The best information I've found on the question you post is the National Health and Social Life Survey, which is the best longitudinal study we have to date. Their finding was that men reported masturbating twice as frequently as women did. No doubt women have a greater potential/capacity for repeated sexual responses, but it appears men's frequency of autoerotic behavior is greater.
