Because we all have coughs
We can’t hug my sister close
So we all made posters
And gave her our family love dose
We stood in her driveway
And held each poster high
And we spray painted her snow
As she watched we saw her cry
She took pictures
Of each sign we held
“we love you”, “ we miss you”
And too, our eyes weld
But she knew each one
Was a hug from us to her
And as we waved goodbye
We prayed for her cure…..

Like small crystals of light
The air is heavy with
Winters cold chill
The wind makes it stronger
As it blows down the hill
The moon is dancing on
The water so cold.
I wish I was as strong
And could be oh so bold.
The sights I am seeing
Are something quite magic
The thought that it will pass
Just seems so tragic.
I know where I am
Is where I am supposed to be.
The feeling of contentment
Makes me feel so free.

Wind so chilling it burns
The sunshine so deceiving
Kids hoping the warmth returns
Cooped up inside
They want to play it rough
I've said, settle down, a thousand times

We'll make homemade suckers
With chocolate in molds
Seems to be a much nicer switch
Them seeing them all with colds

and you'd just laugh..'cause cold is different to you and me
I think it might have gotten down to forty
your underwear I was sporting
furnace set on seventy
everyone still shivering
while playing "sorry"
goddam what a boring game..yanno?
I prefer the challenges of candyland, somehow
everyone pretty much prefers that I'm out in the kitchen not talking at all
they mentioned putting a stool out there for me to sit on
think the whispers and giggles were about donning me with a pointed hat?
forty degree cabin fever conspiracy theory while the girls get fat
and four dogs and a fvcking cat line up and sit
when I make bacon..no shyt
and sometimes I fry up one slice for the one named paris hilton
the cat even licks her
they sleep together
I knew I could turn this into a ramble..
this is a lil fufu curly haired seven pound cute as a button nosed moviestar
she has the look of that red nosed clown on big comfy couch cept with bacon radar
and she's so pregnant that when she sits, one leg has to stick out the side
more dogs.....sigh | |

Well she is through her radiation
And taken her last chemo pill
Now we wait for results
So we’ve passed another hill
12 tumors in her brain
And still more cancer in her breast
Seems like this has become
Our new family crest
We won’t know for some time
What these rounds have done
But she is strong and full of love
Knowing there’s more treatment rounds to come
Still needs her double mastectomy
And 30 more radiation doses
I keep waking up praying
For a misdiagnoses……….

This one is for all of you, a poem I have read many times.
Strength
We don't always have to be strong to be strong.
Sometimes our strength is expressed
in being vulnerable. Sometimes we need to
fall apart to regroup and stay on track.
We all have days when we cannot push any harder,
cannot hold back self-doubt, cannot stop
focusing on our fears, cannot be strong.
There are days when we cannot focus
on being responsible.
Occasionally, we don't want to get out of our beds.
Sometimes we cry in front of people.
We expose our tiredness, irritability, or anger.
Those days are okay. They are just okay.
Part of taking care of ourselves
means we give ourselves permission to
"fall apart" when we need to.
We do not need to be perpetual towers of strength.
We ARE strong.
We have proven that.
Our strength will continue
if we allow ourselves the courage
to feel scared, weak, and vulnerable when we need
to experience those feelings.
Today LORD, help me to know that is it okay to allow myself
to be human. Help me not to feel guilty or punish
myself when I need to "fall apart."
I will remember:
You O LORD are my Strength,
I will trust in You.
You are King Jesus (Yeshua), you reign in my weakness,
You lift me up when I fall apart.
It is You who lets me experience my feelings,
so I might call on You, "the lifted of my head."
Self-doubt, cannot stop me,
fear cannot be strong in Your presence.
Great are You O LORD my Strength!

a 16 footer made of aluminum
a 25 horse fourstroke made for trollin
with a nice live well to keep the willow cats in
it's got deep gunnels and a tall transom
like used on lake pepin by the old russian
guess I never told you about him
365 days a year he was out trollin
he always came back with something
walleye, striper or a northern
I guess I shouldn't be selling shyt on the site
