| hello is anybody out there??? Posted: 8/26/2009 9:04:56 AM | 1) d. Huh? Mostly, I have just been fishing... watching the bobber bob but reticent to jerk the line. That "reticence" comes from not being sure I'm 100% ready, but enough about me.... I think the Forums have their place, but honestly...I just haven't taken the time to look at them until now (I joined earlier this year).
2.) d. all of the above
I WOULD involve myself in event planning. I think 'events' or 'gatherings' would be a good way to meet folks in a non-threatening atmosphere and believe the posting of those here would be a good use of this Forum venue.

| Anyone setting up a get together for maine? or a few get togethers Posted: 8/26/2009 9:16:59 AM | It's true. Maine is B I G ! Any events/gatherings/etc. would probably need to be done on a Regional basis....like Northern/Central/Southern. Which means, someone would need to get the ball rolling in each/one of these areas to attract folks from that region. Of course there would be benefit for someone willing to travel beyond their region as well, but at least they wouldn't have to travel from say... Rockport to Greenville!! | |

| Anyone setting up a get together for maine? Posted: 8/26/2009 9:36:40 AM | I agree with 'cozyrosie'. I am in the 'Lewiston/Brunswick' area and have been to Thatcher's in So. Portland and she's right: it is PLENTY BIG with lots of parking; they have good food and beverage...and they even have Karaoke from time to time (not sure of dates/times) which is a quick way to break the ice and get to know folks who are willing to 'put themselves out there', whether one can actually 'sing' or not!
I think it's location in So. Portland could possibly garner folks from the 'Central Area' as far north as Augusta and maybe as far south as Portsmouth, NH.
I ALSO think that if just 'one' of these EVENTS ever gets off the ground, future events would probably be easier, closer and more frequently planned.
