I too am 47 years young, and recently started talking with a younger man, that I find my mental equal in every way. But I worry that it won't look right. What is your age difference limit, if you don't mind me asking?

I was just telling a friend of mine how I miss the spontaneity that goes along with a relationship. just to be able to reach across and push the hair back from his face or to lean over and feel the taste of his lips. To enjoy human contact is timeless.
You just said it all, how I long for that very thing again!! I didn't really realize how much I missed it until this very moment. I just thought of my last boyfriend and what a great kisser he was! Oh yes, to have that feeling again, I keep hoping!

1) Her wardrobe hasn't changed in fifteen years.
2) She keeps her hair 'natural'.
3) Her color perception has changed, and she now adores bright red lipstick.
4) All the body parts that were stuffed with extra potato chips and chocolate, is now located six inches lower.
5) Stilettos have been exchanged for pumps.
6) A walk on the beach, becomes a Sunday cruise along the waterfront.
7) Religion suddenly becomes an important social outing.
8) Computers and cell phones are for youngsters.
9) Cooking for more than two, is a chore.
10) Sex is too much of a bother.

That does not mean you are too old period.
There are numerous counter examples as people have pointed out in the thread.
There are also numerous counterexamples throughout history, starting, I suppose, with Socrates who's wife had a child when he as 72. We supposed it was his. We don't know what else he may have been up to on the side or with which sex.
I don't know how many people on PoF are live in retirement communites but from what I hear the action there is pretty hot. Some of those communities have long waiting lists of people wanting to move in. :) | |

Then I have been "too old" since about 30. Or maybe always? I refuse to wear stilettos....they hurt like hell.
I used to break and train horses. One drug me once for about a block on an asphalt road....took all the skin off the top of my foot down to the bone. I have a bad bonescar on my big toe. I can't bend those toes in a 90 degree angle which is what stiletto's require.
So to hell with this one particular label. | |

...I think I watched something on 60 minutes a while back and one of the staff members said that was all she could do to keep some of them in their own rooms.
Maybe I should prepare for my retirement now and put my name on one of those waiting lists haha

My Father-in-Law passed away about 15 years ago. Mum-inLaw was on her own for about 6 years when she decided she'd had enough of living alone so she advertised in the lonely hearts column of our local paper. She was 76 at the time.
She met a few men, even 'went out' with one for a few months but it didn't last. Another advert went in and she met the most amazing man who was 78. He had been the CEO of an internationally known company. They have now lived together for 8 years and are both as happy as the proverbial pigs in muck!

that's why i'm here! and i've been here for two years! i've met alot of nice ladies!
and hundreds of phonies and game players!
now, here's where i get confused! i'm on oxygen, don't drink or get out much! i own an older mobile home that needs repair, but is quite liveable, in a fantastic 55+ gated park with all of the senior citizen games.
i'm looking for a live in companian. someone to spend my last couple of years with me and then take possesion of all my worldy goods plus an insurance check.
also she would receive all of my love and appreciation in the meantime!

Or maybe you just run out of bait? I have had men who were 5 or 6 years younger than me whom I e-mailed and they were nice enough to tell me I was too old!
I just turned 60 in January.Yesterday I received a private message from a 67 year old lady who wants to meet me. Her photo was attractive enough and she is someone I would be proud to be seen with. However, I must admit, I am hung up on age.
There is absolutely no time in my life when I would find a woman seven years my senior someone I would want to pursue romantically. Even as a 15-year-old in a Baptist youth am some 45 years ago, the counselor I had a crush on was only about four years older than me.
From the time I began dating until my third marriage, I have always been attracted to women younger than me. My last wife was 16 years younger than I am. No one I have dated seriously has been older than me and I guess most were an average of six years younger.
As I sit here typing this post, I am trying to imagine an intimate relationship with a woman seven years older and I must tell you, I cannot. Now I am sure there are some sexy senior citizens out there who could sweep me off my feet and make me feel young again, I'm just not in the right state of mind to let that happen. | |
