewhere, there’s a happy thought that one of you could share? Say your puppy learned a new trick or you met a new guy and he turned out NOT to be a...brick? | |

| On my way to the promised land Posted: 9/9/2006 9:13:44 AM | On my way to the promised land I had to go through the village of Bland. The people there were perfectly respectable, the food almost but not quite delectable. Everything ran by the clock tick-tock, tick-tock... You could die several times before you heard anything uncouth and the chimes of the church-bells rang out truth. Truth, truth, truth was their tooth-paste, their dry vermouth. And though of course I suffered mild chagrin I fled in search of even the tiniest sin. | |

| The Sea Nymphs Posted: 9/9/2006 10:02:15 PM | | Just go down to the beach and close your eyes. You can hear them. Tam would be flattered to know that her poem was appreciated - she finished with a 93 average last year in grade 10 English and her stories were amazing. Last weekend I went down to the beach on Saturday night to watch Ernesto roll in on our shores. The waves were 10 ft. and drenched everything in their path including me. Even the lamposts were towered over by them. Now that is an experience. | |

| If I give you my heart Posted: 9/10/2006 5:59:56 AM | If I give you my heart consider it nothing very much. I’ve given it (and taken it back) before. But if, at this painfully advanced age, I give you some of my time, take it and know it is the most precious gift I have to give.

| Suppose love were the only food we ever had.... Posted: 9/10/2006 3:20:40 PM | Suppose love were the only food we ever had: Affection for breakfast, caresses and soft kisses for lunch, a cuddle for a coffee break, carnal gratification for dinner, and tender intercourse for dessert?

As for your new mantra, it's cashmere, I assume?
