I commend you and your family for time served in the military I'm sure you and your family are very proud. Sorry If I came across as irritated or rude and to be completely honest had I paid close attention I would have realized by your last line you didn't take the president seriously about using his clout to influence a change in college football. As far as Oklahoma, WOW I would have bet my life on that not happening. They are way better then I thought and now believe they are the best team in the country. But I still don't like stoops lol. Take care, Dan

Yeah! You do sound like there's something wedged up there!!!
WHY SHOULDN'T THE PRESIDENT GET INVOLVED???
How is that any different then Congress getting involved with steroids?

Why is UF only #4 after averaging 60 points a game in the last 6-7 games since they lost to Ole Miss.I thought everyone was saying the SEC is the best conferance in College Football.(I know. Now,it's supposedly the Big-12)
After UF punishes Alabama and then beats Okl. for the National Championship, then you'll realize that,in fact,THE SEC IS THE BEST CONF. In College Football.

I'm also totally against congress getting involed with the steriod issue. I couldn't beileve it when that started. Oh and nope, nothing wedged in there, beleive me I'm a very happy go lucky guy. Not much gets me pissed off, I'm the shop clown at work and have a lot of fun doing it. As far as Florida, They are the other team I think sould be right there with Oklahoma, what a game that would be. Ok are ya all ready for this one. Sit down or hold on to something very tight. I live in Oregon and love the ducks lol.

sorry dude!
broncs, even though it's on another level,FSU is ahead of BC and BC beat them!!!???

How come March Madness has worked for a million years and they can't get the kinks out of the BCS and tweak it to make it a somewhat, facsimile of a proper tourney?

peace to you dan....i am sorry to jump on you ....if i didn't have balls i would think i am in menopause... i am sure you are a good man brother

i guess the point to all this is every year programs have legitimate reasons to politic and gripe....without a playoff there are usually a few teams with good reason to complain....

playing the best at the end of the season is no criteria to put anyone over anyone...but it should be reason to be included in a playoff...everyone knows on any given weekend anyone can be beat and it shouldn't matter whether early in the season or late...

look at tech....so they got blown out one game and now they are ranked lower than teams who lost to lesser opponents...they still deserve consideration...if you can forgive florida and usc for their loss why not tex tech and penn state...judging from the body of work i actually think usc should be ranked 10th no matter how good i think they are..... how can they put texas over tex tech...tech beat them

all this would be resolved with a playoff....a playoff with drama and excitement that would rival all other championship playoffs...could you imagine the excitement seeing this years group of heavyweight battling it out

There are more than 25 teams ;)

I think that's what the PP was saying, with all of the problems in the BCS, why can't we take it to a playoff system? Hope I'm not inferring wrong!

Really?

*SEC vs Big 10 Head to Head Football Record
The SEC leads the Big Ten with a 65-46-2 all-time record.

The SEC has a .584 winning percentage versus the Big Ten.

*SEC vs ACC Head-to-Head Football Record
The SEC holds an 245-114-10 (.678) all-time advantage.

Since 1990, the SEC leads the ACC in head-to-head games with a 65-50-2 (.564) record.

Your conference
*SEC vs Big 12 Head-to-Head Football Record
The SEC leads the Big 12 in all-time head-to-head match-ups with an 17-15-0 (.531) record.

Against the Big 12's predecessor (the BigEight) the SEC had a 43-43-6 (.500) record.

I did not feel like looking up the big east, because well... that conference is a tricky one. Someone feel free to do it for me

The SEC is the most difficult division there is. It makes like Little 10 and Tiny 12 conferences look like cake walks. If the mighty Florida Gators had a division like those or the Crap 10 where USC plays of course they'd be the national champs every year since there is no real competition in those.

Final Result Jan 8.... Florida Gators National Champions again.

SEC, 2008 record against Top25; 18-31
With the exception of Florida (who hasn't played anyone) and Alabama (who hasn't played anyone) the SEC is a mediocre conference, at best.
They're hyped by the media and homers.
This is why DivI football needs a playoff.

I'll tell you how OU out ranked UT...the horns totally mis-handled their defense against Tech... that & OU handed OSU their own asses the other night. If OSU and UT would have stepped up and played right in those keys games, things would look a little better for the horns right about now.

