For a spirit quest
Her first time on one
She’ll pass the test
To look inside yourself
Is the hardest part
But to see your own flaws
Is just the start
To know your own beauty
And to share it’s intensity
Is the toughest element
In today’s society
Inhaling the wind
And setting free
In with the new
The dire will flee
Except who you are
Let nature enhance
The way you move
In your self made dance…..

The world once seemed so big
In the eyes of a small girl
Not wanting to leave the comfort
Of being in her home
As she began to grow
The world started to shrink
Knowing more possibilities
Were there for her to explore
She sees her family change
Right before her eyes
As she slowly takes it all in
Her siblings left, one at a time
With families all of their own
Leaving her to ponder
On what is holding her back
She will take that final step
Forward in her life
Trying not to look back
At what she is leaving behind

Apparitions of Time
Shadows fade away
In the coming of new light
Just like our lives
Time will recite
Apparitions of time
Pre-known outcomes
Once you are born
Death surely succumbs
We leave our traces
Yet vanish from recall
From the muse of being
To nothing at all
Like water left standing
With ripples and currents
Evaporates eventually
No mortality deterrents
So what is the sense
In this unknown premier
Is our life just a pre-trial
If so, then why are we here…………….

A bottled beer
On the couch
Blanket on lap
Indoors all day
Animal trapped
Smoke another

Day to play

Now just sit there and smile and NO talking back
The icy wind chilled me as I sat silently by
Autumn rolled in and summer sun had to die
Its a shame it cant be beautiful here all year round
I thought as I eyed red leaves on the ground
Its pretty in a sad way as seasons come and go
Do the trees mourn the loss of their leaves? I'll never know
They dug shallow graves marked with stones
Threw in the remains... just 3 bleached white bones
One for the springtime, one for summer time too
And the third one they said "This one is you"
The dreamer the wisher the hopeful and young
A life Cut short before even life had begun
I remember the winters I danced in the snow
and the sorrowful trees... But I'll never know
if life could have been worth all the pain and the hate
What love could save me now? Im afraid its too late...
As the dirt piled higher and the graves deeper still
I remembered the wind's fingers and their icy chill
There has to be more than 6 feet of despair
but I'll never know... and to be honest... I can't seem to care... | |

The Zephyr breathes a chilling frost
All animals have bedded down
Streets are nude and empty
There’s no movement through town
Life seems void of all distractions
As if to have stalled in it’s tracks
I walk slowly through the trees
Alone, I seem to relax
No noise
No voices
No phones
No choices
Just the open atmosphere

Planning a trip to Texas
To see my parents and sis
God knows how much
These kin I miss
June is in the works
Hotel rooms are booked
Ocean water and sandy beaches
Give me a line, I'm hooked
Sick of our tepms here
All 4 seasons in a week
Point me towards the palm trees
It's heat that we seek
