| Strong silent type or a sense of humor? Posted: 3/20/2005 6:32:43 PM | A sense of humor, but I'll qualify that....
I am bored to death of "guy humor" jokes - the ones that should have been grown out of when you graduated high school - such AS
fart jokes smarmy sexual innuendos guys who stick things down their pants and walk around with them hanging out their fly guys who think blown up rubbers are for making balloon animals or fake boobs guys who pretend to hump anything with a faintly suitable orifice, groaning their fake pleasure to the world playing sonatas with your armpits
save that stuff for the poker nights fellas, its not that funny unless you are drunk and have a penis!

Astrosky that stuff is really wierd. I don't know of anyone that has done anything remotely like that since I was 10 years old. I am 46 now. I swear that is just wierd.

| Strong silent type or a sense of humor? Posted: 4/6/2005 7:04:26 PM | Sense of humor, provided it's witty and not inane.
Strong, silent types are also great but they also have the tendency to turn inwards when something's bothering them... have had enough experiences with those, bring the witty guys on!

| Strong silent type or a sense of humor? Posted: 4/3/2006 10:30:29 PM | Strong silent types are very boring
If he doesn't have anything to say, I find that painfully boring. I enjoy conversation and a sense of humor.
The sense of humor wins out any day!!

| Strong silent type or a sense of humor? Posted: 4/3/2006 11:45:27 PM | "strong silent types" usually end up being weak, insecure men who keep quiet to create the illusion of mystery and intrigue..."still waters run deep"... has no one else heard of ground water? AS for the sense of humour...we all like witty, not base-crude-innane-dorky humour I personally like the off-beat, edgy to risque, without being blatant (in other words you have to use your noggin and perhaps some references to get it) kind of humour. without overkill of name dropping, quantum physics type intricacy...yup we women want the world! hard to please, purgatory cast desires, never to manifest in the genetic pool of the 21st century. but then again i was taught anything is possible. | |

| Strong silent type or a sense of humor? Posted: 4/4/2006 2:12:25 AM | That is too funny. I know that some maturity levels are very low, but my goodness that is way overboard. And I find it so funny (of course I wouldn't if it were me) but that is unbelievable. Do you think he will ever grow outta it? Anyhow to answer the above mentioned question... definitely a sense of humor is huge to me, the strong silent type is like talking to a wall, trust me been there done that and oh my I can't stop the nightmares from it. I like a serious side but the humor better be there. | |

| Strong silent type or a sense of humor? Posted: 4/5/2006 4:44:56 PM | | I'm the strong and silent type but also have a great sence of humor and make fun of shit all day long and always making someone laugh, you just have to pick your times and places to be funny or serious and then when people get to know you you can be both without confusing the hell out of them. | |
|
| Strong silent type or a sense of humor? Posted: 4/5/2006 5:33:43 PM | silent types drive me crazy and make me suspicious, lol! Give me sharp wit and outgoing anyday. Just a better match for me, as I am rarely silent | |

| Strong silent type or a sense of humor? Posted: 4/5/2006 7:14:38 PM | The humourous guy gets my vote
Strong silent types seem to come across as someone who 1) doesn't give enough of a damn to participate in the conversation 2) arrogant, cannot lower himself to the conversation 3) dull, doesn't know what the hell to contribute to the conversation 4) sulking or ignoring without participating in a lively disagreement
This is life - participate!

| Strong silent type or a sense of humor? Posted: 4/5/2006 8:40:08 PM | Plain Jane hit the nail on the head on this one. She gives good reasons to avoid the "Strong Silent Type" which to me is incredibly boring. Conversation makes things more interesting by a long shot. A silly sense of humor is a huge plus. I get a kick out of light teasing to make people laugh. Humor brings joy to life, and it's good to enjoy a laugh with someone special. Heck, it's fun to tease the people reading the forums with a little something silly to break up the routine ;-).
