If we all lived life better safe then sorry then we would all be very lonely.
I'll take my chances with the boys in blue.

| Would you date a cop? Posted: 9/12/2006 8:06:52 PM | | now heres a loaded question, that would depend, not that a cop would even look at me lol but it does not matter whether he is a cop or a factory worker aslong as he is proud of his job or career | |
|
| Would you date a cop? Posted: 9/12/2006 8:13:02 PM | Why does everybody have to be "proud" of their career? Sometimes, that's what we're dealt, doesn't mean you have to love it or be proud of it. The important part is "We work to live" ......NOT...."We live to work"......n'est pas? | |

| Would you date a cop? Posted: 9/12/2006 8:19:21 PM | | sorry but i think that if you go into a profession then it must be something you love doing if not then try something new,or deal with it,i am very much proud of our men and women in uniform, sorry but i give them only the highest respect, | |

| Would you date a cop? Posted: 9/12/2006 8:23:31 PM | | Hey, I'm not arguing that point. I'm a firefighter, love my job. I'm only saying, we all don't get the job of our dreams. In fact, most don't I think, especially here in Canada, as we don't seem to be as mobile or adventurous in our job/life pursuits....Just my opinion | |

| Would you date a cop? Posted: 9/12/2006 9:39:20 PM | I'm a Ti-Cat seasons ticket holder. One of the most fun things to do at the game is to watch the drunks leave for a beer. (Yea I know, it's been one of those seasons)
I really have to laugh at the guys who oogle the cheerleaders as they walk down the stairs to the beer stands. One night I howled at the drunks who were goinig past me leering at the girls. The typical "Wow's" and "Getta look at that BABE! DUDE!!!"
The funny thing was the reaction when they spotted the "Blonde Cop" at the bottom.
She's at every game and makes the cheerleaders look dorky by comparison. Guys - she's BUILT!
The heap of drunks who end up missing the last step down and pile up when they finally spot her is hillarious.
Watch for her at the games. She is seriously HOT!!!!

Why does everybody have to be "proud" of their career? Sometimes, that's what we're dealt, doesn't mean you have to love it or be proud of it.
I would hope everyone spends their time doing something they enjoy! What we're dealt?!? The last time I checked, everyone has the ability to make a conscious decision in terms of what kind of education we acquire, the accomplishments we achieve, the career we choose and ultimately the type of life we make for ourselves.
Spending your time doing something that you don't enjoy... That you may not necessarily be proud of, would make for long days! So I'm not so sure I buy that theory. We're all faced with bumps in the road but when it comes down to it, it's all about choice!
Oh, uhm.... have I mentioned that officers and firefighters are completely sexy?!?

| Would you date a cop? Posted: 9/13/2006 7:15:34 AM | Whether you buy that theory or not Jenni-pooh, that's reality (mine anyway). You can educate, form, craft, train all you want. It doesn't mean necessarily that you'll achieve your original objectives. I'm not a proponent of staying at something that doesn't reward you in some fashion, but, sometimes you have to modify your goals and seek contentment outside the workplace. Life goes on, bills have to be paid, not everybody can be a rocket scientist. It's a bit about choice, more about decisions, and of course being in the right place at the right time, that and a little luck..... If you applied your theory to all of us here, why would we still be here? Success is never guaranteed......but we keep on pluggin......
Work to Live, not Live to Work
(I retire next year, is it that obvious..???)

| Would you date a cop? Posted: 9/13/2006 9:30:37 AM | Date a cop? That would fulfill just about 90% of all wetdreams I've ever had.
Date a female cop? ...er... That would be the other 10% I really never admit to. *chuckling*

| Would you date a cop? Posted: 9/13/2006 11:26:12 AM | And Interdimensional...I'm really not usually this mean but...well ~ you're an idiot...
^^^^^ the truth hurts sometimes. My personal experiences have taught me that even in our society Policing is often a lucrative business. I have been in a vehicle with a drunken cop at the wheel (yes...stupid on my part) and we hit a ride...he flashed his badge...no problems. I have also been present to shakedowns where confiscated narcotics go right into the pockets. Are all cops crooked. I doubt it. Are a lot of them...you bet.

| Would you date a cop? Posted: 9/13/2006 7:04:24 PM | I'm hoping this is my final post on this topic although at times, I do believe controversy and a good debate can lead to better conversation...I can hold my own ground...
There are good and bad in every profession... Are there crooked cops? Of course there are...Unfortunately, some slip through the system... Are there cops that cheat? Of course there are...Some people have used the quote "Most cops are cheaters..." I beg to differ...Perhaps the operative word should have been "some," not most - some... Thats like saying "Most priests are pedophiles..." etc; Its simply not a fact...Its an opinion... And I couldn't agree more with ~Jenni-Pooh~ I would hope people would spend their time/life doing something they enjoy - "Your life is what you make of it..." "Interdimensional" - unless you've been personally affected by a drunk driver, you simply wouldn't have stated what you did...Your ignorance is purely that...

| Would you date a cop? Posted: 9/13/2006 7:25:14 PM | gee thanks tttbugs, but not everyone in the 911 profession is a player ..... and I don't like being insulted that way. I've met just as many blue collar workers, teachers, doctors, lawyers etc that mess around. It's the old, 'one bad apple' adage .... "gee, my girlfriend went out with a cop and it turned out he was married so all cops must be like that."
Yes, cops, firefighters, military men have more temptation ... women love to throw themselves at men in uniform, they also love to throw themselves at doctors and lawyers because they see $$$$$. It doesn't mean they all give in.

| Would you date a cop? Posted: 9/14/2006 12:26:48 AM | No I would never date a cop. I worked with them and there are many types of guys that choose the profession. Quite a few fool around on their wives, girlfriends, etc. They all deal with a lot of shit that normal people just don't ever cope with. It's not an easy life for the women involved with these guys. My hat goes off to them but there is a reason they have such a high divorce rate. | |

| Would you date a cop? Posted: 9/14/2006 4:49:54 AM | | Wow, interesting discussion.... I'm curious as to what the orginal concerns were. For you to have asked us if we WOULD date a cop (well, actually, not us - you asked for male responses but have gotten all sorts anyway~) what were your concerns? Why did you ask? What's on your mind? | |
|
| Would you date a cop? Posted: 9/14/2006 6:57:54 AM | | Never ever would I date a cop......I personally know 4 here in town and 3 in Hamilton. Every one of them think their something extremely special. Statistics are not at all good for women who marry cops either...a job that leads to higher percentages (then other jobs) of marital abuse/divorce and alcohol abuse....and on top of that everyone one of them has to be right all the time......Don't get me wrong 4 or the 7 I know very well, were indeed good friends and I wouldn't want that to ever change but the question is "would you date a cop" and again NEVER | |
