Posted: 2/21/2007 3:46:08 PM | I am going to be DJing at the Diesel, if I wasn't down with the flu I'd probably be there tonight. I am sure if I can guarantee them a good crowd It could be an all request wed night, they got new management recently but I know I was working out a deal for PoFers. It would have been either a stamp or an actual card you could flash for a discount on a drink or something. I havn't had the chance to bring it up with the new guys yet. They seem pretty cool and I am sure I could work something out.
Maybe not this week but I'll try and come with something for next week if I can. I don;t know how to set up a sign up thing. If I could get some guestimates on about how many people would up for this on a weekly basis it might help with a deal (and get me an extra night of Djin)
I don't just Dj, I do some games to sometimes, some for fun, some for free drinks. My Tab is only $50 so no one is likely to get drunk on me.
If any of you are out in sylvan I do a variation of name that tune at the openrange saloon (beside the Mac's store) It's more games than actually nameing tunes. It's lots of fun for an interactive crazy bunch. That's every thrusday. Other than the 1st. Hypnosis at the Diesel. I keep myself pretty busy. | |

We've tried a couple other places for wings, like East 40th Pub (down from my house - the wings were worth getting one person's money back.. lol), and Blarneystone South, which I was told by a POFer had "not bad" wings, but they can't seem to keep their hands off Bo's wings. Quality is important. Diesel definitely deserves a chance as it's relatively central (more south central as all wing nights have been so far), has decent parking, and every time I've been there the staff have been pretty damn nice to me.
Perhaps either next week or whenever you feel it's a good time for us to take a run at Diesel, let us know.

They also have pool tables and dart range and VLTs but the parking lot is small LOL I hope you all enjoy your wing night | |

Show starts at 8, I should be spinning about 10:30/11 pm. Thursday, a group of us is going out for Kareoke to the Blarney Stone South. I'm actually not sure what time we'll be there - but watch this thread as I'm sure we'll finalize that in the next couple of days. As for directions - The Blarney Stone South is in a little strip mall to the south of Bower Mall (South end of Red Deer, right on Gaetz). Hmmm...I'm trying to think what else is in that strip mall - some kind of jewellry store...

Posted: 2/27/2007 3:20:25 PM | No I don't work on commission, I have DJ's PoF events in the past, it was fun. Since I the DJ it help with being able to play games and give out free drinks and play whay people want to hear. It also helps me look better because the Diesel doesn't get the business it should and with new management (same owner) they have made some new changes to help give the place a better name. I like to interact with my audiance and have fun.
If you haven't been there is it a great atmosphere and the size would easily make any PoF event virtually a private party. It seats over a 100 people easily. Open pool table so free pool all night, foosball... As I said, I am working on getting some kind of a PoF deal there, like a membership card and get 50 cents off drinks or something but I need to ge people in there first. But I'll give up now. | |