SEC, 2008 record against Top25; 18-31

so how many games of that stat you have posted is one sec school beating another? look i think that the big 12 is a better conference this year then the sec is, but thats only one year. year after year the sec is the best conference from top to bottom. there over hyped by the media, really i all i know is that u put a sec school in the big game , they are not losing, what is there record in the bcs championship games, undefeated correct. can any other conference say that? u can start picking all schools apart, example did texas even beat a ranked team on the road, better yet did they even play a ranked team outside the state of texas? so on and on it can go, bottom line just stop playa hate in on the sec, even if u get a 8 team playoff there will be all sorts of problems with that.think it through, a playoff system is a bunch of peoples knee jerk reactions, iam not saying that the bcs is perfect, but iam saying that a playoff would be just as flawed!

this year in the sec, you have florida, alabama, and everyone else..overall the sec is down....

the big 12 has three teams in the top 10....and 5 int he top 20...

and dont give me the usual sec "well, we beat eachother up in the sec"....

lsu just lost to fricking arkansas, a very poor team at the very least....

along with auburn, and tenneesee, just a good confernce, nothing great...

when ou beats mizzou, and florida beats bama, then I guess we will see in the champ game....

should be a great game though....

hopefully we get that match up, the big 12 is better this year, nobody is disputing that, congrats to the big 12 this year it has been a blast watching them play this year. u take the top 2 out of the sec and your right nothing great, u take the top 3 outta the big 12 also nothing great.we can go on and on, for example the big 12 doesnt have a defense ranked in the top 25 ( i think), where even this years bottom feeders in the sec ( tennessee) is ranked in the top 10.hopefully o.u can get by mizzou ( who just lost to a kansas team that isnt really all that good thereselfs, but hopefully oklahoma doesnt have trouble in the big game like they have in recent years, but i want to see the sec vs. the big 12, they are clearly the best 2 conferences!

last point i going to make about this nonsense, keep in mind that it was the same media in which u speak of that GAVE usc a share of the championship that one year, the sec played for and earned there share of that years championship, they werent giving anything they earned it on the field. also keep in mind that it was that same media that screwed auburn that year that they went un beaten, odd i didnt see the media GIVING them a share of the championship like they did usc. not saying usc wasnt a good or even the best team that year, just making the point that media has never giving a sec team a share of anything like they have for other conferences!

the only defense I have for USC is that carrol recruits so good he hurts himself...every player that is on the west coast will go to USC...even if they wont start, there are players on usc that are backups that could start for any team in the pac 10....

I understand they lost to oregon state, no excuse, but give carrol credit for recruiting so damm good that he makes the entire pac 10 weak

denny...

I would love to see oklahoma and florida go at it...that is my dream matchup..offense vs offense...two great qb's...two great coaches....

SEC, 2008 record against Top25; 18-31...so how many games of that stat you have posted is one sec school beating another

What difference does it make? It kind of proves my point that there are two good teams, Alabama and Florida. The rest are mediocre, at best. In fact, a league that is barely better than 500 against ranked teams kind of proves it's a mediocre league.

media has never giving a sec team a share of anything like they have

Never is a long time, homer. 1957, Auburn split title, 1965 Alabama split title, 1973 Alabama again splits title-all media polls voted on by people who in all likelihood never saw any of those teams play - kind of like Heisman voting.

If there were a playoff, no body would be getting screwed, regardless of what the media does. There wouldn't be a share of the title. It would go to the ultimate winner of the playoff.

The polls are stupid-including the BSC, and the SEC is over hyped.

wow maybe i should have been more clear, i was talking about the bcs system, who know the post nixon years, for god sakes . polls are sometimes a bad thing , in my opinion i dont think they should release polls until the 5th or 6th week, but anyway if there where no polls, then how would u come up with the 8 teams that get into the playoff. trust me any way u put your playoff together, there will be some team that gets left out.also my hold up is that in my opinion a playoff would make the reg. season alot less meaningfull. moan all u want to about the sec being overhyped, all i know is when they get a chance to play for the nat. championship ( under the current bcs) they WIN, the media sure cant help them do that can they? also keep in mind that the bcs is set up to match #1 vs #2, not conferences.again i will point out that the sec is not as good this year as in years past, but even that being said, its a sad down for the rest of the country when the sec is having a down year and they still walk away with the championship ( my perdiction), lastthing i have to say is , better a homer then a hater.please if u are going to respond atleast keep the topic in modern years, who know like we where acutally alive!!!!!!

You said it exactly right. The Sec East and West two Conferences ( You say Leagues)
Of the 12 teams 8 are eligible to play in Bowl games.
Bet other Conferences can't say the same.

the acc has 10 of of the 12 teams bowl eligible(more than the sec)

the big east has 8 teams total, and 6 are bowl eligible(just as much as the sec)

the big 10 has 11 teams and 7 are eligible

the western athletic has 9 teams and 6 are eligible

the mountain west has 9 teams and 5 are eligible

bieng bowl eligible not that big of a deal considering the irish are going to a bowl after losing to the orange, and getting just drilled by USC.....

overall the sec is down this year.....you have florida, bama, and everyone else....

But a sec team will be in the bcs game for the 3rd year in a row.
And if it happens to be florida who will beat bama Florida will beat Oklahoma in the championship game and the SEC will have won the National Championship game for the 3rd year in a row.
