I was at the Daq & Creams in Mandeville from 8 till 9. The place was dead!
Left there and went down the street.
Passed by on my way home, didn't go in, but there weren't many vehicles in the parking lot.
I would be interested in hearing about other get togethers though. | |

Posted: 12/26/2008 3:25:39 PM | hi. i am pearlene, a p.o.f. member from the u.k. i am here visiting new orleans until the end of january. I stay with friends out in metairie and they work on canal street.
we have lots of meets in england, and i am hoping that i may be here in time for one of your meets.
i have spent a lot of time here in nola since the 1970's, so am no real stranger.

Just wanted to post this note: In the Slidell area, we have a singles group that meets every Thursday, then we go to Tooluoa"s on Hwy 11. We also have
dances each month... Next one is Feb.7 at St. Lukes Church on Crossgates Blvd. Starts at 7:00 Band to play is Sweetwater.... Mardi Gras Theme...... Bring your own Bottle, food is supplied with entrance fee of $15.00 per person..... Come have some fun with us.     | |

This is off-topic a bit, but reading these posts has made me homesick.
OTOH - I haven't been "home" since Katrina and I doubt if it's the same place. When someone suggests "You can never go home.", I think, "Guarandamnteeya."
Born and raised in New Orleans, La.; I didn't set foot outside of La. until I went into the USAF at 17.
I now live in Sacramento, Ca. Is there anyone else around here?
P.S. I Was surprised to find (in 1992 when I arrived here) that there are crayfish festivals nearby in a town called, "Lodi". [I wonder if CCR came from there.] | |

I have looked at meetup.com and there is not alot of offer for our area. I looked at posting something on there, but it costs.
I'm not sure what would be a good place to meet up - any ideas?
Is there a decent place we can hold our own dancing event?
No offense to the Slidell area, but it is a bit far for me to drive. | |
