| What was the first car you ever owned? Posted: 9/2/2006 4:07:42 PM | I had a beautiful 86 Toyota Corolla, that was handed down to me for a great aunt that decided she was too old to drive at 80. It ran great but the body eventually rusted off it. And to keep patching it up got too expensive.(' ') | |

| What was the first car you ever owned? Posted: 9/4/2006 8:36:20 AM | My first car that I owned was a 1990 Volkswagen Fox. I paid $2000 for it at the time. Ahhh the university daze... I drove from Moncton to Sherbrooke, Quebec quite a few times in that car. It was pretty reliable. Even when we sold it, it was still in pretty good shape. Volkswagens are great little cars.
Nowadays though, I've been a Honda Accord girl. I'm on my 3rd one now. These cars go forever man! The last one I junked had close to 400,000 km's on it. The engine was still fine on it but the body had seen better days. LOL

| What was the first car you ever owned? Posted: 9/4/2006 9:57:11 AM | 1990 Mercury Topaz that I paid $1000 for.. I ended up getting in a wreck with it 2yrs later *lol*
I'm currently using a 1993 Ford Escort that has seen better days - has low mileage and is great on gas - that's about it!
I seeeeeeee need a newer car!

| What was the first car you ever owned? Posted: 8/21/2008 7:38:28 AM | It was a late 60s or early 70s NSU. It was the only one I've ever seen. I grew up in Oklahoma, and some guy had brought it home after he was stationed in Germany. They never imported them to the U.S. I guess.
It was a very cool car, kind of a poor man's Beamer. I had to do makeshift repairs, since parts were not available. It met its end when I drove out in front of a pickup truck.

| What was the first car you ever owned? Posted: 8/25/2008 1:08:14 PM | My first car was a cherry red Ford, Fairlane. Lots of chrome on her, she had her rear end jacked up and chrome hood pins on the front. What a sweet ride that car was, I called her Fanny, the far out Ford.
I miss that little car! I rode everywhere in her , my children loved her too, both of my older ones learned to drive with her, my youngest still remembers all the songs we used to sing as we drove every mile of PEI roads.
*sigh* ah, the sweet past..............................

Friend of mine, a motorcycle racer had one. Was with him when he crashed it . He thought wheels flying through the air was quite humorous, I wanted to kill him! Those 2 wheelers always were crazy.
I bought a European spec Renault with the Gordini engine once from a guy returning from Germany. What a great sleeper that was.
My first car was a white 66 Chrysler Windsor. Beautiful car, but for some reason it pointed to the left while traveling down the road while going straight , after my Brother put it in the ditch .
Might have been something to do with the Torsion Bar suspension on them. Wore out a "Glas Pak " front left tire once a week. People would keep stopping me to tell me, point as I passed them.
Did not concern me at the wise age of 16 . I got quite use to the steering wheel being turned 45 degrees to the right while driving!

I had more fun with that truck than I care to admit. There are some "Geary girls" who would blush at the antics that went on in the cab of that vehicle. It had a cap on the bed. Camping was fun. Sold the truck cap for more than the truck!!!! I had good times on the back roads with that GM. Ahhhh....good times!!!!!

egbdf you sure brought back memories mentioning NSU. It was a rotary engine right? Dunrich,
I've never mentioned that car and had someone say they'd heard of NSU! Although NSU was the first company to use a rotary engine, or "Der Wankelmotor", mine had a 4 cylinder rear mounted engine. I believe it was called a "Prinz".
There are some films online of these cars all tricked out and racing up German hills. They must have put some big carburetors on them, because the rear deck lid is propped open on those racers.
In my internet searching for NSU, I've found some photos of some beautiful vintage motorcylces!
